(Three Months Later)
Arthur began his journey as an adventurer a week ago, and I have to say. The six months he spent training me went very well. My ability with a sword skyrocketed, and after I gained control over of my attributed mana. He helped with that as well, over the last three months.
Turns out I was not a quadra elemental.
My water magic was my strength, It was probably because of all the time I spent trying to control it in my blood. There aren't many powerful water spells, but my control over those spells grew with each day.
At the moment, if I wanted to use blood deviant magic, I needed to get water attributed mana into their blood. I wasn't strong enough to just control the blood without mana, ever though water is already inside the blood. I believe in time; I'll be able to control blood without having to place mana in someone's body. The more my body gets in tune with water and blood, the easier it will become.
Arthur also helped me with my Ice Deviant powers, he taught me a couple of neat tricks and spells. I had a few spell ideas of my own with the ice element, and I was certain in time as my core grew stronger, I would be able to perform them.
I was still at the light red stage of my core. I couldn't break into the orange stage for some reason.
I also had control over the fire element, I was so happy when I finally got a flame to form in my hand. Of course, my mother yelled at me because I was in the house. I didn't have the best of track records with fire, ever since I lit the stove on fire. It only happened once, but they bring it up all the time.
Sadly, it turned out I was not a Lightning Deviant, or I wasn't yet. Arthur said that there was still a slim chance that I could be one, but for now I couldn't use any lightning magic. This was actually really bad news; I was getting faster with my movements. My mana enhancements helped me a lot, but I was counting on being able to use an electric spell to make me faster. I was going to have to come up with some other way to compete with others' speed.
My last and final element, which made me a tri elemental was wind. It was a pretty easy concept to understand and perform. I was better with wind magic than fire magic. If any of my elements were going to help me get faster, it was wind. I had a couple of ideas, but I needed to increase my core. My mana manipulation wasn't good enough yet.
I might not have been a Lightning Deviant in the fire element, but luckily for me I was a Sound Deviant. This was something that I didn't really want, but there are a lot of things you can do with sound magic. Now, sound at the right frequency can destroy anything, getting it to that frequency is the issue. I did wonder though, could sound destroy spells filled with mana. That didn't seem possible since the spell you would be using had mana in it. If anything, it could counter a spell, maybe not get rid of it.
That means I have six elements to work with Water, Fire, Wind, Ice, Blood, and Sound.
I was standing on the front porch looking down at the incoming adventurer party. The Twin Horns were here, without Jasmine who was with Arthur.
"Look how big you've grown." Helen said as she walked up the stairs in front of me. Ellie was inside, so she was speaking to me.
"Hi, Helen."
"Is it true you are a tri elemental?"
"Yeah."
"I told you, a monster like his brother." Adam chimed in as he rubbed my head, walking past me into the mansion. "Where's your father?"
"He should be in the living room."
"Come on, walk with us." I walked between Angela and Helen. Durden followed behind Adam. "You got the two elements you wanted, plus an additional one."
"Yeah, it's exciting."
"Your also an ice and sound deviant we heard." Helen slapped my back. "Adams right, your just like your brother."
"I can't even compare myself to him. He is a hundred times better with a sword than I am." Maybe not a hundred, but if we fought ten times, he would win ten times.
"That doesn't mean you can't ever catch up to him." Helen said as we made our way into the living room. "Remember to use brain Veer, that's the most important thing in a fight." She paused for a second. "Having brains is better than having strength." I would have to disagree with that, but I'll accept the kind gesture from Helen.
"Thanks, Helen." I smiled at her.
My dad and mom were standing greeting Adam and Durden. "Helen, it's good to see you." My father called out after talking with Adam.
"Rey, Alice, where's little Ellie?"
My mother smiled and spoke up. "She is with Lilia messing around somewhere in the mansion."
"Why aren't you with them Veer?" Helen asked me.
"I was playing with my magic." Something I did a lot of because it didn't exist in my old life.
"Mind a little show and tell?"
"Why not."
"How about a quick spar with me?" Adam asked, and I immediately knew what that would entail.
Arthur was training me to be both an Augmenter and Conjurer, which I planned on doing even if he didn't help. That did not mean I could keep up with Adam in a fight, like Arthur did one year younger than me. Even if he was going easy, I still don't feel confident in my abilities yet.
"Yeah! That would be great!" My father exclaimed.
"Not again." My mother said.
I immediately backed her up. "I agree with mom, I just started incorporating elements into my fighting style." I've only had my attributed mana control for the last three months. I still had tons to learn before I started sparring.
"Are you scared?" Adam poked at me.
That wasn't going to work though. "Yes."
"Haha, your brother would have jumped in joy, if he was given the opportunity to beat me up."
"Don't listen to him Veer. We understand that you're young and might be a little scared to fight." Helen tried to make me feel better, but she inferred that I was scared to fight. I was more afraid of losing and embarrassing myself.
"You spar with Arthur and I all the time Veer. Why don't you want to spar with Adam?" My father really wanted me to spar for some reason. "You are strong, you just lack confidence."
"He spars with you Rey?" Adam titled his head at him.
"Yeah, all the time. Arthur has been training him, so I've been helping out when I can."
"Arthur has been training him?"
"Yeah."
Adam turned and looked at me. "If that monster trained you, then you have to be at least a little decent." That was not a false statement, I actually agreed with it. "One quick sparring session."
---
I was somehow convinced into sparring with Adam, you think a group of adults would choose to fight with one another. However, these adults wanted to watch a grown man fight a four year old.
Everyone was standing or sitting on the stairs looking down at us. It seems like everyone joined us Ellie, Lilia, Uncle Vincent, and Aunty Tabitha were all here now.
I was facing Adam with my wooden sword; he had his spear in hand. "Let's see what you got."
I started to reinforce my legs with mana, to make me faster. I got ready to start, I was planning on losing as fast as possible.
I held my sword in front of me, with my feet together, then backed into a running stance. I took a deep breath as I started to activate a spell.
"I won't use any magic except reinforcing my body, you do whatever." Adam was smirking, I just mentally shrugged. "Come at me when you're ready."
I activated my spell that I mastered on my own. "Water Helix"Â Â Water started to appear around me in little groups, it wasn't a complete shield but a mobile one. It moved as I wanted around me or could be used as a long distance spell that shoots water. I was proud of this spell; it basically immobilizes fire.
Once I get a better grasp on ice magic, I'll find a way to interpret it. I couldn't keep this spell up for long since my core was so weak, so I launched myself at Adam immediately.
With the mana in my legs, I appeared right in front of Adam and swung at his torso, and as he went to block my attack, I feinted to the other side, something Arthur taught me. The water surrounded both of us now.
As I swung my sword at his torso, with his spear coming back to defend the feint. I brought down water from behind me, making him have to decide which one to block.
However, Adam quickly and smoothly dodged the attacks like snake, and backed away from me. The water grouped back up and started streaming again around me.
Adam swung his spear at my head, and I ducked my head. As I was doing this, I thought about how dumb it was that I was fighting with a wooden sword. Even if it's reinforced with mana, it's still going to be weaker.
As the momentum took Adam to the side, he spun around and brought the spear to my chest. I quickly blocked the spear with water and as the spear hit the water, I froze both the water and spear.
Since I'm still learning ice magic, the spell didn't last long enough for me to get to Adam, but it did move his spear of course. That gave me time to dodge, otherwise I would have lost. It was only time until I lost, but I wanted to try the ice spell in a real fight.
Adam appeared behind me before I could even gather myself after the last dodge. He swung at my ribcage and out speeded my water helix spell. I was standing sideways as I was trying to turn, as Adam's spear was being held at my side.
"Not bad, but not as good as Arthur." I released my spell.
"Thanks, I guess."
I checked my mana reserves, and I used a lot in that little time. That issue will get better in time, I just need to be smarter for now. My mana rotation was probably the only reason I could hold up that spell.
"Wow! Veer your control over that water spell was pretty impressive." Angela spoke up first.
My mom and dad already saw that spell during my times with Arthur, so I understood why they were silent.
"At least you didn't hurt this kid." Helen said jokingly to Adam.
"Hey! If I didn't defend myself against Arthur, he would have hurt me."
"What do you call that spell?" Helen asked as she placed a hand on my shoulder.
"Arthur and I came up with Water Helix."
"Water Helix not bad." Helen nodded. "Veer you should be proud of what you did, you are only four, and you gave Adam a scare I'm sure on that one spell."
My mother picked me up as I was walking. "You did great Veer, don't let them compare you to Arthur." We entered into the mansion.
I rested my head against hers. "Thanks, mom."
Adam then spoke to me. "You said your still learning how to use wind and fire?"
I nodded my head and then said. "And Sound."
"You're a Sound Deviant as well?" Angela chirped, I turned to her, and Durden was behind her. He gave me a thumbs up, with a huge smile.
"Yeah."
"Oh wow."
"All in time Veer." Helen spoke from beside my mother. "You are going to be a fierce fighter, that everyone will want to stay away from, even Adam."
"Tch." Adam seemed to disagree.
"You think?" I asked, curious to see what she actually thought.
"I know." Helen smiled at me. "They will fear the great Veer Leywin." Everyone started to laugh except for Adam.
"Good job little brother." Ellie said as my mother placed me down in the living room. "What do you say little brother." She repeated little brother, so I knew to call her big sister. I sighed and looked up at my smiling mother.
"Fine, thanks, big sister." Ellie started to giggle as she started toward Lilia. The two of them have been trying Arthur's technique in awakening their core for the past three months. I knew both of them were going to be mages at some point, just not when exactly.
Once I can control people's blood without having to put mana in them, I'll be able to compete at a greater scale. I know that I can control their bodies to an extent. I just cannot lose control again and blow up someone.
"How do you think Arthur is doing with Jasmine?" My mother asked Helen. She was always worried about Arthur.
"Knowing him, he's probably having a blast." Helen was defiantly right, and everyone laughed. "I wouldn't worry about him Alice."
"I'll always worry about him, and the more Veer grows up, the more I'm worried he'll be exactly like his brother or worse." They turned to me, and I shrugged. "You are way more mischievous, remember the fire incident."
"Stop bringing that up!"
