Chapter 168: A Planned Meeting

My Beginning After the EndWords: 11236

The party being held here was now in three days, there were people of high ranking already showing up, and staying inside of the castle. A bunch of nobles I could give a shit about, luckily, I haven't had to speak to them.

I was currently walking out of my room, I had been absorbing mana from the horn, getting stronger to some degree. I was going to go rest on the balcony and enjoy the sight and sunlight, no one was out there, so I should have some alone time to deal with some thoughts.

I walked the hall the balcony, and the guards I passed bowed, and greeted me. I always nodded and continued walking, I didn't want to be a dick to them and ignore them, like some of the higher ranking people do.

I stepped out onto the balcony, found a seat by itself that was overlooking the Beast Glades, and sat down by myself to enjoy some peace and quiet. Arthur was in the training hall by himself, getting used to being in white core, Ellie was in her room, sleeping, I think.

I was with Aya, we talked about a bunch of things, new spell ideas, fighting styles, and just stupid shit. Aya was truly like an older sister, she was always joking with me, so I enjoyed being with her.

We have now taken down four Retainers, three of them are dead, however, there are still three others, because one of the ones we killed, was a replacement picked out to defeat me. We know that didn't work out, he still fought poorly, but that was because he was a younger Wraith that had been trained to fight with others.

I didn't think Agrona would replace a Retainer this quickly, but I guess to him, obtaining me is important. So, I can't say he won't replace the ones we killed again, maybe not from Wraiths, but from other vritra bloods. It doesn't matter, if they are Retainers, I should be able to handle it now by myself.

What did worry me, was the device Erie tried to use on me. I knew about it, so I got out of the way before it activated, but what happens if they set up a bigger trap, that removes my mana, and captures me. There could also be other artifacts that I don't know about, so I'll have to watch out for anything.

What if Agrona sends a team of Wraiths to my location? I want to be cocky right now, and say, oh yeah, I would kill them all, but I'm pretty sure it would be over for me. At least I hope that there are no more Alacryan spies inside of the castle, so he should not know where I am. That is if I stay hidden at all times from our own troops and battles, which I am not going to do. I just can't stay in one position too long; I need to keep moving to make sure I can't be located.

Actually, I guess I don't, I could create countless clones, weak ones, and lay them all throughout Dicathen. This would make it hard for Agrona to locate precisely where I was, of course, to soldiers that see the clones, they may see how weak it is if it has to fight.

"Virion." A voice spoke from behind me, and I felt all the happiness in me leave my body. "We need to speak."

I sighed as I stood up and spun around. "Aldir, good afternoon to you." I said sarcastically. "Let me guess, about going to Epheotus?"

"Yes." Aldir took a couple of steps forward and stood about five yards from me. "Lord Indrath wants to see the boy who has now taken down three Retainers, he was interested in you before, but now, you peeked even further."

"I peeked even further?" I thought the term was you peeked my interest, not even further.

"He wants to speak with you." Aldir said once again. "Windsom will be here the day after the party to get you, and you will be taken to Epheotus to see Lord Indrath. This is an order not a request, you know that, I already spoke with the council, and now they have agreed as long as you come back at a reasonable time." Aldir's eyes were glaring at me, like he wasn't asking, he was just relaying to me what I must do.

"Oh, okay." I said, nodding my head. "You basically want to abduct me, an eleven year old boy and remove him from his continent." I stopped nodding and made eye contact with him. "You understand how that sounds, right? I get it, I'll go if I have to, but you do realize what this means?"

"I understand how it sounds, but I don't understand the other thing." Aldir spoke, I had no emotion on my face, I wondered what it would be like to be the King of Epheotus.

"I mean that if you do this, I'll never be ally by choice." I said deadpan. "I'll do the biddings I have to, and win this war, but it will not be for you and your Asura buddies, it will be because of my family." I ran a hand through my long hair that I needed to get cut.

"Watch how you speak to me and watch how you speak of Lord Indrath." He spoke with such authority. "You are a Lesser, remember your place."

"Hahaha." I laughed, ignoring the Asura in front of me. "What about the attack on Alacrya? Did they go through with it?" I asked him while still giggling a little.

Aldir did not respond right away, but he did eventually. "Not yet, Lord Indrath would like to chat with you before he sends them." Oh, I see, so my warning didn't change anything, the Asuras just think they know better. "I know that if you go with open arms, you will not be disappointed."

"Huh, I thought my arms were always open, don't have no choice when it comes to him?" I said sarcastically. "Aldir, if you knew things going on inside of my head, even you would know why I am like this, questioning everything you say."

"I don't that, your mind is broken." I tilted my head back and forth, sort of agreeing with him. "You are an anomaly, same as Arthur, you've been told that, but anomalies can still be worthless."

"Kinda cold, but I understand." I hate the Asuras, really for no reason except of my knowledge of the novel, and you know, Agrona's goal is to rule Epheotus, what the hell, why shouldn't I change my goal to that. "So, I am going with Windsom to Epheotus the day after the party, got it, but you need to be the one to tell Arthur, and when he disagrees, I'll have to tell him."

"It does not matter what he thinks, but if you want, I'll tell him." Aldir said, and I nodded my head. If that is what he wants, I might as well tell Arthur the truth about them, I am sure he would love it. "You are a soldier, a Lance, a General, and so much more, you can go to another continent by yourself."

He was right about all those things, but I had to say, I was still eleven years old. "Whatever you say, Aldir." If they want to be a bunch of dickheads, fine, I'll give them what they want, but they won't be happy. "Is that all? Or does the almighty have something else for me to do?"

"You know your brother requested some time off to train, and he will be here in the castle." What Aldir said was an already known fact. "You are not coming off of the battlefield, we need at least one of you out there, defeating the enemy." Damn, he is calling the shots now, at least this one was one I liked.

"Good." I responded. "Now, can I get back to resting?" The Asura eyed me up, then turned away from me, and made his way off of the balcony. I know I shouldn't make the asuras my enemy, just because I don't know if I'll get strong enough to face them, but I am sure I could come up with some sort of plan to survive if I had to.

I sat back down in the chair and closed my eyes. I could absorb mana and go into a nice relaxation, but I wanted to relax freely, nothing helping me to do it. Meeting Seris was awesome, I was worried at first, you know, I did not know if she would be on our side still, but she is.

I want to fight her.

Not for life or death, but for fun, I want to see just how powerful she was, and if I could stand up to her. I also don't know that much about her magic, I know little, like the black cloud shit, or black mist, I don't remember.

I can't forget, I have no intention of going to see Kezess, I know what I told Aldir, but hell to no to that. Even being a little crazy, I know I should fear Kezess until I got stronger. I was curious though, what did he want with me?

Does he want to understand my blood powers? Does he want to control them? Does he want them? There are so many possibilities. He could also just be questioning how I knew about the plan to attack Alacrya, and if he knows Arthur is a reincarnate, then he could have his suspicions on me. Actually, I don't know if he knows if Arthur is a reincarnate, it does not really matter, I guess.

I stood up from my seat, there was no relaxing now, my brain was clogged with thoughts, I couldn't enjoy my time here. Screw you, Aldir. I made my way back into the castle and started to walk the halls. I didn't know what I wanted to do now; I'll probably go see how Arthur is doing in the training hall.

Maybe we will spar, test his new powers, see if he is better, I won't be able to control his core for long, and we know he is a better swordsman, so it should be a good fight. I turned the corner down a hall, and two people were walking towards me. They were dressed so fancy, defiantly high ranking nobles.

I was walking on the right, and they were on the left, we were still about twenty yards apart, but the two of them were looking at me. It was a guy and a girl, the guy was wearing a red robe of some sort, and the female was wearing a white robe, both had jewels all over. The robes covered the entire body, but to a point where they looked the part of a high ranking official.

The guy had spiky blonde hair, not super muscular, and most likely, I could defeat him in a battle without using mana. The female had long brown hair, different than mine though, and walked like she owned the place. There really wasn't a need to describe them, they didn't mean shit to me.

We got closer, and as I passed them, I looked forward, not at them, hoping not to be dragged into a conversation, but I was surprised by what they said to me. "Brat! You should bow to nobility, stop where you are, I demand it."

My mouth fell open, I wanted to die of laughter, I know there are children running around here, I see them sometimes, but something about how I walk and the aura that surrounds me has to say that I am different from them.

"Hey!" He said again, and I stopped five yards from them with my back turned. "You may be a noble's child, but you still need to bow to your higher ups and show respect."

Without turning around, I knew the two of them were standing there together, the female didn't say anything, it was only the man. "I only bow to people I respect." I smiled as I looked forward and went to walk again.

"What did you say!" He shouted in the hall, and a guard noticed us in front of me as he turned down the hall and came rushing over. "Guard, take this brat to his room, and tell his parents how disrespectful he is."

The guard stared, then bowed toward me. "Lance Virion, it is a pleasure, are they bothering you?"

"No, it's fine, just tell them to be quiet while they walk in the halls, people will get annoyed with all the yelling they are doing." I told the guard, and started to walk away, taking one last look over my shoulder at the two, they were in shock, which made me happy.

Hey, I didn't kill them even though they almost pissed me off, i'll take that annoying encounter as a win. Let's go see Arthur now, I hope he is willing to spar with me.
