I nodded my head, pushing past the desire to kill five thousand men. "Let's go then." Him and I exited the tent, and I said. "Be safe, Callias, I'll get Daryl and Geist, they are on the far end, close to the troops in formation."
"You too, Veer." Callias nodded, placing his helmet on, and we split apart, heading in two different directions, he was going to get Melody and Cassandra. The two of them were on the west end, also, near the troops, but on the other side of Daryl and Geist.
As I picked up my pace, trying to look like a worried soldier, I ran towards the portal frame, and the soldiers in my way were getting into formation, shouting orders to one another, worrying about where I was located.
"Boom!" The portal frame exploded as a fire and wind spell collided with it.
Shit, all the soldiers turned toward the frame that was no longer there, Geist and Daryl did their job, but they should not have. "Kill those two!" Soldiers shouted as they got into fighting positions.
I could feel all their cores activating, Daryl and Geist's heartbeats were quickening as they faced the enormous force before them alone. Shields activated in the front row, well, there goes trying to escape without fighting.
I vanished, appearing before Geist and Daryl. "You shouldn't have done that." I said, taking the armor off in the process, and my cloak out of my mana ring, and slipping it on. That armor would just slow me down, I can't wear it and fight.
"We figured if it was destroyed the force couldn't get any back up." Geist said, and he had a point. "We thought if we did this, the four of you could have left and got the others."
I shook my head as arrows came down on us, and I brought an ice wall up and over us, making sure none of us got hit. "Listen up, I'm going to use my illusion magic to get us out of here, just stay by my side, and I'll take care of it."
The wall crumbled as the spells and arrows destroyed, there were too many, I started using illusion magic, hiding us, but it didn't work, the Sentries pointed in my direction. "They are right there; he's using some sort of magic to be invisible."
More spells and arrows rained down on our position, causing me to conjure another ice wall. I'm sorry, Callias, this is for the greater good. "You two, get out of here, I'll keep the illusion spell active for you, but I'll fight the force myself."'
"What? We can let you do that, General." Daryl looked at me with a very serious face.
"He's right, we can't abandon you down here, I know you are our leader, but that is why we can't." Geist added.
"Also, you are a child, no matter your strength, your wisdom, you shouldn't be sacrificing your life for us." Daryl placed a hand on my shoulder. "We aren't leaving without you, Lance Virion."
"It's an order." I told the two of them, pushing more ice into the wall. "I'm about to lose some of my sanity, you don't want to be around when I do, trust me, for your safety, leave." I was about to kill a shit ton of people, causing some chaos that should buy the five of them time to leave.
My hair started to change color, causing them to back away, and then I pushed them using wind magic, revealing myself to the crowd of soldiers, and got ready to fight. "There he is!" The soldiers screamed, all facing me now.
I felt for Melody, Cassandra, and Callias, and used illusion magic on them from here, allowing the five of them to get away, and keeping the attention of the Sentries by exerting my aura to its fullest.
I needed to let Sylvie know, there was no running from this now, if they can get in here, they can help Callias and the others. I don't see how I escape, even with the shield not activated, I could probably get out, but our force would lose the element of surprise, and we would probably lose a lot more men, so it's better if we fought here.
I stood before five thousand men, alone, ready to go, the shield users had their spells activated, the Strikers were getting into position, Caster's in the back, they shouted. "Advance!" The shields took one step closer to me, then stopped. "Advance!" The shields took another step.
Here we go, I activated my blood curse, killing everyone that had been affected, which was about five hundred now, their bodies fell to the floor, holes opened in the front line, people looking around in utter confusion, then I shot myself in the army.
I was in "Blood Monarch" now, I was at my strongest, ready to go, ready to end this. A sword of blood formed in my hand, fire appeared around my body, and I swung at the first soldier, cutting him in half, ducked, dodged, pushed a force out of body, and the blood of the enemies closest to me erupted out of them.
I brought it to the sky and activated "Blood Rain." The blood needles rained down on the enemy back lines as they were filling the gaps of the five hundred that died from the curse. I felt the roof above us start to crumble, the demolition team was opening a hole for our force to enter.
Callias and the others just met up, I bet he is mad that I am doing this, but I don't have time to think about that. Arrows crossed my face as I dodged them all, swinging through enemy mages, killing multiple, dodging attacks, fighting the enemy force by myself for the moment.
I deflected an attack, and the roof crumbled, and Sylvie flew in, heading directly towards me. An arrow hit me right in the shoulder. "Shit." I ignored it, pushed my blood sword into a soldier's throat, disrupted a core of a shield, extended the tip of the blade into the shield user, spun and beheaded another.
"Boom." Sylvie landed behind me, exerting a tremendous amount of anger, scaring the shit out of the countless soldiers in front of me. I already left a trail of bodies around me; Sylvie spoke in her dragon form. "I thought you said everything was going to be fine."
Mana formed in her mouth, and the beam shot out, ripping through the enemy, as my blood rain did the same. I launched into them, sensing our force coming down into the cavern. I stopped using my illusion magic on Callias and them as they were joined by some of our soldiers.
They were attacking at the back now, Sylvie and I were in the front alone, I had to forget about them right now, I had a bigger problem. I moved my blood rain, so it was aimed at the middle of the pack of soldiers, and not the back where our force was coming from.
Sylvie stopped using the mana attack, and just started clawing through the enemy. Arrows and magical spells were aimed at us, I was about to raise an ice shield, but Sylvie's wing covered me, protecting me from the attacks.
"Are you okay?" I asked her, and she nodded her dragon head. "Alright, move." The wing moved out of my way, and I shot into the force again, making it so they could use countless arrows and spells on me, they would end up hitting their own men.
I parried a sword, conjured a dagger, stuck it in a man's throat, brought blood to my left hand, shot it into a soldier's skull, brought it back to me, formed a second sword, deflected another attack, shot the fire that was covering me out of my body, and onto the soldiers around me, burning them to death.
I swung my blood swords together, extending them so they cut through as many as they could, killing a decent amount. Shields surrounded us still, I was deactivating cores, but new shield users would just take their place, there were just too many of them. It was good my blood rain was hitting locations where there were less Shields.
Multiples arrows came for me again, this time, however, Sylvie wasn't close enough to protect me, she was to my side, fighting through other soldiers. I went to raise an ice wall, but was stopped as a soldier went to drive a spear into my core, I deflected the spear, slit his throat, raised an ice wall, but didn't get it up in time as an arrow surrounded with fire passed through my lower stomach, not getting close to my core, but hurting as I closed the wound.
"Hahaha." I laughed in pain, not caring one bit. I started cutting through the enemy faster, using "Blood Acceleration" to speed me up, and also using wind magic. These men can't keep up with me, it was their numbers that did them good.
Blood ran to the ground as I released the blood sword in my left hand and shot it into countless soldiers to my right. The army where I was at, started to surround me, Sylvie was getting attacked as well by every single element. I didn't want her here, my breathing got faster as I continued to go.
A ball of water shot at me, I froze it, causing it to drop to the ground, a blade of fire came at my shoulder, I gripped the guys hand, jumped over a spear aim for my back, used the blood from the dead to add to my blood rain spell, and also I brought some of it to me, having it circle my body for protection.
As spells and weapons from the force I was fighting attempted to collide with me, the blood I had circling me protected me when I couldn't dodge an attack. I deflected an attack, stuck the sword into the guy's throat, ripped it out, made another soldier explode into chunks, swung through another, and another.
We barely made a dent, I still felt over four thousand, this wasn't good, even with my men now fighting on the other side, the issue was, as my force was coming down on the rope, the Alacryans were picking them off, we only had about five hundred down here.
A spear came for my face, the blood I had formed a shield to protect me, so I didn't have to dodge that attack, but the soldier was flattened by Sylvie's paw as she planted it on him. I looked up at Sylvie as mana shot out of her mouth, shredding through them.
Arrows and spells came down on us, they ignored the men around, killing a few of them, a stick of fire collided with water I conjured to put it out, an arrow made from corrosive veins came down and I moved to the side dodging it.
"Veer, how long can we keep this up?" Sylvie said, and I smiled.
"I can do this all day." I said as I brought the blood in the bodies of the people, we just killed to me, forming spears of blood, shooting them at the front lines, disrupting the cores of the shields, so that the blood could travel through as many soldiers as possible. "Hahahaha." This was so fun, my eyes were darting around, locating soldier after soldier, picking my next target.
"Stay calm!" Sylvie said to me, but I ignored her, this was a good feeling, one I haven't felt in a while, the men in this room were at my mercy, which I had zero of, I'll kill them all, it doesn't matter how long it takes, or how much damage I take, in the end, they will all fall.
I launched myself away from Sylvie, into the force, not caring anymore, knowing the blood around me would do its absolute best to protect me. My blood sword entered a soldier, and then I conjured a dagger in my other hand, threw it into another, deflected a sword, dodged another, vanished, appearing within a different group, killing another soldier.
I was now about twenty yards from Sylvie as she took on soldiers as well, but they struggled to do anything to her, and most of their attentions was on me, in the middle of countless soldiers, just wiping them out as I went.
Arrows located me, but I vanished again, not allowing them to reach me in time, appearing somewhere else, cutting down another soldier, and another, conjuring ice out of the ground, impaling ten soldiers at once.
Every time I killed someone, the cloud of blood that was raining down blood needles was getting larger as it consumed the blood of the dead to keep going. It wasn't just who I killed though, it was who Sylvie, or our army killed.
I had crazy eyes at the moment, my eyes twitching like crazy as the blood of my enemies was my weapon, and it also covered me from head to toe. An ax came for chest, I kicked the female soldier to the ground, spun, took the life of another sword wielder that had wind mana surrounding his blade.
The blood surrounding me deflected spells that were directed toward me, I conjured an ice spear into the female soldier's base of her skull, killing her right there on the spot. "Haha." I laughed as I kept on going, killing more, and more.
I vanished and appeared next to Sylvie who was having trouble with shield and spear users around her. I was below her neck and disrupted the cores of all the enemies within a twenty yard radius, then brought ice spears up into their chest, leaving their bodies hanging on them.
There was now no one near us at the moment, no one alive I mean, the soldiers were running at us. I felt Sylvie start to change her form, she went into her human form by my side as spells were launched at us.
"Stop, you lost control." Sylvie said as she got close to me, placing a hand on my face. A mana barrier formed around us, it was Sylvie's magic, and it deflected the attacks away. "Stay with me, Veer."
