Virion Leywin
I opened my eyes and noticed that I was laying in a bed, in a place I didn't recognize. "Veer!" My mother shouted at my side, then immediately hugged me. "My baby boy." I embraced her hug, and it filled me with warmth.
"Hey, mom." I smiled as she hugged me, I noticed that my whole body was wrapped in bandages. "What happened to Arthur?" The memories before passing out came back to me, Arthur was about to kill Lucas.
"He was taken by the Lances." My dad said as my mother let go of me. "How are you feeling champ?"
"I'm fine." I sat up and watched as Ellie and an old elf walked in, if this is after the attack on Xyrus, she must be Elder Rinia. "Hey Ellie." My sister came to the other side of my bed and hugged me. I noticed a stray tear rolling down her cheek. "Why are you crying?"
"I'm not, you idiot." We stopped hugging and she sat in the chair next to me. "And I am your big sister, get that through your head."
"Haha." I laughed. "Okay, I'm sorry, I keep forgetting."
"Veer, this is Elder Rinia." My father stood up next to her. "We are currently hiding out where she lives."
"It's nice to finally meet you, Virion." She smiled at me.
"Likewise, Elder Rinia." I sent a smile back to her.
"Veer, what happened?" My mother grabbed my hand. "Can you explain to us what really happened?"
"What don't you know?" I asked as I felt for the mana in my core, it looks like my body already started to replenish mana. I don't want to tell them what I did, but I feel like I have to.
"We know that someone attacked the school, but I mean what happened to you?" My mother tightened her hand around mine. I looked around the small room everyone was in, they all had both serious and happy expressions on their faces.
"Well, when the attack started, I was with the Disciplinary Committee, and I helped them out of sticky situation." I paused for a second. "Then after I dealt with that, I went into a courtyard and just started to help people when I could. There was mana beast running wild, enemy mages shooting spells at people, it was all just chaos." The look in my mother's eyes told me she didn't like where this was going. "This man made an announcement for all students to meet him under the clock tower, one thing led to another, and Elijah broke the barrier that was dividing us."
Ellie cut me off. "Elijah, is he alright."
I shook my head. "No, they took him after he passed out, that's when everyone started to rush the enemy, and where I took on Lucas." I looked down at my chest. "I would have beaten him if I didn't use up my mana in the battles earlier."
"They took Elijah?" My mother asked, and I nodded my head. "That poor boy." She didn't know that the poor boy was going to be back one day as an enemy.
"Veer, we are proud of you." My father patted my leg. "I heard you saved a lot of people, even Princess Tessia."
"I wouldn't say I saved her, Arthur did that when he took down Lucas." I told them honestly. "Lucas was trying to leave though, and I stopped him."
"That's my boy." My father said proudly. "Are you hungry?"
"I could go for some food." He left the room and came back with a plate. "Thanks." I took the plate from him. "I'm assuming you don't know how Arthur is doing right now." He should be here at some point; I just didn't know when.
"No, we don't." Ellie spoke up, as I ate a piece of meat.
"Alright, I figured since he wasn't here." Arthur was going to tell them about his reincarnation, but I couldn't allow that. My plan to deal with the death of my father is to have Arthur not tell them. They joined the war because they felt like they had to after Arthur revealed everything. If he doesn't, they'll stay in the Floating Castle and be safe.
"What's wrong?" My mother asked, there was one thing they needed to know about me. "I can see that you want to tell us something, Veer."
I nodded. "You know me well mom." I laughed. "There's something that I never told you guys." I looked at Elder Rinia. "You may already know." She nodded her head, I knew it.
"What is it?" My mother now had an even more worried expression.
I sat up a little more and looked into her eyes. "Mom, I can assure you it's not bad." She seemed to relax a little. "When I was younger, I had an idea to create my own elemental type of magic."
"What?!" My dad stopped me from going any further.
"Let me explain before you ask anything." I paused and looked at him, he nodded his head. "I had the idea, but it took a while to get it all set up." I stopped; it was hard to explain how I thought of it. "Let's just say that I am a Blood Deviant." Everyone's eyes except for Elder RInia went wide in disbelief. "Before any of you say anything." I raised my hand at my father. "I was the one who caused the guard's arm to explode at the Auction House, but that was an accident."
"Blood Deviant?" My mother looked deeply into my eyes. "You aren't joking." I shook my head no. "That-that's impossible."
"Why didn't you tell us?" My dad was on his feet now in shock.
"Can you just control people's blood?" Ellie asked before I could answer my dad.
"I didn't tell anyone because I knew that a power like this could be dangerous, so not saying anything was the best option, there was only one person that new." I turned to Ellie. "Yes, I can control the blood in you."
"That's scary." She said plainly.
"Exactly why I didn't tell anyone."
"Who did you tell?" I turned back to my mother.
"I told Elder Virion when I was in Elenoir, he helped me learn to control it, so that nothing like the guard incident happened again." They were taking it a lot better than I expected.
"That is quite the ability." My dad was thinking about it thoughtfully. "What else can you do?"
"Haha, I thought you guys were going to be mad at me, this wasn't the reaction I was expecting." My dad's interest in my ability made me laugh, Ellie didn't look right, I think she was jealous.
"Why would we be mad at you, dear?" My mother rubbed my arm. "You had a good reason not to tell us that."
"She's right, an ability like that would be sought after, I'm sure Elder Virion told you that." My dad sent me a warm smile.
"He did." I smiled back.
"So, what else can you do?"
"I have the ability to heal people using blood healing techniques."
"Really?" My mother was surprised by this.
"Yeah, I can also remove the ability to use magic from people." I said this and they all went silent, I might as well explain it. "I can move blood around their core, and basically shut it off from the outside world so they can't use mana."
"Th-that's incredible." My father and mother didn't know how to react to this part of the ability. "Let's not talk about magic anymore, thank you for telling us, Veer."
It felt really good to get that off my chest, and it was even better that they didn't care that I kept it a secret. I mean it was for good reasons, I still needed to tell Arthur. He was going to be gone for the next two years training with the Asuras. I was going to need to train as well, it wasn't that I lost to Lucas, it was more that I couldn't fight for a long period of time. That was either because I wasn't smart when I was using mana, or my core wasn't strong enough yet.
Oh shit! Windsom is going to be here, I forgot that he shows up. It's not a big deal but knowing what I know about the Dragons and their past. I don't really want to meet him, even if he was considered to be a god of this world.
However, thinking about it, they aren't fully gods if they bleed, and if they bleed, they have blood, which I can control. I just needed to get stronger, I don't know how, or if I can, but I need to get to white core, or reach past white core. I've been stuck on light yellow for a while now. I needed to make a push into silver.
Of course, I'm not saying that I should make the asuras fear me, I would just feel safer knowing that I could defend myself against one if I had to. Not at my current level, but if I got strong enough in the future, then I could.
"Veer, do you want some more?" My father asked as I finished my plate of food.
"No, I'm good, thanks." I smiled as I placed my plate on my lap.
"Let me take that." Elder Rinia reached out her hand, and my mother picked up the plate and gave it to her.
"Thank you, Elder Rinia." My mother and I spoke at the same time. She left the little room we were in, and I started to move my body so that I could get off the bed.
"What are you doing? You should stay in bed." My mother placed a hand on my shoulder.
"The wounds are gone, I was just experiencing mana depletion mom, and I already am halfway back to normal." I slid my feet off the bed, stood up, and cracked my back. "I want to go sit by the fire." I also just wanted to stretch my legs.
"Okay, just be careful." We all moved to the fire and sat around it together. It felt good to be with them again, the war was starting, I didn't know if we would have a moment like this again.
"Ellie, how has your training been going?" I asked.
"Pretty good, Helen has been helping me." She answered me. "Nowhere as strong as you with your blood powers."
"Maybe, but just keep practicing." As I looked at Ellie I smiled. "You may not be as powerful as Arthur and me, but if you get strong enough you can protect us from a distance." I was thinking about the future, when she learns a lot of different tricks with the types of arrows she uses.
"I will, don't you worry." Ellie smiled; it looked like she regained herself.
Thinking about Elder Rinia, does she know that I am a reincarnate? She had too, she already knew that I was a Blood Deviant, which means I was in a future vision she had.
I wish I had her abilities of foresight; besides the drawbacks, I rather not die faster from using an ability. I hope that's not a drawback from using blood magic, I don't see how it would be though. I wonder if blood magic has drawbacks, I haven't felt any yet.
"Mom, where is Aunty Tabitha and Uncle Vincent?"
"In Xyrus, they are helping with the cleanup at the Academy." My mother answered, that was what I thought.
"I see." I wonder if I'll ever see them again, I took a peek into my mana ring, crap I knew it. "Did someone grab my sword?" The only sword I had in my ring was the elven one.
"No, why?" My dad looked at me curiously.
"Damn, I don't have it on me."
"Watch your mouth!" My mother shot me a glare.
"That's not even a bad word, mom." I told her truthfully.
"It's a bad word if I say it is." I nodded my head, not trying to fight with her about it. My dad was smiling though.
"Do you think I'll ever get my sword back?"
"Probably not." Damn, haha, I liked that sword. "We'll get you a new sword, Veer." My dad assured me.
"It's fine." I pulled out the elven one. "I still have this one."
"Oh, the one from Princess Tessia." Ellie exclaimed to me.
"Yeah." I told her.
"Hey, is there any food left for me?" Someone called out from the entrance of the cave; I turned and saw Arthur.
"Big Brother!" Ellie shouted as she got up and ran to him.
