(Three Months Later)
I was currently in the back yard alone, practicing manipulating mana. I wasn't sure, but I think everyone except for me went in to Xyrus. I didn't feel like walking around today, I was too tired.
Arthur has been training with me every day since he returned. I could already tell the difference in my battle strength. Yet, I still could not use attributed mana, I could only move it around. I just couldn't form anything with it.
Arthur said it was going to take some time to figure what type of elemental I was, but I may not be one. I might just have pure mana manipulation.
I was still developing my Blood Deviant magic if it was even called that.
Every time I had a wound from training or playing with Ellie and Lilia, I would place some of my pure mana and the water mana in the atmosphere inside of my blood.
At this very moment, I could move the mana throughout my body. I felt the blood around it, I just needed my water attributed mana to activate. Then I could test my theory, if I was right, this Blood Deviant magic would put me up there in strength.
Blood runs throughout your body, including in your brain. I mean, I don't know how magic works, but if I'm right I should be able to do something with someone's brain.
All of this was just a theory though, I still didn't know if it was possible, let alone what would happen if it worked. It is weird to think about, I know pretty much everything about this world, past, present, and the future, yet this is the first thing I don't know anything about. Would I literally be able to just manipulate someone's blood in their body? That would be amazing.
I held out my hand and watched as the different colors of mana danced around in my hand. I wasn't controlling them; I was just watching as the mana did its own thing. It allowed me to think about the future with ease.
Like for instance, the war, I'll be eight when Arthur leaves, and ten when he returns. That's when the real battles begin, but would I even be allowed to fight in it. I'll be a ten year old. If I was strong enough, I could convince them.
What am I even thinking? Do I really think that I could fight in a war? I was good with a sword now, not great, but could I kill some? I could probably kill a mana beast, but that is totally different. Taking a life from a person is scary to think about.
Let's just go back to the war, we know that Agrona's goals are to take over Dicathen and capture Tessia. I wonder if I should just protect Tessia, wouldn't that solve everything. Agrona would still take over Dicathen though. However, if Arthur can get his Aether core, he can retake Dicathen with ease. As long as I didn't allow Tessia to be captured, my family would be safe.
Well, I would have to also save my father at the wall, I could leave Tessia for a little. She doesn't get captured until after the war. That's if my presence doesn't change anything, which I'm assuming it will.
Will I just make everything worse? I hope not.
I forgot about the dwarves, some of them are working with Alacrya. I won't think about that at all, there is not a single thing I could say, to make Humans and Elves investigate. If anything, I'll get in trouble.
Lance Olfred was working for Alacrya, I knew that for sure. He gets taken care of; I don't really need to worry about that. Unless, dealing with him sooner benefits us. I don't see how it would since that's when we take down Retainer Uto as well.
My brain hurts.
"What are you doing Veer?" Lilia called out to me from the stairs as she was walking down.
The mana disappeared as I turned to her. "I was just thinking."
"About what?"
The Downfall of Dicathen, is what I wanted to say.
"The future."
"Oh really, what about the future?" Lilia was standing now in front me.
"I'll keep that to myself."
"Fine, everyone is back if you want to join us." She paused and looked up the stairs. "Your mother sent me to tell you."
"I'll be inside shortly."
I watched as Lilia walked back up the stairs. "You shouldn't stay out here for too long." She said as she went back inside.
Ahh, fine. I walked up the stairs and entered the mansion. I quickly caught up to Lilia. "What did you guys do in Xyrus?"
"We really just looked around; I think Arthur might have gotten a couple things."
"Did you get anything?"
"No, I didn't see anything I liked."
We entered the the living room where my mom, Tabitha, and Ellie were sitting on the couch. I looked around the room, Arthur wasn't here. "Your big brother went to his room with Sylvie, he was tired." My mother said as I walked up to her. She picked me up and placed me next to her. "I hope you behaved yourself for the servants."
"I did mom." I literally just stood outside as they cleaned the house. I didn't need anything from them. I usually don't, except that one time, which I told myself that I would never bring up. I accidentally used our stove without permission and lit my food on fire. It happened once.
"If they tell me you did something, there's going to be consequences."
"Mom, I didn't." I leaned into her, as she wrapped her arm around me.
"Alright, I'll believe you. What were you doing outside, training?"
"No."
"He said he was thinking about the future." Lilia, who was sitting with Ellie, spoke up.
"The future?" My mom turned to me.
"Yeah, I want to get stronger, so I can protect you mom."
"Haha, thank your Veer." She hugged me.
"Veer, let's go make Arthur show us his magic." Ellie stood up and looked at me.
"No."
"Come on!" She said with a smile.
"Fine." She started to run towards Arthur's room, and I got down of the couch and ran after her.
"Be careful you two!" My mother yelled.
We got to his room and Ellie opened his door without knocking and I followed her inside. Arthur and Sylvie were on their bed, Arthur was looking at us with his blue eyes. Sylvie was asleep on one of Arthur's pillows.
"Hey you two." Ellie and I jumped on Arthur's bed. "What do you guys want?"
"Can you show us your magic again?" Ellie and I were now laying on his bed. Arthur was sitting up looking at us.
"You two are spoiled you know that." He held out his hand. "I'll show you a little."
A fire lit up in his palm and wind started to swarm around it. I couldn't wait to be able to do that. Ellie and I watched wide eyed in amazement. I could watch Arthur perform magic for hours.
"Show us your lightning magic!" Ellie's brown eyes were sparkling as she looked up, mine probably were as well. Arthur's hand with fire and wind magic, started to buzz with electricity.
"Awesome." I said.
Arthur dismissed his magic. "Alright you two, I shouldn't be using my magic in here."
"Big brother!" Ellie said sadly. "Please, just a little more."
"Yeah, come on." I wanted to see what I had the possibility of doing in the future.
"Nope." Arthur smiled at us. "You know mom wouldn't be happy."
"Ahh." Ellie started to pout, and Arthur patted her head.
"How about a story?" Arthur looked down at me as I was sprawled out on his bed, then he turned to Ellie who was laying like I was on the other side.
"Yeah! Tell us about your time in Elenoir." Ellie asked excitedly.
"Sure."
I just looked up at my brother as he told us his story. Even though I knew what happened, just being here with Ellie and him made me happy. I didn't want this time with him to end, but I knew it would.
---
"Look at them Arthur, they both fell asleep on your bed." I heard my mom's voice. I must have fallen asleep during Arthur's story. I slowly opened my eyes. "Veer, if you keep sleeping you won't be able to sleep tonight." My mom bent down and picked me up. "Art, can you wake Ellie up?"
I buried my head in my mom's shoulder. "I'm tired though."
"You can just go to bed early tonight sweetie."
"Okay."
Arthur spoke to Ellie. "Do you want to see some magic, Ellie?"
Ellie shot up out of sleep. "Yes."
"Just kidding, maybe later."
"Big brother, that was mean."
"I'm sorry Ellie." Arthur got up out of bed. "Let's go."
We all walked out of the room, except that I was still in my mother's arms. The perks of being the youngest.
I missed my mom from my old life; however, I was thankful that I got a great mom in this life. She has been nothing but caring. I couldn't imagine life without her now.
My father, who showed the same care she did, meant just as much to me. I didn't have a father in my old life, well I did, but he died when I was around one. I never met him.
Arthur, Ellie, and even Lilia were all siblings to me, that I loved.
I was truly happy.
For now, at least.
