"We'll end this together." Avier shot me a glance, and I nodded my head.
"I don't need my horns to kill you!" Retainer Uto pointed at me, and another lance grew in his hand. "I'm going to break every bone in your body, and watch you scream while you're bleeding out corpse pleads for you brother to save you!"
"Really?" I shrugged, getting ready to end this. "You are still this confident, hmm, maybe I'll do to you, what you did to Lance Alea, but, instead of letting you die, I'll heal you completely, and do it again, and again, and again."
"You think you can do that?" Uto raised his arms, even without his horns, he was confident. "I want you to try, Devil."
"Let's go." I told Avier, and we shot ourselves at the Retainer, I came from the left, and the wyvern from the right. I swung my blade at his head, he ducked under my attack, Avier came in and his claws were swung at his chest, where he was no longer bleeding from, but his armor was destroyed.
I came back at him, dodging his lance weapon, pointing my sword at his ribs, I attempted to drive it in to him, but multiple spikes grew from the ground causing me to first dodge them before getting to him.
Avier built of energy, and was about to blast it at him, so instead of going after him, I reached into his core and disrupted his mana flow, just before the beam was shot, and I watched as the wind blast or whatever Avier called it, hit him dead on, knocking him into the wall again.
I launched myself at him as he stepped out of the wall angrily, and swung my sword, his lance went to block it, but I liquified the blade, then reformed it just before it slammed into his cheeks, leaving a huge gash.
I dug into his core again, removed his mana, and swung my sword at his face. Uto reached his hand up to block my attack, but my blade was too fast as I sliced through his right eye. "Ahh!" Uto screamed in pain. "You bitch!"
I ignored him and swung my sword again, a spike shot up at me, making me back up. Avier built up another wave of energy, and I did the same, forming a ball of ice, fire, wind, water, and blood, then we released our spells at the same time, combining our strength, and watched as it collided with the Retainer, half blind.
Uto was sent to the floor, on his knees, bleeding out, and I could sense the bruises on him worsen with each attack. "Is the holy being Uto, truly on his knees before us." I started to walk up to him as his blood dripped on the floor. "Who's the Lesser now?"
Blood dripped out of his mouth, and he looked up at me with his hornless head and one eye. "It's not over." Uto spat his blood at me as he talked.
"Didn't I say that earlier, and you were like, don't act like you can win or something?" I asked him as I stood five yards from him, with Avier standing behind me, looking down on him. "Cause, Uto, I think this fight is over." I was getting lightheaded, but when I pulled in all that mana before, I started to feel so much better.
A spike shot at me but froze in the air and fell to the ground. "Damn you!"
"Hit him with that wind spell." I told Avier.
"He's down?" I looked up at Avier.
"Yes, but he's still too strong for me to remove his magic." I turned back to Uto and felt as energy started to build up inside of Avier's mouth. Uto looked up at us in horror, and I sent him a smile as Avier sent the attack at him, sending Uto flying twenty yards into the distance.
Uto was lying on the ground, unmoving, as we started to walk over to him. Avier's claw marks could be seen on his sides, his armor was broken, and I could tell he was in a great deal of pain. I will be in pain too, but I was using blood magic to heal everything, so I was going to feel it later, not now.
"You piece of shit..." Uto rolled over, and pushed himself up to his feet, a spike went through the blood I had guarding the exits, shattering it, the blood everywhere was no longer under my control, because I made it rock hard, and then released my control over it.
I reached into his core and disrupted his mana, holding it, he was in terrible shape, which allowed me to remove his mana completely for the time being. "Is Uto trying to run away?"
He faced us, and I could see it, he was scared, I made him feel fear. "What the, how, give me my magic back now!" He started to walk quickly over to me.
"Huh?" I tilted my head at him with a smile. "What happened to the tough guy? I really liked that person."
"Come here, brat." His core was under my control, he was powerless.
He went to grab me, but I sidestepped the attempt, then spun and sliced the back of his leg, knocking down to one knee. He turned his head around and tried to grab me again, but I swatted his arm away, and brought my blade to his other eye, and watched as his vision went dark.
"You're feeling what Alea felt, not completely I guess." I walked around him, so I was standing in front of his powerless body.
"I'm going to kill you." He stood back up and started flailing his arms at me.
"Nope." I swung my blade up, and his right arm fell to the ground. "Now sit." His knees buckled out from under him, and he sat there, on his knees, silent. "Uto, Uto, Uto, don't you think this was fun, I had a blast."
"You little ---" He spat out.
"Don't talk like that anymore." I deformed my sword, and formed a fist surrounded with blue fire.
Uto's arm was bleeding out, so I healed his wound, but he was still in a hell of a lot of pain. "You are all going to die, it's only a matter of time."
"Honestly, you just keep on talking." I slammed my fist into his face, sending him to the ground. "Come on, keep the same energy." I conjured an ice sword, and got ready to jam it into his leg, but Avier spoke to me.
"Stop, Virion, the battle is over, get him to the castle, where they can interrogate him." I turned to the wyvern as Uto tried to move, but I held him still.
"He deserves everything I am going to do." I told him. "Then I'll bring him to the castle."
"You can't do things like this, don't become like the enemy." Avier really didn't want me to torture this man, but like come on. I drove the blade into Uto leg and watched as blood sprayed out of him.
I held his mouth closed, and his body still, making him just take in the pain.
"Fine." I placed all the blood I had in the tubes around my waist. "Thank you, I don't know if I would have survived without you."
"You would have figured something out." Avier's wings began to spread. "Remember, don't become your enemy, a little crazy isn't bad, but there comes a limit to the acceptable craziness."
"Alright." I lifted my hand and patted the wyvern's nose. "Where will you be going?"
"It's a secret but know that this will be the only time I intervene in the war." I wished he would stay with me, I could use a bond, that's when I looked at my hand and smiled. "I didn't want to see you abducted so early, I'll be watching, don't lose yourself."
I felt our connection disappear, and he lifted himself off the ground, into the air, then gave me one last look, before flying away the same way he came in.
Maybe Avier is right, I might be going a little too crazy, I don't want to be like Uto. I mean, like he said, a little crazy is alright, but too much can hurt you. Was I thinking about Elder Rinia's words too much, or was I actually turning into a monster?
I'll deal with these thoughts later, I know what I am doing now is wrong, but Uto deserved every ounce of it.
Honestly, there are giant claw marks on Uto, from Avier's claws, I don't know if I would have survived if it wasn't for him. I couldn't inflict that much damage in the state I was in.
"Well, Uto, I can't really tell if you are conscious or not, you know, because of your eyes being gone." I released his jaw and allowed him to speak. "You there?"
"You bitch." He spit out blood, and I removed the ice sword from his leg. "Dicathen will fall, I hope you know that."
"If I wasn't here, you would be right." I threw the bloody ice sword to the ground, and I got an idea. "Hold on, before I close this wound, I need something."
"What?" Uto exclaimed as I pulled out a tube in my mana ring, then started to manipulate the blood coming out of the wound I inflicted, it floated up to me, and then entered the tube. I filled it up to the top in Half Vritra blood, I had an idea, but I knew it was too risky to just do. "What are you doing?"
"Oh, haha, I forgot, you can't see me." I closed the tube and slid it back into my ring. "Alright." I know I told Avier I would stop, but I needed to do one more thing. "I'm going to need you to sleep for a while, but since you took two lives." I paused for a second, and then went on. "I'm taking two limbs."
"Do it! I'll still kill you." Uto eyes were red.
I nodded my head at him, knowing he couldn't see me. "Okay." I conjured another sword, and swung down at one of his legs, cutting it off at the knee.
"Shit!" He felt that, no mana to help him with the pain must suck. I closed the wound, and then threw the sword to the side, joining the other one. "You little ---" He was cut off as another fire fulled fist slammed into his face, knocking his head to the ground, I grabbed his chest plate and I sent another punch, and another, and another.
"What was that?" I said, standing over his unconscious body. "I didn't quite hear you." I released my grip and walked away from his body. I needed to do something before leaving, Uto wasn't going anywhere anymore. I was running low on mana but needed to do a few things.
I formed a ball of ice and fire in my palm, and shot it at the blood covering the exit, causing it to shatter. I stepped into the tunnel, and found Darvus's body, leaning against the wall, the spike not in him. He must have pulled it out and closed the wound.
I felt his breath, it wasn't stable, but he was still somehow alive. I started using blood magic on him, healing his wounds, and relieving him of pain. "Darvus?" I bent over and slapped his face.
He didn't move at all, but his breath settled slightly. I turned my back on him and walked back into the cavern. I stood over where I sensed Samantha's body, and started to break the blood, using an ice sword I conjured.
It took me about five minutes to do that, and when I freed her lifeless corps, I felt a tear run down my cheek. "I'm sorry, Samantha." I didn't know her for long, but fighting in the dungeon together made us close.
Also, if she hadn't met me, she might not have died here. I wiped the tear away, at least I could still feel sadness. I picked her body up and walked over to Darvus. I laid Samantha across from him, and then walked back into the cavern.
I sniffled, still feeling off, seeing Samantha's dead corpse. I stood over Uto's body. "You're fat aren't you, no way I'm picking you up." I conjured wind under his body and began to move his body to the tunnel. I threw it onto the ground, walked up to his face again. "Just to make sure." I formed more fire around my fist, and sent another punch, and then another.
He didn't move, he was in another world at the moment.
I looked down at the three bodies around me. "How the hell am I going to get you all back?" I walked over to Darvus, and bent down. "Darvus, I'm going to need you to power through buddy." I slapped his face a couple times. "Come on, wake up."
"Dad?" Darvus's eyes opened, and then went wide.
"Nope, just your lovely Devil from Dicathen." I stood back up. "Darvus, before you look --"
"Samantha is dead." He rubbed his eyes as he tried to get back to reality. "I saw."
"No, not that." I turned to Uto. "There's a Retainer laying on the ground next to you."
"What?!" That woke him up, as he shot to his feet, free of pain. "You killed a Retainer by yourself? Also, why am I not in pain anymore?"
"First, the Retainer isn't dead, and second, I healed you, and got rid of the pain for now." I turned back to him, another tear rolled down my cheek, thinking about how I let Samantha die. "I need you to carry Samantha back, can you do that?"
"Y-yeah." Noticing my tear, Darvus didn't argue. "Wait! This guy is alive?"
"Oh, totally, I just beat the living shit out of him until he passed out." I gave Uto a look of satisfaction. "I cut his eyes out as well, don't judge me for that, I had my reasons."
"I-I won't." He walked over to Samantha's body, and slowly bent over and picked it up. "We have a far way to go, will we make it?"
"Yeah, I'm not going to pass out now, not after everything I did." I was determined to get these bodies back. "Let's go." I conjured wind under Uto's body, and started to walk down the tunnel, back to the base, where I felt more of our soldiers going. They must have won their fight while I was fighting Uto, Caria was with them, so that's good.
I can feel that Bairon took down Olfred, that's good, and he's alive.
