Chapter 22: First Day Pt.II

My Beginning After the EndWords: 12777

I was on my way to Team Fighting Mechanics, I was running a little late because I couldn't find the damn place.

I saw a bunch of students crowded together and assumed that this was where I needed to go. I saw a giant bird flying in the sky, but no one was on it. Did the professor already start talking to everyone.

I made my way into the crowd and noticed Arthur speaking to the professor. "How about we do a quick three on three team mock battle." I remember her name, it's Professor Glory.

"I rather not." Arthur spoke up.

"We'll volunteer as a team." Claire said with Curtis and Arthur in her arms.

Professor Glory turned to me as I got closer. "Looks like a late arrival." I stopped near Arthur. "You must be the eight year old, Director Goodsky talked about."

"Yeah."

"Don't be late next time." She spoke then started to look at everyone. "Who wants to take on the Disciplinary Committee, the school's strongest fighters."

"How about the Student Council versus the Disciplinary Committee." Clive raised his hand.

"That's a great idea." Professor Glory exclaimed. "You'll need one more person though to make it even." Tessia and Clive came up to Professor Glory after being told they could fight. "Who would like to join team Student Council?" I raised my hand. "I don't think the student council wants an eight year old on their team."

Clive chimed in. "Yeah, we would rath--."

He was interrupted by Tessia. "We'll take him." We exchanged smiles, and then I turned to Arthur.

"Don't go easy on your little brother."

"What?!" Professor Glory and pretty much everyone exclaimed. "You're his brother." I nodded my head. "Oh, then this just got way more interesting. That explains everything." She placed a hand on Arthur's shoulder. "Don't let your little brother show you up, Professor."

Oh yeah, Arthur took down one of his professors in one of his classes.

"I won't, I never do." Arthur grinned.

"Take these." Professor Glory gave us these blue uniforms. "They will protect you, so these are mandatory. If you take too much damage, the uniform will set off an alarm, that notifies everyone that you have been eliminated." I took the uniform, and everyone moved to the stands in the distance of the grassy terrain, except for the six fighting.

I didn't see Lucas; I wonder if he was mad.

We were in the middle of some sort of battlefield that was covered with trees and rocks. It was more like a natural area meant for fighting.

I started to tighten the pads we had to wear but had some difficulty. "Let me help." Tessia grabbed the pad and helped me get it on.

"Thanks."

"Looks like Arthur is having the same issues." She laughed. "You Leywin boys."

I walked over to Clive. "You better not hold us back."

Why was he being such dick? "I was going to say the same thing to you."

"Let's go! Get to your positions!" Professor Glory shouted. "This is War and Conquest, knock out the king of the opposing team and win." I summoned my night black sword in my right hand. "To make interesting, the Leywin brothers are the kings."

"That's not fair." Clive shouted.

"It's fine, Clive." Tessia continued to defend me.

"Okay then get ready!" Professor Glory shouted.

"Who's getting the new professor?" Clive looked at us. "Princess, do you want him, or should I?"

"I got him." I stepped and got ready to attack.

"What! He's the stron---." Clive was interrupted.

Professor Glory

Let's see what these young students can do. "Begin!"

Virion Leywin headed straight for his brother, ha, this should be interesting. The other boy took on the leader of the Disciplinary Committee, and it looked like it was Prince vs Princess on the other side.

Let's see what the Leywin boys can do.

Arthur surrounded himself with earth and wind mana and then launched himself at his incoming brother. Virion's body lit up with blue fire and the two of them collided. Their speed was remarkable.

Virion would swing his sword and Arthur would dodge with ease, but it went both ways. Their movements looked almost identical; Arthur's was a little more precise.

I saw Arthur smile, and Virion returned, then their speed increased even more. It was hard to tell who had the upper hand, Virion was younger but seemed to be able to handle himself.

Ice came out of Virion's foot and created an icy terrain, slowing down Arthur. "Huh, he's a deviant in water magic." So, he was a dual elemental like his brother. They exchanged blow after blow, but none landed.

Arthur got off of the ice and waited for Virion to approach him. Virion raised his hand and shot an icicle at his brother. Arthur brought up a wind wall that deflected the attack. Then they collided again head on, not over the ice currently laying in the middle of the field.

Virion swung his sword and Arthur ducked under and brought his sword to his younger brother's chest, but something impossible happened. "No way." Virion used wind magic to propel himself away from his brother. He was a tri elemental, that's why the Director allowed him to come to this school at such a young age.

He was also powerful.

Arthur toppled to his knees, and Virion appeared before him, swinging his sword at his brother's head. Their movements were so smooth, it was hard to believe they were this young. These two were going to change the world.

A stone slab rose up to defend Arthur as Virion smashed it with his sword causing debris to fly everywhere. Arthur shot through it and their swords collided again with each other over and over.

Virion summoned water and used it to shoot at Arthur as they fought head to head up close. Arthur was forced to dodge the sword coming at him and the water at the same time. Their mana control is amazing.

Arthur swung his blade and knocked Virion's sword to the ground, it was over. Virion used wind magic to bring knee up to Arthur's face, and as he did Arthur dropped his sword as he dodged the attack. He didn't even get hit, why did he drop his sword? Did it slip out of his hands?

"Dooooooom!" A sudden pressure made me shiver. I turned to Prince Curtis who released his Beast Will it looked like at Princess Tessia who was falling over.

"Go Torch!" I shouted at my companion. I couldn't let the Princess get hit by that.

A giant ball of fire was heading straight for her, we weren't going to make it!

"Boom!" Oh no, the spell hit. There was smoke everywhere and I landed in it, trying to find Princess Tessia.

Please be okay! I don't want the death of the elven princess to be my fault.

The sight before me wasn't Princess Tessia dead, but Arthur laying on top of her with his uniform completely destroyed. The two of them were not conscious.

"How is Arthur here?" I turned my head to see Virion staring over here. He didn't seem confused by the sight, however. "Someone call the medical team and the Director!" I shouted as my older students did what they were told.

Virion Leywin came walking over, but the Disciplinary Committee leader stopped him. She probably didn't want the kid to see his older brother in this state.

Virion Leywin

Jeez, they are all worrying for no reason, Arthur is fine. "Come on, Virion, let's go over here." Claire led me away from the scene, as healers came rushing in. "Your brother will be okay."

I guess I'll act like the heart broken brother. "Are you sure?"

"Yeah, he'll be fine." She smiled at me, as we stood near a tree. "Let's just wait here until they do their jobs."

I thought I was going to get some more time with Arthur, our fight was just starting. I only used my blood magic to reduce his speed, because of all the eyes that were on us.

"I didn't mean too." I heard Prince Curtis shout. "It was an accident." It looked like he was panicking, a couple of other students helped calm him down.

After about five minutes a medical team picked up Arthur and Tessia on stretchers and carried them somewhere. I didn't know where they were going. Everyone was now gathered around Professor Glory "Since I think everyone is a little shaken up, let's stop class there." Everyone started to chat amongst themselves.

"Do you want me to walk you somewhere?" Claire asked me.

I was about to speak but the person I was looking for appeared, he was walking past me. "That's what happens when the Disciplinary Committee chooses some commoner over me." It was Lucas Wykes. "Oh look, it's his brother." He stared down at me.

"Look it's some hot shot noble brat that thinks he is all that." I shot at him, Lucas hurt my brother, all those events still happened. I couldn't just forgive him, because it didn't happen to me.

"What did you say!" Lucas got angry with me.

"Back away Lucas." Claire ordered. "You know what happens if you fight on campus."

"Tch, need an older student to protect you, huh." Lucas turned and started to walk away. "Pathetic commoner."

"Haha." I laughed at his comment. "I'm good Claire, I'll go back to my room and wait for news on Arthur."

"Are you sure you don't want me to come with incase Lucas tries something?"

"He couldn't touch me if he tried." I smiled as I started to walk back to my dorm. I was going to wait there until Director Goodsky gave me permission to see Arthur. Lucas gave me one last glare, and I gave him a two finger salute. He gritted his teeth and looked away.

---

About two hours later, I was told Arthur was up and that I could go and see him. It was Director Goodsky, Tessia, and I. I was surprised to see Tessia already up and walking around. We made it to his door and Tessia spoke up. "I don't think I'm going to go inside."

"You're coming." I told her as I opened the door for the Director and her.

We all walked inside, and Arthur was wrapped in bandages from head to toe. "Oh my god, Arthur, are you okay?" Tessia exclaimed as she ran up to the side of his bed. "I'm so sorry!"

"It's fine, Tess." Arthur smiled.

I walked up to the other side of the bed. "You look like shit, Arthur."

"Thanks for that, little brother." We both laughed.

"It's good to see that you consider this a laughing matter." The Director said. "Your family will be here shortly, please just rest up before then." She then started to walk away. "Get well, Professor Leywin."

"Thanks." Arthur waved, then turned to Tessia. "It was your Beast Will, wasn't it?"

"Yeah, I lost control of it." Tessia looked at the floor. "I'm sorry, you keep needing to save me."

"It's alright, Tess."

"Should I leave you two alone?" I said with a smirk on my face. "Because I'll leave."

Tessia's face went red. "No, you can stay!"

Arthur and I laughed. "Okay." I turned to Arthur. "You know mom is going to be upset with you, because you keep getting injured."

"I know." Arthur told me. "You fought well before everything went down."

"Thanks, you didn't fight bad yourself, but I know it would have gone differently if you used all your elements."

"Maybe, but your skills have improved massively."

"That's thanks to you." I told him honestly.

"May we come in?" My mother's voice said as the door swung open, it was Mom, Dad, and Ellie. "My baby boy."

She walked up and hugged Arthur. "Who is this?" My father asked, referring to Tessia.

"That's Princess Tessia." I told them, and my parents immediately bowed to her.

"You don't have to do that." Tessia told them.

My mom and dad gave each other weird looking smirks. "So, you're the girl Arthur always talks about, it's good he has someone like you by his side." My mom told her. "Now, and possibly in the future as well." Tessia's face got red. That was evil mom.

"Arthur, how did this happen, we were told you were in a fight?" My father asked and everyone looked at him.

"He saved my life, Mr. Leywin." Tessia was still beat red as she was speaking.

"My brother risked his life for you." Ellie said with a serious expression.

"You must be Ellie, Arthur and Veer have told me a lot about you." Tessia held out a hand, but she didn't take it.

"Ellie, be nice." My mother told her.

"She's the one who bought you the bow." I told her.

"Oh." Ellie took Tessia's hand. "Thanks."

"Who was in the fight though?" My mother asked and Arthur turned to me. "You weren't fighting your brother, were you?" We both nodded our heads. "What did you guys destroy?!"

"Nothing." I spoke for Arthur. "Arthur actually left our fight to save Tessia, so I wasn't involved." I held up my hands.

"I see." My dad said with a grin. "Who was winning?"

"I think Veer." Arthur sat up against the wall.

"Really? You aren't using all your abilities, but that is impressive, Veer."

"Thanks, dad."

We stayed in the room for a while and talked about random stuff, until King and Queen Eralith showed up and my parents got to speak with them. Arthur and I talked to gramps about Tessia's new Beast Will. Some other people came and checked up on Arthur, then Director Goodsky insisted that we let him rest up.

I said goodbye to my parents and made my way to my room.
