I was sitting around our fire with Callias and Samantha as we waited for our next orders, the captains of the squads that remained were currently in with Commander Xander who questioned me a little further, and he seemed to find me pretty interesting.

"That was ruff yesterday." Callias said as he recalled what happened yesterday, and the people I didn't know, but lost. "I bet they are going to send more mages here and have us join them." I nodded; he was probably right.

A portal frame opened near the center of the base, and three people walked through. "Who is that?" Samantha asked as we all stood up, and I sighed. "What is it, Veer?" The two of them looked at me.

"Shit!" I took my mask off aggressively and threw it to the ground, and then started to walk to the tent they walked into, which was where the captains were meeting.

"He's just a kid?" Callias stared at me in shock, Samantha didn't say anything just stared as well. I ignored them, as I got closer to the main tent, but Callias ran up and started walking with me. "How old are you? You can't be in your teens."

"I'm nine." I told him Samantha didn't move but stayed back near the fire. "You just remember who saved your ass." I gave him a cold glare and stood at the entrance of the tent.

"I know, I --." Callias was cut off by Commander Xander's voice.

"Commander Virion, what brings you here?" Callias shot me a look of confusion, and I rolled my eyes. I liked fighting beside Callias, and I didn't want to leave already. I opened the tent and they all turned to me. "Who are --?" He didn't finish, he realized who I was.

"Gramps, Aldir, dad, I guess you found me." I ran a hand through my ash brown hair, and my dad ran up to me, and hugged me. "Hey, dad."

"What did you think you were doing?" He asked me, as he continued to hug me. "The Iron Tombs are dangerous."

"Gramps?" Callias said from my side.

"Virion, what you did here was irresponsible." Elder Virion told me, as my dad kept an arm around me, but I was now facing everyone. "However, I've heard what you did, and I have to say, good job."

"I would have never put him out in the field if I knew, Commander." Commander Xander bowed to Elder Virion. "Please forgive me."

"Oh, your fine, Xander, I'm afraid this kid could take out your whole squad by himself." Elder Virion smiled at me. "That's why we discussed it on our way over, Rey, would you like to tell him what we decided?"

I stopped my dad from talking. "I hope you know I'm not coming back; I just want you to know that before you continue." They all looked at me. "I actually enjoy the team I was placed on; this is Callias, he's my friend." Everyone looked at him.

"H-hey." He waved, then bowed. "Nice to meet you all." Seems he gets a little nervous in front of high ranking officials.

"Thank you for fighting with my son." My dad sent him a smile.

"Virion, please let your father explain, he has no intention of bringing you back." Aldir spoke calmly. "Even though your mother is going to be upset." I looked up at my dad and waited for him to talk.

"Son, being here with strangers, even if they are kind." He looked at Callias, then back to me. "Is not what a nine year old should be doing, however, I understand you aren't a normal kid, like your brother. Your mother and I might think that you should come back, but I know that you won't." He placed both arms on my shoulders and held me at arm's length apart. "Elder Virion is going to have the Twin Horns come here and aid your squad, I'll feel a lot better if you are here with them, I'm sure your mother will come around eventually."

"Does that mean I have to leave my team?" I would be upset but not completely, I was being given permission to stay, I'll take it.

"If they want you gone because you are a kid, then yes, but I'll talk to them." Elder Virion spoke up.

"Nope." Callias said quickly. "I owe this kid my life, we'll want him to stay." He slapped my back. "I'll also keep an eye on him."

"That's fine, as long as the Twin Horns are here, you can stay, but because of your mother, you need to come back to the Floating Castle at least once every two months for a week." I was basically now doing what Arthur did when he was younger, but in a war.

"Also." Elder Virion cut in. "If they come across Alacryans here, you are not allowed to fight them, you must retreat, and I'll inform everyone about it, before we leave." Yeah, that wasn't happening.

"Okay." I answered. "That's fine with me, it will be nice to fight alongside the Twin Horns." I haven't fought with them yet. "Wait, what about if we find a mutated mana beast?"

"You can fight it as long as the Twin Horns are present, they are going to be acting as your protectors, plus I'll talk to your team captain about it as well." I can't wait to fight a mutated mana beast. "Even though it seems like you have been the protector so far of the people here."

"With his blood magic, he can kill mana beast with ease." Callias chimed in.

"You told him about your magic?" Elder Virion shot me a look of concern.

"My whole team had the right to know." Everyone already pretty much knows, because of the attack on Xyrus. "It's fine, gramps." I assured him. "I'm assuming you are bringing soldiers here to aid us."

"We are." It wasn't just the Twin Horns coming, but a whole new force. "If the mana beast in this dungeon have weapons, that means Alacryans were here." I nodded my head, knowing that already. "So be careful." Elder Virion started to walk by me, then stopped. "Take this though." He handed me a mana ring. "Put it on your other hand." He smiled and walked away.

"Virion." Aldir stared at me and followed Elder Virion.

"Dad, thank you." I looked up at him. "I'll make you proud."

"Veer." He grabbed my head and pulled me into another hug. "You already did." He held me a little longer and then let go. "Remember the dungeons are unpredictable, be smart, think before you act if you can, rely on your instincts if you can't." I nodded. "You'll be fine."

"I know that." I told him as Elder Virion came walking in.

"Xander, I'll send you info of what is to be done here when I get back." He told him, then turned away, giving me one last head nod.

"Yes, Commander Virion." Commander Xander bowed, I forgot he was here. Why is he in the corner of the room?

"I'll see you soon." My father waved as he followed after Aldir and Elder Virion.

It was now Commander Xander, Callias, and I in the main tent. "I thought the captains were in here." Callias asked.

"They went out the back when Elder Virion, and the two men showed up, little did he know the man wearing the hood was a god basically. Actually, he was the destroyer of his kingdom.

"Oh well, looks like you're staying with us kid." Callias went to punch me, but I sidestepped before he did. "Come on." We made our way out of the tent, and back to the fire. "I'm not going to treat you any different, I still know what you're capable of."

"Good." I replied back to him. "And you have to promise me not to baby me in situations when our lives are on the line."

"No, I don't, our lives are always on the line." I tilted my head, that was true in here. "Victoria might see it a different way though."

We got to the fire and Samantha stood up. "You're still here." She smiled at me. "Does that mean you're staying on our team."

"He is." Callias said as he sat down around the fire.

I sat on the log next to Samantha, and she sat down as well. "That's good, you saved my life, Veer, I don't care how old you are, you have my respect."

"Wait." Callias pointed his finger at me. "Your name isn't Veer, it's Virion, should we call you that now?"

I shook my head. "No, people call me Veer, it's a nickname, that's probably how they found me." I just didn't think it would be this quick, it's good they didn't try to drag me back to the Floating Castle. "I knew that eventually they would find me, so I just used a name I was already familiar with."

"I see." Victoria said from behind me. "I was just informed about you, Veer, seems you were a runaway child." I shrugged. "It doesn't matter now, you are staying, which means your life is still my responsibility, so you have to listen to me." She sat down across from me. "I know you already do, which is why I'm not mad about this arrangement, I also know what you can do."

I still rather be alone inside the dungeons, but this works for now. I was going to be seeing the Twin Horns again, which is a plus.

"Veer, how do you know Commander Virion?" Victoria asked me.

I looked around as my team stared at me. "He was one of the people who trained me, my brother introduced me to him."

"What do you mean one of the people? Shouldn't he have been enough?" Callias asked a follow up question.

"I mean, I was trained by my father and brother." I told them then tilted my head and said. "Also, Lance Aya." They all looked at me in shock, I wasn't going to bring up Aldir since they didn't know he was a god.

"No wonder you're a trained killer at nine." Callias joked. "I didn't even awaken as a a mage at nine." Imagine if I told them I was one when I awakened. "And you're a mid silver core, I mean unbelievable." Everyone laughed.

"Wait, your brother." Samantha exclaimed. "Where is he? He must be extremely strong by now."

"My brother has gotten a lot stronger since he was an adventurer." I told her honestly. "Unfortunately, I don't know where he is." I had to lie there though.

"Oh, is he fighting in a dungeon somewhere?" Everyone was still just eyeing me up, I started to play with the mana ring Elder Virion gave to me.

"Not exactly." I wonder wants inside of the ring, I infused mana and started to go through the stuff in it.

"Are you going to wear your mask anymore?" Callias asked, as I noticed the mask laying on the ground five feet from me. "And the cloak?"

"I'll continue to wear the cloak, there's no need for the mask now." I'll keep it in my mana ring, in case anything happens, and I need it.
