(Five Months Later)
I was now around four and a half years old. Arthur has been back once since he started adventuring, my training has consisted of my father sparring with me or guards that work for the Helstea's under my dad's orders. When I wasn't with them, I was working with my mana manipulation.
My core was now dark orange, I finally advanced stages two months ago. I could feel the difference, but I still had a long way to go.
I was standing in the back yard with a guard named Liam, he was a fire elemental augmenter. Out of the guards who sparred with me, he was the weakest. His sword technique was awful, and his control over mana was limited.
Liam's sword lit up with fire, and he got into a fighting stance. I got into my fighting stance and surrounded my sword with fire as well.
I launched myself at him with mana reinforcing my legs to make me faster. I swung my wooden sword at his right hip, Liam brought his sword down, and I feinted to the other side.
He quickly spun and blocked my attack and I jumped into the air, propelling myself up with wind mana. I swung my sword again from the air at his head. Liam's eyes went wide, but he managed to roll out of the way.
I started to build up wind mana under my feet, so I would be faster. I raised my sword from the ground after swinging and missing Liam and shot myself out of a cannon using the mana reinforcing my legs and the wind under my feet that angled me at Liam.
As I was flying through the air, I swung my blade at his ribcage. Liam's fire blade was too slow but noticing that I couldn't slow down. I ducked my head and reinforced it with mana as I collided with Liam sending him flying.
I was on the ground rubbing the back of my head, even though I reinforced it with mana. It still hurt a little. Liam's sword was in front of me, and he was on his back a couple yards away from me. I would have killed him if I were using a real sword and finished the attack.
I got to my feet slowly, using the wooden sword to help. I then proceeded to walk over to Liam's motionless body. Looking down at him I smiled as he stared up at me in shock.
"What was your plan there?" Liam scolded me.
"What do you mean? I won!"
"Yeah, that attack was way to reckless." He slowly propped himself up. He was sitting, but I was now only slightly taller than him.
"I still won." I just needed more control, that was all.
"Just be a little more cautious next time, you knocked the wind out of me." He got to his feet. "Are you good for the day? You used your water, ice, wind, and fire elements today."
"I guess we can call it quits."
"Are you having trouble with sound magic?" Liam rubbed my head as we prepared ourselves to walk inside.
"No, I just don't want to use it in a sparring match."
"Oh, you are worried about me?"
"No, but I don't want to burst your eardrums." I smiled up at him, if I did that mother would scold me. I would get the what were you thinking speech from her again.
"Well, thanks I guess?" We entered the mansion. "You can make it to your mother, correct?"
"Yes, I'll see you tomorrow."
We went down different hallways. I made my way to the living room, where I thought everyone was. As I entered, I noticed that Uncle Vincent and my father were there only.
"Here he is." Uncle Vincent called out.
"I thought you two were at the Auction House."
"We came back to get you." My father stood up. "Your mother and I have decided it's time for you to get a real sword." My eyes lit up, then I thought back to moments ago when I could have killed Liam with a normal sword.
"Awesome!" I couldn't believe mom approved.
"There are countless swords at the Auction House for you. Since Arthur picked one out, I think letting you pick one is only fair." Arthur had Dawn's Ballad; I needed a sword that could handle me reinforcing it with mana. It also had to be light weight, so I could swing it with speed.
"Thanks, Uncle Vincent."
"It's my pleasure Veer."
---
I was standing in a supply closet that was gigantic, looking through everything. There were countless different swords, but none so far were the right fit for me.
"How about this one?" My father handed me a small blade and I took it from him. I backed away and started to swing it. I would say that it was perfect, except that the blade was too skinny.
"No, the blade isn't big enough." I handed it back to him.
I continued to look through all the boxes until I found the sword that best fit me. It took twenty minutes, but I finally found it.
It was a normal sword except for its colors, the handle and cross guard were silver, the blade was black. It looked like the night sky, and it was light, perfect for me now and in the future.
"I like this one, Dad." I held up the sword to him.
"Oh, that is a cool sword." He took it from me. "Light and durable, perfect for you."
He handed it back to me. "Let's go find Vincent." We stepped out of the closet and into a larger room. Uncle Vincent was talking to someone as we approached. He turned around and looked at the sword. "He picked this one Vincent."
"Oh, that one looks expens...That's good, it's all yours." Uncle Vincent smiled at us.
"Thanks, Uncle Vincent." I told him with a smile of my own. "I can't wait to use it."
"Remember it's not a toy, it's a weapon." I nodded my head, it's not like I haven't heard that before.
"I know."
I held the sheath it came with and swung it over my back, so it was diagonal, I didn't have a mana ring to store it in. I then slide the night black sword into its sheath. It felt weird on my back, but I knew I would get used to it.
"How do I look?" I asked my father with a smile.
"Like a warrior!" He said proudly
Arthur Lewin
I was waiting for Sylvie to get back from her personal training she was doing in the forest of the Beast Glades with Jasmine cooking our dinner.
"Sylv? Where are you?" I could feel that she was moving fast.
"I'll be there soon." She responded to me.
"I say, another five minutes until it's done cooking." Jasmine sat down on the log next to me, and we waited. The food smelt heavenly, we just got out of the third dungeon we raided, and I was hungry.
I could feel the excitement coursing through my bond right now. "Sylv, what's got you so excited?"
"You'll see."
My bond came flying in and landed in front of Jasmine and me. What caught my attention though was the thing in her mouth. It was a beast core, a blue beast core.
"Sylv? Why do you have a beast core?" Jasmine and I looked up at her, and she placed it on the ground right below my feet. Then turned into her new fox form. "Don't you get more strength from eating them?"
"Check it." She thought mentally to me.
I picked up the beast core, and immediately was shocked. "There's so much mana in here." I said aloud. Jasmine was just eyeing us up like normal when Sylvie and I talked.
"That's not it." Sylv commented.
She was right!
"No way." I looked down at my bond smirking at me with her fox face.
"What is it?" Jasmine asked.
"The core has a Beast Will."
"What?" The normal calm composure that Jasmine usually had disappeared.
"What type of mana beast was it?" I asked my bond.
"An S Class Sea Serpent, I found it while I was hunting in the water." My bond paused and looked up at me. "It's perfect for your little brother."
"No, it's dangerous for him."
"You want to be able to protect your family, giving him this would do just that."
"I guess you're right, but I can't help him with his Assimilation process or the mastering of the will."
"What type of beast core is it?" Jasmine asked, I realized it just looked like Sylvie and I were staring at each other. "Sorry, I know you two were talking mentally, but I was curious."
"A Sea Serpent." Her eyes went large.
"Papa knows someone who can teach Veer, the same person who taught him."
"You are a genius Sylv." I smiled at her as I patted her head.
"What are you planning to do with it?" Jasmine took it from my hands and examined it.
"I'm going to give it to my little brother."
"I'm going to have to send word right away, and just hope that mom and dad are okay with it."
"I'm sure they won't be okay with it." Sylv was right, they won't be. "Veer will be though."
"Obviously, he has been working hard, probably because of me." My younger brother was powerful, it was most likely due to me being born into the family. There has never been a tri elemental or quadra elemental in this world, and now there are two.
"I'm sure everything will work out."
"Thanks, Sylv, for this." Jasmine handed the core back to me.
