Chapter 172: Party Pt. II

My Beginning After the EndWords: 12318

"His Beast Will?" Claire asked us. I knew about it, Grandfather told me, his Beast Will is corrupted with an Alacryan virus or something, and his mind is damaged.

"His Beast Will is corrupted." I told her, not knowing if Kathyln knew everything. "It's causing him to lose his mind, he's trying to deal with it, and a lot of people are searching for a cure, but I know he isn't always in the right state of mind."

This seemed to confuse Claire a little, Kathyln didn't really react, she didn't talk that much. "What? Why is he in the field then? I have to imagine fighting and killing, will cause him more damage."

"It will." I answered again. "But look at what he is doing, he killed two Retainers, I think they feel like they can't remove him from the field."

That's when I noticed my grandfather walk on to the stage, and he turned to the room, and flicked something on his robe he was wearing. "Everyone." His voice projected, and everyone went silent. "Thank you all for coming today, as most of you know, three of our Lances went toe to toe with three Retainers from Alacrya, and won."

The people started to chatter, probably about the battle, they already knew we had won, but it was a big deal. The people know that these Retainers and Scythes are their most powerful mages, so taking them down was a big deal.

"Now, I don't want to make a big speech, I just want all of you to enjoy your time here and celebrate this enormous victory our Lances have brought to us." My Grandfather, the Commander of Dicathen, smiled and then motioned to the side of the stage. "Now, please welcome the three Lances that gave us this victory, Lance Aya, Lance Arthur, and Lance Virion."

The three Lances walked out onto the stage, they were all wearing a white suit with golden gems, dazzling the crowd, and everyone was on their feet, clapping, celebrating their appearance.

"Look at Arthur and Veer." Claire said. "They look so formal."

"I know." I said as I stared at Arthur.

"Have you told Arthur how you feel?" Claire asked me, and I felt my face blush a little, and I turned to her. "Of course, we all know Tessia, it's pretty obvious."

My face was red, but my grandfather spoke again. "Feast, talk, have fun, this is a celebration, enjoy yourselves. We will be showing off what these Retainers look like later." He nodded his head, and everyone began to chat once again.

I went back to what Claire said. "Well, you know Arthur, he isn't the greatest with people and his emotions." I noticed that music began to play, and people began to gather in the center to dance. "But I have, we spoke a little about it, and I am fine with what he had to say, I know he is going through a lot."

"You should speak with him tonight." Claire said, and that's when Kathyln backed away from us.

"I am going to go see my father and mother." Kathyln told us, and then started to walk away. She didn't say anything else, or even give us a chance to say goodbye, but she was like that.

Claire looked at me weirdly, then spoke again. "Back to what I said, you should speak with Arthur tonight, you know, love is a very powerful motivation to make someone stronger." My face was still red, I was trying to control it, but could not.

"Claire, let's not talk about this." That's when my eyes drifted to Veer. "What the?" I questioned what I was seeing.

"What?" Claire asked, turned to what I was looking at. "Who is with Veer?"

Standing next to Veer, was a girl with horns in a black dress, she had blonde hair, and looked very cute. "No way." For some reason, one name came to mind. "Sylvie?" Could that be Arthur's bond?

"Arthur's bond? Wait, what?!" Claire spoke, but that's when Veer turned to us, he sent us a smile, and then I saw him whisper something into Sylvie's ear, and they began to walk over to us. "Oh look, they are coming."

"Oh my." I said, eyeing up Sylvie, well, the person I think is Sylvie.

"Tess, Claire, it is great to see you two." Veer said with a smile as he walked side by side with the girl up to us. "You both look lovely."

"Oh, thanks, Veer." I said with a smile, then faced the girl. "Sylvie?" I said questioningly. "Is that you?"

"It is!" The little girl exclaimed, and my eyes widened. "Did I surprise you!"

"You did!" I said with a smile, looking at Arthur's bond who basically grew up before my eyes. "You look amazing." I reached up and went to grab her horns. "And look at these." I touched them, they were hard.

"Stop, Tess." Sylvie said shyly, nudging my hands away from her.

"So, Veer, tell us about your battle with the Retainers." Claire spoke up, looking at Veer as he stood close to Sylvie. "I would love the hear what type of magic they used."

A waiter walked by, and Veer waved his hand at them. "Hey." The waiter turned to us. "I'll take four of these." He grabbed four glasses, I didn't know what was inside, but it probably wasn't water, but some sort of alcohol. "Umm here, the Retainers, well, one had sound magic, one had mist swords, and the other had acid based powers, I mean, it was a normal battle, I killed two, and Arthur killed the other."

"You make it sound so easy." I said. "Veer, you just had to beat your brother didn't you."

"I didn't care about that." Veer took a giant sip out of the glass, made a disgusted face, then placed it down. "I only cared that we won, Tess, I hope you know that. I didn't try to beat Arthur, also, they were a bunch of pussies, right Sylvie."

"Veer, don't say that." Sylvie nudged him.

"You say that, but they are supposed to be the strongest people in Alacrya." Claire said this time. "We couldn't survive against them, they would rip us to shreds, I don't even want to see one in the field."

"Ahh, don't worry." Veer took another sip; I still hadn't touched my drink. "Tess, do you have a mana ring on you?" He asked me, I was slightly confused, but I nodded my head. "Here, take this." Appearing in his hand was a horn. "Listen, you don't have this, I didn't give it to you, and no one says anything about." He looked at Sylvie, Claire, and me, and then handed it over.

"What is it from?" I held the horn in my hand, curious on why Veer gave me this.

"Oh, it's from the Retainer." He said simply, and then finished his drink. "There is a shit ton of mana in it, absorb it when you can, but be careful, it is pretty potent." He looked at Claire. "Are you going to drink this?"

"Take mine." I said, pushing the drink towards him. "But slow down, or I am going to get Arthur." I paused and then went on as he took the drink. "This horn is from a Retainer?" I asked curiously, and as Veer took a sip, he nodded his head. "What?!" I exclaimed.

"Yep, that shit is from a Retainer, the one I pinned to tree using ice daggers, then slid an ice sword into his chest." Veer smiled at us. "Hahah." He laughed. "He sent one singular Wraith to handle me, haha."

Claire, Sylvie, and I exchanged confused looks, but Claire spoke up. "You mean Retainer?"

"Oh, yeah." He nodded his head. "Just absorb that, Tess, and you make it to white core, we will need you there." Veer was trying to get me to white core? "Just put it away before Arthur sees, he didn't want to give it to you, and I didn't at first either, but I realized that it was best in your hands."

"Thank you, Veer." I said, putting the horn away. "I will do my best to get to white core." I assured him, and that is when a nobleman came over to us, standing behind Veer and Sylvie.

"Lance Virion, it is an honor." The man bowed to the back of Veer as he spun around. "I would love to chat with you, if that is okay."

I watched as Veer took another sip, then responded. "Can we talk in like, twenty minutes, bud?" Veer said nonchalantly, and the guy nodded, and walked away. "Get a load of that noble, tch, I hate them."

"Veer, stop, don't say that here." I told him, slightly holding back a laugh. "Sylvie, watch him."

"I will." Sylvie said with a smile. "Tess, how long are you staying?" Arthur's bond asked me.

"For at least the next couple days." I told her, then went on. "My team will be staying with me here for a little, taking a small break." Veer was leaning on the table, just listening.

"So, you are a dragon?" Claire asked Sylvie, and she nodded her head. "I don't understand, how do you have a human form, it is kind of weird."

"I agree, but you look amazing." I said, smiling at the dragon.

"I am a dragon." Sylvie nodded her head, and Veer took another sip from his drink. "It's something my race can do." Veer was now leaning over on to Sylvie, but she stood tall, holding him up.

"That is pretty cool." Claire nodded her head. "That is a pretty cool power."

"Yeah." I agreed with her. "Look at that." Standing in a large group of kids was Ellie, she was in a black dress that looked gorgeous on her. "Is that boy next to her?" Standing next to Ellie was a noble boy, from a house I didn't know.

"What?!" Veer spun around and almost fell over, spilling his drink slightly. "I'm gonna kill him." He took a step, but Sylvie grabbed him.

"Veer, stay here." She pulled him back to us, and he turned back around. "I think Arthur is going to handle it." We all looked over, and standing there in the middle of the room, talking to a noble was Arthur, but he was staring past him, looking at Ellie.

"Tess, go get your lover, we'll stay here." Veer spoke with a smirk. "Give him this." Veer handed me two drinks. "Get him to talk to you alone, I'm sure you will enjoy it."

"Veer." Sylvie hit him on the arm, and he leaned on her again, basically falling over. "Let me help you." Sylvie put her arm through his and helped him stand upright.

Arthur walked over to Ellie, and split the group up, leaving Ellie there to speak with him. "I'll go and talk to him." I said, moving away from the table, but saying one more thing to Claire. "Watch him." Veer sent me a warm smile, that for some reason made me want to laugh.

I made my way to Arthur, and as I did, I could hear their conversation. "Arthur, I was fine, he wasn't flirting with me." Ellie told him, but Arthur seemed determined not to let her near the boy again.

"Ellie, stay away from him." Arthur said, and that is when I stepped in.

"Art, Ellie." I said, interrupting them, and they turned to me. "Art, let her be, she is just having fun."

"Thanks, Tessia." Ellie shook her head. "I'm going over there."

"El." Arthur said as she made her way over to a group of girls. "Damn, Tess." Arthur turned to me. "You look good, dressed the part of a Princess, I would say." Arthur wasn't holding a drink at all.

"Thanks, you don't look too bad yourself, Lance." I smiled at him. "You know your brother is drinking, right?" Arthur snapped his head over to Veer and Sylvie.

"What?!" Arthur exclaimed, then went silent.

"Sylvie seems to be handling him."

"I can see." Arthur seemed to chill out a little. "Mind helping me through this event?" Arthur smiled, and I felt a rush of joy spread through my body. "I could use it, and Veer shouldn't be drinking, but I'm going to let him. I think this could be a nice time for him to let loose a little, I think he is stressed."

"I'm sure he is." I said, placing my arm through his. "I have mastered these events, don't worry, I'll take care of the nobles, just stay with me, and you'll be fine."

Arthur didn't try to pull away from me, and he responded. "Thank you, Tess." The two of us started to walk around together.

I noticed that his face was a little red, mine was as well. To most, it may look like we are a couple, but we weren't, although, I hope one day we are.

"Arthur, did you know Sylvie had a human form?" I asked as the nobles around us stared at the two of us. "And for some reason, I feel like Veer and her are bonding slightly."

"First, I did not know she had a human form, and second, Sylvie nor he say that they came to this together, but I can feel it, I think my bond has a crush on my brother." As Arthur spoke, and we looked over at Sylvie, Claire, and Veer, the two of them were still intertwined like Arthur and I were at this moment.

"Honestly, they are kind of adorable together." They were, I could not deny it.

"If Sylvie and Veer had to be with someone, I would actually prefer them to be together." Arthur stopped for a second and looked at the two as they laughed. "But I don't know what is going on in Veer's head half the time, so it's hard to predict what he will do."
