(One Year Later)
I have now been in this world for a year, and ever since day one; I have been forging my mana core, by gathering the white mana particles inside of my body. If I didn't have my knowledge of this world, there was zero chance I would have been able to figure this out.
Since I was always laying down, it made forging my core easier. Like at the moment, I was in my own crib, my mother set me down so I would nap. Instead of napping, I focused on my core and the abilities it was going to give me. It was super exciting to know that sooner or later I would be able to use magic.
Would I be a Quadra Elemental like Arthur? I started to think about all the elements that would be under my control.
With fire I could burn down my enemies, this was probably the most used element. In the long run, it is assumed to be the most dangerous. I know that Arthur uses fire a decent amount.
There would be a chance to be a Lightning Deviant which goes with fire since I was human. That never made sense to be in the novel, just because you are a different race means you are limited to abilities. Elves and Dwarves can't learn lightning magic, humans can't learn plant or lava magic.
Wind magic would defiantly come in handy, especially if you were a white core. You can use it to fly, and it can be quite powerful in a fight.
Sound Deviants are classified with the wind element, these can be Humans or Elves. Sound magic in this world isn't used properly, you can literary destroy anything with the right frequency. That's if you can find the right frequency.
Earth magic is pretty difficult to master, it's one of Arthur's weakest elements. I could see myself struggling to master it, but in a fight it can be useful. I mean you are always surrounded by earth, so you have an unlimited supply of material to work with.
Humans and Dwarves can be Gravity Deviants with this element, but I don't remember much about it. I know Lance Mica uses it.
Finally, the last element, and probably the one everyone thinks is a useless element, water. This isn't true and I know that what I'm about to suggest is a long shot, but our blood in our bodies are mostly made up of water. They say mages can't use water to just pull out blood, or control people, because there's no mana to do that.
Well, what if I say that's a false statement? The fact is the only other person that could think about it like i'm about to, is Arthur.
When we forge our mana core, mana is in our blood, and you need to remove it. So, wouldn't that mean if you could get water mana into someones blood, you could control it, if you practice it at a young age of course?
This was what I was also doing, I couldn't do anything with mana yet. However, I could learn what the mana feels like inside of blood, so that I could interpret it in the future.
It was a long shot, but I thought my logic was there.
Imagine, I was the first ever Blood Deviant.
What abilities besides control blood would it offer?
Anyways, with water element, also comes Ice Deviants. I always liked the concept of ice magic, so it would be awesome to be able to use it.
There was one other deviant type magic art that I didn't understand. Aya was an Illusion Deviant, or something of the sorts. I don't recall what element that is a part of, or if it is of its own. I wouldn't mind being an Illusion Deviant, if that was even possible.
There was just so much potential in this world, too bad it goes downhill in seven years. I needed to get strong so I could change things.
I worried about the drawbacks, if I change something, would something else happen that is even worse. I have a lot of time to think about it.
The sound of Ellie crying took me away from my thoughts. If I wanted more time to concentrate, I needed to pretend I was still asleep when whoever walks in.
The door opened quietly, and I kept my eyes closed. "Ellie, what's wrong." It was Lilia's voice. She must have picked up Ellie, because I heard the crying move across the room and land right in front of me. "Looks like Veer is still sleeping, let's leave him alone Ellie."
The door opened again quietly, and closed quietly, the only loud noise was Ellie.
I went back to forging my core. Arthur was going to be here in two years, I needed to awaken before then.
That's when I noticed, there were only five more white particles. Oh my god, I was so busy thinking and concentrating that I didn't realize I was this close to being done.
I started to place the remaining mana particles into the bunch I gathered. Five left, four left, three left, two left, one left. I stopped before I did the last one. There was going to be an explosion, so now that I think about it. It's good that Ellie started to cry.
My days as a mage were about to start, even if I wasn't going to be able to use elements yet. I was still super excited. The first things I'll have to figure out is how to protect my body with mana, and I'm going to attempt to teach myself mana rotation. The technique that Sylvia taught him to continuously absorb mana while moving.
It's time!
I placed the last white mana particle with the others.
I opened my eyes as my body started to glow.
Then I started to float in the air, it felt so weird.
I closed my eyes again as I felt my body emit and explosion. "Boom!"
I was still floating in the air as I opened my eyes. The room I was in was a complete mess, I was surrounded by debris. "Veer!" I heard my mother shout. I didn't even see a way to get into the room anymore. "Veer!" My mother sounded worried.
"It's okay Alice, I'm sure he is fine." Tabitha tried to calm her. "Someone go get Rey."
"I'm on it Mrs. Helstea." I didn't know who said it, but it most likely was a guard.
"Veer! Your mama is her! Don't worry, we'll get to you!" She shouted to me, from behind the debris. "Someone needs to get in there!"
I fell to the ground, on my but, landing on the bed that was in my crib, which was broken.
It only took ten minutes for my father to arrive and open up a path way for them to get through. "Veer!" My mother shouted as she ran up to me and picked up. "Are you okay?" Her expression showed her concern.
"Ahh, honey." My dad stood next to us. I noticed Tabitha behind them looking at the room in shock.
"What?" My mother held me tightly and started to sway back and forth. I wasn't even crying I was able to feel the mana around me and inside of me. It was fascinating.
"The last time something like this happened, Arthur awoke as a mage."
"You can't be thinking that your one year old son awakened as a mage already." Tabitha called out from behind us.
"It wouldn't be the first time." My father started to rub my head. "Veer, did my little boy do this." He looked at me with a smile. My verbal communication was limited to yesh and a slight head shake no. Of course my first word was mama, but that is beside the point.
With my babiest voice I said. "Yesh." His eyes lit up.
"Oh my god it's happening again." My mother held me tighter.
"That is impossible! Kids don't usually become mages until they are older." I knew that Aunty Tabitha and Uncle Vincent weren't mages and that their family wasn't known for being mages. I could understand her disbelief.
Uncle Vincent came running into the room. "What the hell happened!"
"My son became a mage!" My dad took me from my mother who was still in shock. "Veer you are just like your older brother!" He started to spin me around.
"Stop! He's just a baby still!" My mother pleaded and my father immediately stopped.
"We'll have to start your training soon! I'll do what I did for Arthur. Wait, Arthur said he learned some fighting moves from reading, should we start reading books like that!" My father was talking very fast, you could tell just how excited he was.
"You are telling me, your one year old boy, awakened as a mage." Uncle Vincent could not comprehend what was going on.
"Yes!" My dad exclaimed again.
