Chapter 165: Horns

My Beginning After the EndWords: 10887

It was the next day, Arthur was still in the medical wing, he had to get some sort of medicine placed on his skin regularly. Aya was out cold still, but they said she should be waking up at some point soon.

I spent most of the day with Ellie, that was after I was with the King and Queen in Aya's room for a little. I told them all that happened in detail, and they were shocked a couple of times by the strength I possess.

I gave Arthur Jagrette's horns and kept the two I got from Erie. I think he was going to give one of them to Sylvie, and that should make her strong enough to obtain her human form. I think her mother put some sort of restricter on her, which lifted when she got strong enough, that is why she doesn't have a human form now.

I had no clue what I was going to do with the other two horns, of course I was going to absorb one of them, but the other, I didn't know. If I absorb both, would I make it to the next stage, out of white core.

I was currently in my room, sitting upright on the edge, thinking about everything. The party that they are throwing is going to be held in about a week, so I had to figure out what I was going to do before then.

Oh, would absorbing all the mana in one of the horns, and sending it to my palm where my acclorite was, would my weapon form, or bond whatever you want to call it. Would it just be a weapon since I didn't absorb any aether?

Honestly, I have been wanting a bond from this, but it probably will be just a sword, unless I do something about it. I pulled one of the horns out and activated "Blood Oath" as well. I needed to guide the mana to where I wanted it, so I had to manpulate my blood, and I was going to activate the ring Wren gave me to speed it up.

I started to absorb the mana in the horn, blocking out the dark thoughts that came along with it, even though seeing Erie's memories of being a Wraith might be kind of cool. I stopped using the ring every ten seconds, and just used blood to speed up the process, doing this over and over again.

I was in a dark place inside of my mind as I did all of this, the mana was tremendous, most likely because he was a young Wraith. I could only imagine getting into integration stage, I don't even know that much about it.

Is integration stage where the Asuras are at, well, I am assuming further into that stage of course, but if I was right, integration stage is when the mana core transfers all throughout your body, which is why the Asuras are so powerful.

If I could get there, what could I do with blood magic, tch, what could I do with blood magic with aether. It annoys me that I have no way to obtain powers involving aether, there is just no way. Even if my core broke, and I ended up in the same place as Arthur in the relictombs, I don't think I could build an aether core, I don't remember the steps.

After an hour, I stopped absorbing mana from the horns, and got up off my bed. I was in my normal set of clothes, except I didn't have armor on, and my cloak was laying on my bed. I grabbed it, and swung it on, feeling more comfortable walking in the halls here with it.

My ashy brown hair was exactly like Arthur's auburn hair, it covered my eyes unless I moved it out of the way, it almost reached down to my shoulders. I liked my hair long, but I think I need a haircut.

I opened my door, and my way through the hallway, feeling energetic from absorbing the horn's mana. There were two guards walking towards me, and as soon as they made eye contact with me, they stood up straight against the wall.

"General Virion." They both said as they bowed to me.

I nodded and walked by, trying to keep the Lance act up, I wanted them to think I was cool. Speaking of which, Lance of Death seems to be a common name for me that I did not know about. I don't really know if I like it or not, people are gonna have a misconception of me.

I made my way to the medical wing, and stood in front of Arthur's door, I could sense Sylvie and Ellie in there with him, so I walked in without knocking. "Veer, what have you been up to?" Arthur asked me as I opened the door.

Sylvie was in the corner of the room with one of Jagrette's horns, she was absorbing the mana, and since I had blood oath already activated, I decided to help her. I felt for the blood in her fox form, and made it go faster, manipulating the mana coming out of the horn to travel to her core at an even steadier pace. She opened her eyes and as they saw me, they widened, and she gave me a head nod in her fox form, and continued to do what she was doing.

"I was absorbing the mana in one of the horns." I told him truthfully, making my way to the side of the bed Ellie wasn't on. "How about you three?"

"Arthur and I were talking about what happened, I know you went over it yesterday, but hearing from Arthur as well was interesting." Ellie smiled at me. "I'm happy you didn't come back hurt again."

"Me too." I laughed a little, knowing this was probably the first time I returned back without being injured too badly. "Why are you not absorbing mana, Arthur? This seems like the best time to do so."

"I didn't want to do it with Ellie here." He motioned his head towards Sylvie. "But she has been up all night absorbing that on."

"I can see that." I faced Ellie. "I see my clone has been helping you, I can sense that you are almost out of the light red stage, and into dark orange."

"Yeah! I ran out of the beast cores." She sent me a warm smile, trying to be nice to get what she wanted. "Can I have more? I want to hit orange before dad and mom come back."

I sighed and pulled one more beast core out of my ring. "I don't have a lot left, but here." I tossed it to her over Arthur's bed, and she caught it. "I'll help you with it when Arthur absorbs mana as well."

"How about now?!" Ellie exclaimed, already getting comfortable on the end of Arthur's bed. "Come on Arthur!"

He turned to me, and my brother pulled out the horn he had. "Fine, Veer, you going to help out, or absorb your horn's mana?"

"I'll do both." I said, pulling mine out, and holding it before me. "Just start when you are ready." I suggested, and Ellie closed her eyes, and started absorbing mana from the beast core. Arthur did the same but with the horn. I think he still had some mana left in Uto's horn, he had to, because after he finishes that in the novel, he hits white core.

I made the process speed up for the both of them, then when everything got silent, they focused on what they had to do. I started to absorb mana in the horn I possessed and used my blood magic to make it go faster.

I had to concentrate to make sure I held it at the same pace for everyone, it wasn't that difficult, but I still had to focus on it. While I was in this dark state that the horn put me, I thought about the last horn, not knowing exactly what to do with it.

I was thinking about Tessia, yes, okay, would it be smart to give her the horn, no, not now, but let's say in the future, we lose the war. If something would happen to Arthur and me, Tessia being in white core would help her chances of surviving, it would also us now.

You can also make a claim that you could give it to Jasmine, and the same aspects would be in play. Tessia would have protection if anything happened to Arthur and me, and right now we would have another powerful mage. That would be the case with anyone though, because we could also give it to Elder Virion or Cynthia when she wakes up from the coma she was in from when we healed her.

However, you could also say we should give it to a conjurer, I was just thinking about strategies in battles. If Arthur and I fight up close, it would be nice to have someone who could fight from far away and support us.

Now, I know Arthur and I could be conjurers, we have spells that attack from a far, and we have the right channels, but that is just not how we fight. If we had a silver or white core mage to protect us from a far, I think our chances of winning battles would grow.

I wonder what I am going to be doing now if Arthur does decide to take a break, which I know he said he was. I wouldn't mind taking a small force and raiding Alacryan bases underground, but it would be risky. I know Arthur already said no to that, but I still think it is a pretty good idea.

I could also just go on other missions, maybe take out a force by myself, or help out our army somewhere. I don't know, but I don't want to be locked up in the castle again, it does get pretty boring in here after a while, knowing that there are battles being fought outside. I did like it when I trained with Aya and Aldir, but I can't do that anymore.

Will Agrona continue his pursuit for me, the whole war was for Tessia and control over Dicathen, so why continue to go after me. Also, who reincarnated me here. It had to have been one of these so called gods.

It was not Agrona, and it was not Kezess, they would have already spoken up about it, now, it is possible at this point that Agrona knows I am a reincarnate from my strength. Could it be someone from the phoenix clan? I only know the Lost Prince, but why would he bring me here, and how would he know of me?

After about fifteen minutes, the core that Ellie held broke, and I had to give her a new one. I was trying to be nice since we just got back, I might have five or six left, I didn't really care about them at the time, they weren't useful for me.

When the second one broke, we all stopped except for Sylvie, she continued, and I continued to help her since it was easy. Arthur and I still had plenty of mana in our horns we had, so if I had to guess, with my help, Arthur should be in white core by today or tomorrow.

I have no idea how close I was to integration phase, but if I knew better, I would say I was not close at all. I was able to defeat two Retainers, I think I should take that as a win for now, I might now be able to keep up with a Scythe, but I can take on Retainers.

I need to step over that hurdle at some point though, eventually I'll see Cadell, and I know I said I would take him on if he was in Ashber, but the truth was, that if he was there, I would not be in this castle right now. I was only being cocky cause I wanted to get in the right mindset, and the serpent spoke for me a little.

"Alright, let's call it a day for you Ellie." I said in a nice tone. "I only have a couple left, and after that, I won't be able to help you that much."

"Thank you, Veer." Ellie said kindly to me. "I heard they are making some sort of fish dish for dinner, wanna come with me and get a plate for Arthur?"

"Sure, I would love that." I said as I got up. "Arthur, you should continue absorbing mana, I'll help you still while we go get food, I will have range still to manipulate your blood."

"Okay, but don't strain yourself." Arthur replied, and I waved him off, putting the horn back in the mana ring, and making my way out the door with Ellie.
