(Next Day)
"Alright, today, I want to see you in your phase one, and your phase two, so we can study your core and Will." Gideon told me as I stood in the center of the room.
"Sounds good." I answered.
"This is how you control blood, right?" Kathyln asked me while she was sitting in the chair.
"Well, yes, it gives me the strength to manipulate blood, I believe when I reach white core, I won't have to go into phase one though." That was my hope at least.
"You think you're going to reach white core?" Kathyln asked me.
"Yeah." I spoke honestly. "Actually, I'll reach white core soon."
"How did you reach silver core so fast?" Kathyln kept on asking me questions.
"I don't know." My knowledge of this world was the reason.
"Uhh, can you two shut up." Gideon interrupted. "Activate your phase one."
"Got it." I activated "Blood Oath" and turned to him. "It's activated."
"I can tell." He said, looking at his device, which had cords attached to me. "Wait a second to activate phase two."
"Okay." I said and turned back to Kathyln. "Are you still training with Varay?"
"When I can, but since I joined the raiding parties, I really don't have time anymore." I understood, when you're in the dungeons, you don't have time to train.
"I get it, when I was in the dungeons, all I did was spar a little with Callias, but most of the times we were too tired." I turned to Gideon who was still examining the device.
"Are you planning on going back?" I faced Kathyln again.
"Umm, it all depends really, why?" I asked, she knew I was having mental issues. If Gideon finds a cure soon, I'll be back in the dungeons as soon as I could.
"If you went back, would you be interested in joining my team, with Callias?" I was shocked by this request.
"Don't you have team members?" I was happy to be asked, but she had a team already, it would be rude to take someone's place out of the blue.
"They are people my parents picked to protect me, I'm sure they rather have you in there with me." That was probably true, I don't have a team anymore.
Unless, since I am a Lance, not officially, but I will be, could I go in alone?
"I would like that." I would rather go in alone, then I could go all out. "Let's hope Gideon here, finds a way to solve this little issue."
"Little issue?" Gideon said. "This isn't some little issue, you have some sort of Alacryan Virus, one they placed in a Beast Will, and it's affecting your brain."
"My bad, did I push the wrong button." I smiled at him. "Do you want me to activate phase two yet?"
"No, I'll tell you when." Gideon snapped at me.
"Kathyln, I do have a question, I know your brother has a bond, but have you ever wanted to have one as well?" I asked her, I always thought about this, Kathyln was royalty, I'm sure she could get a bond if she wanted.
"I've never really wanted one, I don't need one." She told me, and I nodded my head. "I guess it wouldn't be awful though."Kathyln paused, and she gave me a meaningful look. "Would you like a bond?"
"Umm, yeah, I would like one." I answered her.
"Arthur has a bond, is that why you want one?" Kathyln asked, I wish I had a dragon bond, but that was near impossible, no, it was impossible. "Sylvie was her name, right?"
"Yes." I scratched my eye, and then thought back to the last time Kathyln saw Sylvie, it was the attack on Xyrus. "You saw her in her dragon form, didn't you?"
"I did, it actually scared me." That was the first time I saw her dragon form in person as well, of course it was for a mere moment, then I passed out. "I didn't know she was that strong."
"Same, I only wish I saw it for longer." I told her, thinking about that day.
"Oh, I forgot, you fought Lucas beforehand, you made sure he didn't hurt anyone else." I also remembered saving Kathyln that day from mana beast, and countless other students. "That was the first time I saw you fight; you were on a whole different level than everyone else."
"I still lost to Lucas." I wasn't that strong yet at that point.
"You were fighting before that fight, so you were tired." As Kathyln spoke, Gideon stood up and grabbed another device and started to mess around with it. "That was a rough day, it's hard to think about."
"Yeah." I agreed with her, images of the people I killed that day played in my mind, and I felt a smile crossing my face. I held back the thoughts and pushed them to the side. "It was the start of the war, really."
"It was." Kathyln said, and Gideon turned to me.
"Go on." Gideon ordered. "Activate your second phase."
"You can ask politely." I stood there, and activated "Blood Monarch" and scales started to grow on me, runes appeared under my eyes, and my hair changed to red. I could sense everyone's blood and power in the room.
"You look insane." Gideon said and turned away from me.
"So, this is your phase two." Kathyln said, as Callias entered the room.
"I wondered where that power was coming from." Callias walked up to me. "It still amazes me to see."
"How long can you hold it?" Gideon asked me.
"For a long time if I don't use any spells." I didn't know the exact time, but it had to be for a while.
"I want you to use all your elements." Gideon motioned for me to move to an area where no one was. "Start with your basic three."
"Okay." I started to conjure fire, it circled my hand, and then added wind to it, finally I had water form. The three elements danced around my hand as Gideon took notes.
"Add your ice element." Gideon said, and little shards of ice began to form, floating around my hand with the other elements.
"Your family has a Quadra and a Tri elemental, it's unbelievable." Kathyln chimed in. "And you are a Blood Deviant."
"What a scary family." Callias was now standing next to Kathyln. "You are a scary individual, Veer, I wonder if your brother is like you, well, if he is, it's more like you are like him."
"Virion is like his brother." Kathyln told Callias. "They both are powerful and smart."
"I can't wait to meet him." Callias smiled at me. "I want to see what he's all about, is he really as strong as Veer?"
"No, not anymore." I knew I was stronger than him now, I defeated Uto, he couldn't even do that with Sylvie. "I'm stronger than him."
"How do you know?" Kathyln asked me.
"I just do." Gideon walked up to me and started to examine my scales and runes under my eyes.
"Do that thing where you manipulate someone's body." Gideon ordered me, and I made Callias fall to his knees. "Now make his arms move."
"What the hell? Why am I always the one being controlled?" Callias spoke from the ground.
I raised his arms and had him slap himself. "That's enough." Gideon went back to his desk. "Keep the elements spinning in your hand, there is still something I need to see."
"Okay." I kept the elements going, it wasn't hard at all. "What about sound magic?"
"Is that something you can make float in your hand?" Gideon spoke with a sarcastic voice.
"No, but I could create an illusion." I began to conjure an illusion.
"That's not necessary." Gideon waved me off. "I'm good with what you are doing now."
"Fine, I was only making sure." He pulled a couple of the cords off of me connected to a device on his desk.
"You can release him." I stopped using blood magic on Callias and he stood up and glared at me. "I need you to absorb mana for five seconds."
"On it." I started absorbing mana into my core, I wasn't using my ring, I didn't want to show that power off. "Good?" I asked after five seconds.
"Yeah, go ahead and stop." I stopped absorbing mana, but held my phase two, not knowing if he needed to see it still. "I'm done with you for today."
"So, can I release my Beast Will?" I made my way to a chair in the room.
"Didn't I just say I was done with you?" I shrugged at the scientist and released my Beast Will. The normal fatigue I got from using it was not there, probably because I didn't fight anyone.
"Wanna spar?" Callias stretched his arms. "I just got out of bed, could use some activity."
"That's fine with me, Kathyln, you want to join us?" I wouldn't mind sparring with the two of them at the same time.
"I'll join in." She stood up from her chair.
"Don't destroy the yard, you brats." Gideon was such a grumpy person. "Now, get out of here and let me focus."
We all started to leave, Callias turned to me and whispered. "I know this guy is smart and all, but man he is a dick."
A smile crossed my face. "I know." The three of us made our way to the backyard, I wasn't going to use any blood magic.
I conjured two ice swords in my hands as I got ready to fight them. "No blood magic, Veer." Callias told me as he pulled his sword out and faced me, Kathyln pulled a wand out and ice started to emit from her.
"I won't use blood magic; it won't be fair if I do." I smiled at him. "I'll stick to my other elements for now."
"Oh, and no illusions." He added, and fire lit his sword.
"Wow, you really are limiting me, don't you want to get stronger?" I spun the swords in my hands, and then cracked my neck, loosening myself up a little.
"Ha, shut up, even with the other four elements, you are on a whole other level than us." Callias launched himself at me, swung his sword, and I swatted it to the side.
I spun and kicked him, sending him forward, Kathyln shot a large ice shard at me, and I met it with a wall of blue fire that melted it down to nothing.
I swung my one sword at Callias, he ducked and threw an attack of his own. I blocked, dodged an ice shard, and sent a kick into his ribs, knocking him to the ground.
I spun and launched myself at Kathyln, burning anything she threw at me, her body encased itself with ice, and as I swung my sword at her, she rolled away from my blade.
An ice spear shot up at me, and I broke it in half with my sword. Callias's sword came at me from behind, I ducked and watched as the blade went over my head.
I quickly turned and brought my sword to his ribs, Callias managed to block my attack and throw another attack at me. Kathyln created another spell that sent multiple shards of ice at me from all directions.
As the two attacks got closer, I shot a powerful wind blast out of my body, knocking Callias and the approaching shards away from me.
I launched myself at Callias and swung my sword again. He dodged the attack but wasn't able to dodge my other sword. I held it on his shoulder and then brought up a wall of fire burning an ice shard down.
My fire wall came down, and I appeared before Kathyln swinging my sword through the wall of ice she formed.
This was just too easy.
I guess sparring helps them though, it makes them stronger sparring with someone like me. It's not like I can spar with a Lance every single day, I used to with Lance Aya, but now with everything going on, she can't.
So, I look at sparring with Callias and Kathyln as a way to stay in shape and help them get stronger.
My sword landed on her shoulder, and I held it there like I did to Callias.
"Want to go again?" I asked the two as I backed away from the Princess.
"So funny." Callias said as he got ready to go again, Kathyln nodded her head, telling me she was ready as well.
