Chapter 6: The Auction House

My Beginning After the EndWords: 10537

Uncle Vincent and Aunty Tabitha lead us to a booth in the Auction House with no one in it. I knew this day would come eventually, it's time to see if I can change events without making them worse.

Dad was working to make sure nothing happened tonight at the auction, so it was Arthur, Mom, Aunty Tabitha, Uncle Vincent, Lilia, Ellie and I in the booth alone. I knew that sooner or later the King and Queen would arrive.

Ellie was on my mother's lap, Arthur was sitting alone with Sylvie, and I was sitting on the edge of the booth looking below us at the ground gathering for the auction. It made me realize how important the Helstea's were.

"Vincent, so these are the guest that you were talking about." A manly voice was heard throughout the room, but I zoned on the people below.

"I hope you don't mind, your majesty." At the sound of Uncle Vincent's voice change. I turned and noticed that the royal family had arrived. The first person I looked at though, was Sebastian, the one that would go after Sylvie.

I noticed my mom, with Ellie in her arms, and Arthur next to her, bowing to the royal family. I just looked away, no one seemed to notice me. I also have no clue how to handle being in the presence of royalty. I know how Arthur did it in the books, but this is real now.

"These are the Leywins, friends of ours." Uncle Vincent spoke again.

"It's a pleasure to meet you Mrs. Leywin." The King still spoke in such a manly voice. "There is no need for formalities we are all here for the same reasons."

"Thank you, your majesty." My mother must have started to look around and noticed that I was still looking down at the people. "Oh my, Veer! Come greet King Blaine." What?

"Kyu." Sylvie jumped up onto Arthur's head as I was walking toward them, which was good because everyone's attention turned away from me. I stood next to my mom's leg.

"Is that bond?" King Blaine asked.

"Yes, I bonded with her, right after she hatched." Arthur grabbed Sylvie from above his head. "Sylvie say hi."

"Kyu!"

Sebastian's eyes were lit up. "That bond!" He ran up to Arthur. "May I take a closer look?"

"Not here Sebastian." King Blaine ordered, and he backed away. King Blaine then turned to me. "And who might this be?" Really? He didn't say anything to Ellie.

I bowed my head. "It's a pleasure to meet you, King Blaine, my name is Virion, but people call me Veer."

"Haha, like the King, from the elves?" I nodded my head. "A respectful name, it's a pleasure to meet you as well." I couldn't tell if he was offended or not.

I know that King Blaine and Queen Priscilla will turn their backs on Arthur in the future, but they are a very nice King and Queen. Even though they don't look it, they look kind of standoffish.

"Veer is my youngest, Arthur with the bond is my oldest, and this is Ellie, the middle child." My mother smiled as she spoke about us.

"Such a lovely family." Queen Priscilla said.

"Thank you." My mom bowed again, as we all moved to the couch overlooking the event. I was sitting next to Arthur. Uncle Vincent left however, due to the fact that he needs to run the event.

"Mrs. Leywin, has Arthur awakened as a mage yet, our son Curtis and our daughter Kathyln plan on attending Xyrus when the time is right. It would be nice for them to have someone there they know, since they don't get out of the palace that often." Queen Priscilla asked worried that their children wouldn't have any friends, but who wouldn't be nice to the King and Queen's children.

"Actually, both my sons have awakened." Oof, mom that was not necessary. You did not need to bring me into this. "And Arthur does plan on going to Xyrus Academy."

"What did you say?" King Blaine turned to my mother in shock, same with the Queen. "Did you say both of your sons?" My mother nodded her head and the royal family looked at me. I saluted them, not sarcastically, I was just acknowledging that my mother was right.

"How old is Veer?" The Queen asked my mother.

"He is around four." Their eyes grew even larger.

I felt Sebastian staring, so I told Arthur. "I'm pretty sure that guy wants to take Sylvie." I whispered into his ear.

"That is unprecedented!" King Blaine was looking at me.

"It's okay Veer, I'll handle it." Arthur spoke with such a calm voice.

I should just comment that Arthur was a quadra elemental, so they would stop talking about me.

"Wow, truly amazing, you must be proud of your two children. One awakened at such a young age and one already can attend Xyrus." Queen Priscilla smiled at my mother.

"Yes I am." My mother said as she smiled over at us.

Sylvie jumped onto my lap, and I held her. I saw her eyes close as she nuzzled up on me. "Can you watch Sylvie; I'm going to get a drink?" Arthur got up from his seat and walked away.

I noticed that Princess Kathyln was staring over at Sylvie with a plain face, no expression on. It kinda made me laugh.

I wanted my own bond, but that wouldn't happen. Unless I steal Boo from Ellie, that could have drastic drawback. Possibly costing Ellie her life, so I can't do that.

Sylvie lifted her head and looked at me. "Hey Sylvie." I started to pet her head.

"Kyu."

"Sylvie, could you do me a favor while you are out adventuring with Arthur?" I whispered quietly. "Hunt down a S Rank mana beast for me with a beast will inside of it."

"Kyu!" Sylvie exclaimed. I looked over at Arthur grabbing a drink, and it didn't seem like Sylvie relayed the message to him. That's good, I didn't want him to be mad at me. Also, I had no clue if Sylvie gave me a yes or no. She just nuzzled back up into my lap.

"Thanks."

It seemed like everything was going well, the Royal family, my mom, and Aunty Tabitha were talking. Lilia and Ellie were playing behind everyone. Arthur and I were sitting away from everyone now. Sylvie was still on my lap sleeping. Sebastian was still stalking his prey, well, I don't know if that's the right phrase. He's really Arthur's prey, but I guess at the moment Sylvie is his prey. The event went on, Curtis got his lion that he'll bond with in the future.

"I need a drink, Sylvie." I picked her sleeping body up. "You want to go to big brother, or do you want to go on the top of my head?"

"Kyu.." Sylvie said quietly and jumped out of my hands and to the top of my head.

"She likes you Veer." Arthur smiled as I walked to get a glass of water. Luckily for me, there were glasses on a low shelf and the water was easily reachable.

"Hey there, little ones." I turned around after pouring a drink, and Sebastian was smiling at Sylvie. Damn, this man was goddamn creepy. "Let me see her." He went to reach for Sylvie.

I reinforced my hands with mana and swatted his arms away from Sylvie. "Excuse me! I'm like eighty percent sure that's not how a royal guard should act."

He held his arms where I hit him. "Give me the bond, brat."

"Errr!" Sylvie started to growl at Sebastian.

I reached up and patted her head. "It's okay Sylvie, this moron won't touch us."

"Oh really." He started to get closer to me. "Just let me see the bond brat."

Then a breath taking pressure took over the room. I started to feel my throat close as I turned to Arthur staring at Sebastian in front of me. I quickly took a couple of deep breaths and calmed myself, knowing that this was my brother's presence. The entire room felt it, but didn't know where it was coming from, except for Sebastian and me.

Sebastian looked at Arthur in fear. "Please step away from my younger brother." Sebastian didn't say anything, he just moved away from us as fast as he could. The pressure that Arthur was emitting disappeared, as he smiled at me. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I was fine."

"What in the world was that!" I heard King Blaine shout. "Someone find the person responsible for that killing pressure." The guards started to leave the booth, but Sebastian just stared at Arthur and me.

Arthur took Sylvie from me, and we both went over to where everyone was panicking. However, on my way, being me, knowing what happens, I bowed my head sarcastically at Sebastian. As I did, I noticed something.

On Sebastian's right leg, he had a cut, and I could see that it was bleeding recently. I haven't been able to practice on anyone since I didn't want to hurt someone on accident. I have no clue what will happen if it works, but Sebastian is a perfect test subject.

As everyone was rushing around trying to figure out what exactly that pressure was, I started to feel for the water mana in the air. I couldn't produce anything with the mana, but I could move it. I think that means in time, I'll be able to use it more efficiently and I was most likely a quadra elemental like Arthur.

I felt the water mana near his leg and moved it in to his wound. I felt the mana start to move along his veins. He didn't seem to notice, which was a good sign. I wasn't going to try anything unless he did something, which I know he will.

My dad came walking in. "We caught the guy that was trying to steal, Vincent."

Uncle Vincent finally caught his breath. "Good work, Rey."

A shiver ran up my spine, what was this feeling. I turned to Sebastian, I felt the mana talking to me, like it was trying to communicate with me. Why was I feeling like this? I just shook it off and walked near my mother as the King approached my dad. Arthur was now standing next to my dad.

"Good work, the crown appreciates your service." The King said to my father.

"Your majesty, I thank you." My father bowed, then it happened. Sebastian walked up to the King and whispered something, then backed away with a smile. I backed up into my mother's leg.

"Veer, did you have fun tonight?" She asked me, not knowing what was about to go down.

"Yeah, mom." I held on to her leg and watched. She rested a hand on my head.

"Is this your son?" The King looked at Arthur but was talking to my dad.

"Yes, why? Did my son do something?"

"No, I would like to give his bond to my royal guard, Sebastian here. We would compensate you well with anything you would like."

My dad hesitated. "I can't accept that, your majesty. Arthur formed the bond by himself. It's not up to me."

"Would you be willing to give up your bond?" The King titled his head at Arthur.

Arthur glared up at him. "No, your majesty, my bond is like my child. I care too much for her."

"How dare you decline an offer from the King?" Sebastian shouted. I took a couple deep breaths and felt for the mana I placed in his blood.

"Then how about a trade?" The King asked Arthur again.

"I will not, and never will, give up my bond." Arthur spoke in a cold tone that sent shivers down everyone's back.
