CHAPTER 26

SLIDE.

Ann's face remained stoic as she raised her hand.

"This is not democracy." Mira stated.

Niragi scoffed and moved behind the long haired female. "But I think it is, isn't it?"

He took the gun off his shoulder and held it from the bottom, pointing the muzzle at the bottom of her chin. "You can vote however you want, right?"

Slowly, Mira brought her hand up, voting for Aguni as well.

"And how about the former number 2 over there? What do you think?"

No words left his mouth. He only raised his hand to vote. It was enough to please Niragi.

With three executives voting for Aguni, you noticed a few others reluctantly raising their hands as well.

Now it was only you, Chishiya, and Arisu.

With your luck, Niragi cocked his gun and looked at you. His gun was pointed at you before he moved it to aim at your leg.

The militant pushed the gun down onto the cut he inflicted. "And what about you, Y/n?"

'Fucking hell.'

He added more pressure to the gun when you didn't answer.

"I'll shoot through your leg if you don't give me an answer." He threatened, face mere inches away from yours.

Before you were able to do anything, Niragi noticed Chishiya raise his hand. It diverted his attention away from you, but he still held the gun on your bandaged wound.

"Well someone had a change of heart." Niragi chuckled before pushing your leg with the gun. "Looks like we have a unanimous decision. So we've got a new leader, right?"

You stumbled a few steps back before regaining your balance. Chishiya noticed and his usual expression softened, showing a little of how much anger and guilt that he truly felt.

"Hatter would not approve of this." Ann spoke, her hand still raised. "If he were alive, he would have not allowed this."

Niragi chuckled and swung his gun around like how you would your racquet. "But he's not alive, is he?"

He grabbed the barrel of his gun and swung the stock at Hatter's head to prove his point. "The dead really have no say as to what's going on. Watch."

Bang. Bang. Bang. Bang.

He ended off with spitting on the body. "See?"

"That's enough." Aguni stopped him. "From this day onwards, I will be the Beach's new king."

"Yeah, let's hear for the King, huh?" He clapped his hands. "Okay, boss. Time for the succession ceremony, right? Maybe you should open up the black envelope."

"The black envelope. All the playing cards collected by members of the Beach are kept in the safe in Hatter's royal suite. The code for opening the safe is sealed inside the black envelope. The envelope is kept in a secret location, and the only time it's opened is when there's a new number 1. The number 1 opens the envelope in front of the executives, but only he sees the code to the safe. Then, he places the paper with the code written on it into a new envelope and seals it again."

Chishiya walked beside you, catching you up on the information that you've missed out on. He also mentioned a few words relating to his plan to get you and him out of this world, but you weren't quite given enough to be able to be sure what he was saying. You did know though, that he intended on getting his hands on the cards that were in the safe.

You and your friend walked into the dim room and each sat in one of the chairs. Everyone was waiting for Aguni to open the envelope.

He tore open the black paper envelope and opened up the folded paper. You were able to notice the immediate look of confusion on his face before his serious expression replaced it. Chishiya seemed to notice it too, but of course, it was obvious that he would pick up on it.

Aguni folded the paper back up and placed it into a new black envelope. He closed it and dripped melted red wax as the seal. Before it was able to dry, he stamped it with the ring that Hatter wore previously. The word 'boss' was written on it.

The new number 1 passed around the envelope and a silver marker for everyone to use to sign. Surprisingly, they considered you to be a new executive, making you sign the sealed envelope as well.

"I'll let you guys in on the plan." Chishiya leaned forward in the chair and began explaining. "First, Arisu will infiltrate the royal suite. Then he'll search for the safe, and steal all the playing cards inside."

Arisu gave the doctor a wary look. "And how do I get the code?"

"Don't worry about that. I'll let you know when you're in front of the safe." Chishiya handed the black haired male a walkie-talkie.

"I sure hope you're right." Arisu nodded, trusting the blonde. "I'm on it."

You watched as Arisu left the room. Just by the looks of it, you knew that Chishiya was using Arisu to somehow locate the actual safe location. Even though you knew, you didn't speak up about it. It was selfish of you, but it was something that you couldn't really help.

Chishiya continued to explain his plan. "Usagi and Kuina will be on the lookout."

"This is too dangerous. They'll kill us if they see us." The climber pointed out.

There was a moment of silence before her friend, Arisu, tried to comfort her. "I don't think we have any other choice. Now that Hatter's dead, the unity in the Beach is wavering. I think this plan could work for us."

You noticed that Chishiya seemed amused by the two as they made their way out of the door. Kuina followed behind them shortly.

"What'll I need to do?" You asked your friend who sat beside you.

He turned his head to you and took a but to think. "You should just tag behind everyone and make sure that everything goes smoothly."

You were confused. "What do you mean? You're going to be watching from above, why would I need to tag anyone to make sure that they're going to the right place when you're using Arisu as literal bait?"

"You caught up on that quick." He let out a chuckle.

"I've known you for years." You bluntly replied. "Be serious Chishiya, what do you need me to do?"

"Nothing, you aren't a part of this plan. Do you see the condition that you're in right now?"

"As long as I'm alive right? Plus, it's nothing too bad, the grazes are healing great and I'm feeling no pain from them. The cut only stings when it comes in contact with anything other than water or gets purposely scratched or something."

He sighed. "How about you rat Arisu out with me in case they don't believe me? Niragi probably thinks that you're too scared of him to lie to his face."

"I doubt it, but fine." You got up from the chair. "Let's go before the militants and executives leave the main area."

"I just want to make sure that you're with me so you don't get hurt again."

You stopped walking and turned to the male who was a few steps behind you. "You're fucking crazy sometimes, you know that?"

Okay so I think I should be able to finish the story in under like 50-60 chapters

I sat on the idea of writing a Niragi Fanfiction but I don't think that that idea really appeals to me right now

Might publish another today since I'm in a good mood LMFAO
