SLIDE.
"Chishiya!" You grouched beside him. "Why the hell did you do that!?"
Arisu rushed over after he was able to confirm Niragi was dead.
The doctor groaned, body flat on the ground. You put both your hands over his wound and did your best to apply pressure.
"I couldn't let you die."
"I hate you for that." You couldn't help the tears that began forming around your eyes.
Arisu was now crouched over Chishiya's body, and you could hear the sound of Usagi's worried voice approach as well.
The youngest of the group spoke up. "Hey. Before, what were you gonna say?"
"Oh, yea.. Honest people always seemed pretty stupid to me. I've always loved messing with people who try too hard in life. I hated selflessness. It's probably because I was jealous. They all had something I was missing. It was like they could always see what a pathetic and small-minded person I really was. I was always afraid." Chishiya said with broken breaths. "The closest thing or person I had with it was Y/n."
You tried to wipe your tears. No, you couldn't hate him. Nothing could bring you to. He truly did care.
"I guess.. Hunting rifles aren't as deadly as they seem." Niragi's voice appeared again.
Arisu picked up his rifle again.
"Whatever you do.. Just don't make me out to be the villain. If there were 7 billion of me, you guys would be villains too. You're pretty lucky, you know. You guys are the majority."
The sound of an airship approaching stopped him.
Everyone looked up and saw it. It was the King of Spades. He was making his way over here.
"Run!" Arisu shouted, yet no one moved.
The sound of bullets firing was followed by the sound of female screams.
"We need to hide their bodies under the cars." You told them.
Arisu and Usagi nodded. The three of you moved from car to car. You felt bad for leaving Chishiya there on the ground, but you knew that you'd get back to him eventually.
"The only blimps left are the King of Spades and the Queen of Hearts. Anybody who's left is gathering in Shibuya now that they've seen the blimps." Arisu observed
You tsked. "We need to take the king down."
"We can't go further if we don't." Usagi added on. "Huh? Look!"
You and Arisu looked to where Usagi had been pointing.
It took you a split second, but you were able to locate Ann and Kuina.
"Kuina!"
The two females turned to Arisu who called Kuina's name. Ann and Kuina rushed over.
'How is she still alive.. I thought Chishiya said that she was dead.'
Ann crouched down. "It's been a while."
"You're both okay. I'm so glad." Usagi said. "It's good to see you again."
Kuina looked at you and quickly spoke. "Where's Chishiya? Did he make it?"
"Yeah. I saw him, he's good." Arisu lied.
'He could die any fucking moment. I don't know shit about the anatomy.'
Ann looked over the car's rear. "Looks like the King of Spades wants to settle things here."
"We'll take the King down together." Kuina encouraged everyone.
Suddenly a shot grazed the car and everyone moved back against the car. You all peeked over the top and spotted the King shooting everyone down easily, leaving no one to escape.
Once the ground of firing was over, Arisu ran out and everyone else followed.
While stopping car to car, Ann nearly got shot and she misstepped, falling to the ground. The King approached her and killed the man who was next to her with a quick two bullets. However, before Ann was killed, she tried to pull out her own gun against hint, but he disarmed her quickly. You could recognize the swiftness and efficiency the King worked with. He was definitely trained by the best for years.
The King of Spades grabbed onto Ann's hair, but wasn't able to do anything after he was hit in the head by a kicked can from Kuina. It gave Ann the chance to escape and catch up with Kuina.
Suddenly, an engine roared. A car came by and you watched as it ran straight into the king.
The driver's side opened and the driver rolled out before the car was able to take the king with it and run into another car, exploding and causing a fire to ignite.
Everyone peeked from behind their hiding positions and watched the fire burn.
"We did it!"
"Yeah! We did it!"
"We finally got him!"
"Finally!"
'The blimp would've fallen by now.'
You looked up at the sky, doubt crowded your mind. Your suspicions were right once more bullets were fired.
The crowd gasped as the King rose from the flames, seeming untouched. He threw off his caps and his masks before turning to the three of you.
Usagi ran out and distracted the King of Spades.
While he continuously tried to shoot her, you ran around the area, trying to get your hands on any weapon you could find. This left Arisu to fend for himself.
Lucky for you, you found a fully automatic assault rifle that was full. There were also several boxes of bullets beside the gun too. You didn't know if it was planned by Mira, or your luck had just decided to kick in, but you were grateful nonetheless.
You picked up the gun and moved to the closest car and hid behind it.
The gunshots stopped for a bit, and you knew that the King had to reload. Right After he stood up, he was shot in the abdomen by an arrow. He didn't seem affected as he shot countless bullets at the one legged archer, missing every single one.
You adjusted your grip on the gun and began using her distracting him as an opportunity, but before you were able to shoot, he turned to you.
'Shit.'
Immediately, you ducked and ran through the maze of cars and bodies, losing him in the process.
"Aguni?" You called out to the muscular man who leaned on the pillar of the building.
It seemed like everyone else was on the inside, you could recognize their voices. "Aguni?"
"What are you doing here?" The archer asked him.
You moved to the opposite side of the exit, directly across from Aguni.
The ex-yakuza member kept his eyes ahead, watching the king. "I followed you here."
"So you do love me." She said.
Aguni crept out and crouched in the middle of the cylinder shaped elevator area, and he ignored her words. "He's just human. He's not invincible. And as for his guns, he won't be able to shoot forever. Once he runs out of ammo, he'll need to restock. I think they drop supplies from the blimps."
"We're all armed." You said, patting the pocket of your jacket while holding your rifle up.
Aguni looked at you in approval. "But this is all the ammo I've got left."
You reached into your pocket and took out a few bullets. "I think we use the same bullets."
While feeling around in your pocket, you felt something weird. Taking it out, you remembered it was an explosive that Chishiya had given you from earlier. You still haven't used it yet.
"I also have this." You held it out. "It's an explosive that Chishiya made."
Aguni sneered. "Chishiya? A lot of good that toy will do us."
"We can lure him in and use it at close range." Arisu quickly spoke, taking the explosive from your hand.
He put it up to his nose and smelled it. "From the way it smells, I'm guessing the bomb contains kerosene."
"And ANFO bomb." Ann said.
"Then the explosive won't be that big." Aguni simplified it further.
Arisu looked outside. "I can see a drugstore over there. If we can fill it up with gas, then the explosive will be bigger."
"Are you positive?" You confirmed with him.
"Probably."
Kuina's voice wavered. "So you're saying, someone needs to lure the King of Spades in there?"
"Yeah. I'll wait for him inside the store and then trigger it."
You looked at him dead in the eye. "You better have a foolproof escape."
"I'll make it out."
Ann wanted more details.
"When the bomb detonates, if I'm on the second floor, I'll be able to survive the fall. Probably." Arisu said.
The one legged archer turned to Arisu. "You know, you say 'probably' a lot."
"His 'probably' is worth betting on. It's worth its weight in gold. I'll be bait. I'll lure him in." Aguni joined the topic.
Usagi tried to get him to back out from doing it alone. "It's reckless to try to do it alone."
"I've handled a lot worse."
"We'll do it together." The mountain climber insisted, turning to Kuina.
Kuina nodded and turned to Aguni. "Yes, together. Just leave it to us."
Aguni let out a near inaudible scoff.
"Alright, then. Let's do it." Arisu said, a strange determination arose from him.
You followed behind everyone, and waited as the King ruthlessly shot down the remaining people.
Aguni poked his head out behind the wall for a second before turning back to face everyone. "We'll lure him to an alley so he can't get more ammo from the blimp. Then we'll lure him to the drugstore from there. I'm gonna go first. While I'm doing that, you'll go to the alley and draw him in."
He then turned to you, eyes stern. "Y/n and Arisu, you're going to have to make sure that the store is filled with gas."
The both of you nodded, understanding your job.
"Here, take a few more bullets in case then." You handed him another five.
He took them and swiftly placed the ammo into the pocket of his pants. With one last quick look at the environment, he moved out silently. Then you were left with Arisu.
You grabbed onto his shoulder. "Come on."
Arisu nodded and ran beside you, moving as quickly as possible against the vine infested building walls.
It didn't take long to make it to the store since the king was far too busy with Aguni and the rest of the group, trying to hunt them down.
When you made it into the shop, you couldn't help but let out a string of curses when you found how messy the place was. Nothing was organized.
"Here." Arisu handed you a shopping basket and kept one for himself. "Just skim through the place and bring all the cans that you can upstairs."
You checked the pocket of your jacket to make sure you still had the explosive with you. Thankfully, it was there. It gave you a small peace of mind before you went on a ramage trying to find all the cans you could.
"I can't find any more." You made eye contact with Arisu across the floor.
He kicked the junk left on the floor. "Me neither."
With that, the two of you ran up the stairs of the small store to the second floor. You dropped your basket onto the wooden ground and started taking out the cans so Arisu could quickly spray them.
After you took all the cans out, you started spraying them with Arisu, constantly coughing from the amount of gas that was in the confined space. You knew there wasn't much time left, and the adrenaline in your body wasn't quite enough to help you work any faster.
"Come on.. Come on..." You muttered, coughing.
When the cans were all empty, you gave Arisu a nod before heading out. You had to convince him to let you go, since he apparently thought it was too dangerous for you in your condition. You only wanted to do it because the gas filled store made your head spin like crazy.
You opened the patio door and walked out, silently. Only a few moments ago, you heard gunshots, but it was now silent.
The scene in front of you made your breath hitch.
