Virion Leywin
Then out of nowhere, the ceiling above us collapsed, and shook the entire cavern. Uto and I backed away from each other as the dust from the crash reached us. I could still sense his mana, but my attack did some damage to him, then again, so did his. The spike in my shoulder was pretty far in there, I couldn't tell if it broke through to the other side or not.
As the dust settled, the sight before us was something unexpected, but welcoming, at least I thought it was.
"So, you came." I smiled as I was barely able to hold myself up, what an exciting day.
Standing next to me, was what I suspected to be Avier in his wyvern form. His back and wings spread out were all green, there was a long red part on his head, and his chest was a pale brown color. Spikes aligned on his forehead, and the pressure he emitted was chilling, but nothing close to Uto's. He stood slightly taller than Uto and seemed calm to be in this situation.
The only thing is, stated by him in the novel, I remember him saying that Sylvie was way stronger than him, and Sylvie got tossed around by Uto. However, at this current moment, I've managed to damage Uto to a point where he was hunching over more than normal.
"A wyvern?" Uto said questioningly.
The ground shook slightly as Avier moved over to be standing next to me, he bent his head down, and stared into my eyes. Doing the only thing I thought was appropriate, I touched his head, and felt something enter my mind.
"Virion Leywin, can you hear me?" Avier backed away and turned toward Uto.
"Yes." I answered with a thought.
"This is a temporary bond, Cynthia has told me a lot about you, and I've been watching you." Avier spoke in my mind with a strict but kind tone. "I've never met a Blood Deviant before in all my time alive, and I find you to be interesting. You are an anomaly just like your brother, and I..." He stopped talking and went silent for some reason.
Uto was standing there silently, observing the scene now before him. I was slowly healing my wounds as I removed the spike that was in my shoulder. I noticed the hole Avier left in the ceiling casted shadows down on the battlefield.
"Avier? Is something wrong?" I was assuming since this was a temporary bond, I couldn't feel what he was feeling, but I did feel his thoughts at a time. I didn't anymore, it was like he was blocking me.
"Y-you are a---." His voice sounded shocked about something. "I see."
"What's wrong?" I asked him. "Can we take him?"
"Nothing child." Avier spoke calmly. "I'll get us out of here, and you can call this a draw."
"No, if I get a little more mana inside of him, it's over." I told the wyvern, as I pushed myself up, so I was standing up tall. "He needs to die."
"You have lost a lot of blood; I can sense it." The wyvern told me. "I can't bring you to the Floating Castle where Cynthia is, but I can get you to where Lance Bairon is."
"Are you two communicating?" Uto spoke up, and we turned to him. "It's not nice to ignore your opponent." Spikes shot up at us, and Avier flew in the sky as I dodged them on the ground, just barely able to keep up.
I felt the water mana I infused into his blood, actually, I had enough in there. I don't have to make him explode, I could just cause damage to his heart, just like in my last life, if your heart isn't functioning, you can't.
"Hahaha." I laughed as I dodged each spike, and Avier flew around them.
"I'm going to go on the attack, stay back." Avier told me, and I watched as a pure energy ball made from wind mana formed inside of his mouth. Avier aimed it at Uto who was standing still, and shot it at him, then followed behind the beam, heading directly toward the Retainer.
Avier flew in the air, flying around each spike, he was fast, but not as fast as Uto. The beam of energy shot past Uto, hitting the wall behind him.
Avier swung his claws, a spike shot up, the wyvern breathed some sort of fire like air, but it didn't melt the spike.
I watched as the spike punctured the wyvern, not going in too far. Avier flew up higher, so the spike stayed on the ground, formed another beam of energy and released the power onto Uto, like it was nothing, Uto appeared in front of the wyvern, and back handed it, sending it to the side.
The wyvern gathered himself and swung his claw as fast as he could into the Retainer's chest. The claw blazed with fire, but Uto back stepped, brought up a spike, Avier saw this coming. He flew over the spike into the Retainer, plunging him into the ground, and drove a claw into his one side.
Uto pushed the wyvern off of him with ease and got back to his feet. Avier continued attacking, trying to do anything he can.
As I dodged spikes growing rapidly at me, I started moving the water mana I had in his blood toward his heart and started to wrap it around it. Avier wings were grabbed by Uto, and he was tossed like a rag doll into the wall.
Uto turned to me, blood running down his armor. "What? You thought a wyvern would be able to rescue you? What a foolish Lesser, honestly, you all bore me."
Avier shot out of the wall, heading straight for Uto again, I quickly reached into his core, while controlling the water in his blood, and disrupted his mana flow for a split second, stopping any magic usage. Avier flew into him, biting into his shoulder blade, and attempting to dig his sharp claws into his gut, but Uto's magic returned, and he brought spikes out of the ground at Avier, causing him to fly up into the sky, releasing Uto.
"This pesky little thing." Uto spat, bringing spikes into the air, making Avier dodged them one after another.
"Come on." Avier thought to me. "You can join in."
"Give me a second." I started to bind the water mana into the blood around his heart, however, I fell to my knees, and I felt blood run down my mouth.
"Never mind, you've used to much mana to keep going, we need to get you out of here." Avier thought to me, but I was this close, all I had to do was activate the spell, and Uto would die.
Avier formed another ball of energy, and it shot across the cavern, colliding with Uto's black spikes. "Look at this, looks like you are all out of mana, brat." Uto started to walk toward me, and the blood around me shot at him.
I watched as he dodged the attack, the blood didn't return back to me. I didn't have enough mana to bring it back. My phase two was about to disappear, this couldn't be how this battle ended, no.
Avier shot himself at Uto, aiming his sharp claws at him, spikes grew at the wyvern, causing him to dodge them before making it to him. I watched as the two collided, and Avier swung his claws through spikes, shattering some of them, but not all.
Unexpectedly, energy shot out of the wyvern's mouth, right in the face of Uto, moving the Retainer backwards. "Hahaha." I laughed as I thought about losing or drawing. Avier and Uto turned to me. "Hahahaa." I stood up, as the cavern went silent again. "I refuse this outcome." I started to activate my ring on my finger.
"What are you saying, brat?" Uto asked me.
"Virion, what are you planning?" Avier spoke in my mind. "We need to get you out of here."
"No."
I started to pull all the mana in the room to me, all at once, I started moving the blood in my body at a faster rate, then absorbed the mana, and just kept on going, and going, and going, feeling my core fill back up. I pushed past the urge to stop, and smiled at the Retainer as my chest began to burn.
"Stop!" Avier shouted in my brain, and I did.
I felt all my wounds start to heal faster; the blood I had lost came rushing back to me and circled my body. "Uto." I spoke with a calm voice. "I hope you have mana to continue."
He smiled at me. "What have you done?" His red eyes glared at me as Avier backed up to me. "You should be out of mana, I felt it."
"Not anymore." The burning sensation was there, but only slightly, I didn't fill my core completely, only halfway. I couldn't hurt myself too badly, because I still needed to fight. "Uto, this fight isn't going to end with your victory anymore."
"You keep talking like you are going to win, it's frustrating that I like it!" Uto exclaimed and started to grow spikes at Avier and me. I shot myself into the air using wind magic, and Avier flew under me.
"I don't know how, just don't die." Avier said internally as we dodged spike after spike, flying closer to the smiling Uto. I stood on top of Avier, using wind magic of my own to stay balanced. I felt the energy forming again in his mouth, so I conjured a ball of ice, fire, wind, and added blood particles in my hand, and we shot the two spells together, combining them in the air.
I watched the weird looking beam color dance across the cavern, and slam through anything Uto tried to block it with. The spell raced past the Retainer as he barely dodged the attack. The spell hit the wall, causing a loud explosion, and leaving a giant dent in it.
"Ha." Uto laughed. "That would have hurt."
I gribbed his heart using the water mana in him, and I watched his eyes widen in either surprise or pain, probably both. Avier flew through the sky, as Uto reached up and held his hand against his heart.
Avier collided with the Retainer, digging his claws into both his sides, and sending him into the wall. I jumped off of Avier, formed my blood sword, and swung at the Retainer in pain, as I held his heart in the palm of my hand.
My blade cut right through the Retainers horns, knocking them off of him, and I caught them before he could do anything. Avier was still holding on to him, and I saw the blood rushing down the Retainer's sides.
I activated my mana ring and stored the two horns inside. Uto pushed past the pain I was causing him and grew spikes out of the wall at Avier, puncturing a wing, and making him back away.
"Hahhaa." I pointed my sword at Uto, still breathing heavily, and in pain. "I thought I was just a Lesser." I said sarcastically. "If that's true, what does that make you?" I tilted my head at him. "A piece of shit?"
Uto spit out blood, his black armor was half red now, and he could barely stand up. "What did you do to me, brat?" He fell out of the wall and started to limp toward me. "I'm going to end you, I don't care what Agrona wants anymore, you are fucking dead!" Spikes grew at me, but not as fast as they did before.
I emitted an icy mist out of me, freezing the spikes before they could get close to me. "Wow, those horns must have had a shit tone of mana in them." I looked at his hornless head. "Too bad you don't have them anymore."
Avier stood next to me, and I placed a hand on his giant wings. "Let me heal that." My blood magic began to slowly heal his wound, making it good as new.
"Thanks." Avier and I faced the Retainer.
Damn! Uto must have placed a mana barrier around his heart, I didn't have my grip on it anymore. His control with mana was something else, truly, but it was too late. I mean look at him, he's having trouble understanding what's even going on. He's losing a battle, to a ten year old. It was a battle, he was clearly winning the whole time, then everything changed in a second.
"We'll end this together." Avier shot me a glance, and I nodded my head.
"I don't need my horns to kill you!" Retainer Uto pointed at me, and another lance grew in his hand. "I'm going to break every bone in your body, and watch you scream while you're bleeding out corpse pleads for you brother to save you!"
"Really?" I shrugged, getting ready to end this. "You are still this confident, hmm, maybe I'll do to you, what you did to Lance Alea, but, instead of letting you die, I'll heal you completely, and do it again, and again, and again."
