Jax's POV
"Goodnight Lara" I say and she looks up at me smiling.
"Goodnight Jax." She says opening the door and heading in the house.
Once she was in safely I smile and turn around. I head back to my car and head to my house. The gates open and I drive straight in. I park my car in the garage before going into the house.
I walk into the kitchen where mom and Gio where stood.
"I didn't know you were here." I say when I see Gio.
"Here I am." Gio says and smiles.
"Where were you tonight?" Mom asks crossing her arms over her chest.
"I'm literally an adult I don't need to tell you about everything I do." I groan and she raises an eyebrow.
"Whilst you live under my roof you will tell me where you went when I ask." She tells me and I sigh.
I cannot wait to move out from this house in January.
"Tell me." She says and I sigh.
"He was on a date." Gio says and I slap his arm.
Mom's mood changes instantly.
"With who? What's she like?" She bombard me with questions whilst I get a bottle of water from the fridge.
"I went with a girl I met like 2 weeks ago." I say and she raises an eyebrow.
"Yes she's beautiful. No your not going to met her yet. I don't know if it'll go further. I'm not telling you her name. Don't ask Gio about her and I'm going to go to my room so me and Gio can talk about something I have to do in about half an hour." I say and mom rolls her eyes and kisses Gio's forehead before we go up to my room.
"Fill me in." Gio says when I walk into my room. I sit down at my desk and Gio sits in front of it.
"I am not telling you about my date with Lara." I say and he rolls his eyes.
"Why not?" He asks with a raised eyebrow.
"It's s none of your buisness." I say and he rolls his eyes again.
"Look I know you like Lara and whatever so im curious stop being an asshole and tell me." He says and I roll my eyes.
"It was good." I say. Just thinking about our date brings a smile to my face.
"You're so happy it's making me feel sick." Gio says and I roll my eyes. "I've never seen you like this before man." He says and I roll my eyes. I'm going to punch him.
"It's different with Lara she doesn't know anything about this life. She just thinks I'm a business man." I say and smile.
"Did you find anything out?" He asks and I nod.
"Alannah is Lara's sister. Their dad left the day after her sixteenth birthday. James is not Alannah's dad but she's called him dad multiple times." I say and Gio nods then furrows his eyebrows.
"It still doesnt explain why shes a complete and utter ghost." He says and I nod. He's right. I probably would never do this if I didn't know much about someone before dating them.
"Right let's change subjects so we can run over tonight before actually going." I say and he nods.
Once it was time to head out I grab my phone from the desk and put it in my suit pocket. We head down to the garage and get into my car.
"What the fuck is that noise?" Gio asks once I pull out of the garage.
"Its your phone isn't it?" I ask and he shakes his head looking around. He pulls out a bag and turns to me.
"Who's is this?" He asks and I turn my head slightly and see Lara's bag.
He was half way through looking through it and pulling out her phone when I tell him to stop.
"It's Lara's." I say and he looks down at the phone.
It stopped ringing and you could see the lock screen which was a picture of James, Alannah and Lara. They were eating ice cream.
"We'll drop it off quickly." I say pulling out the gates. He taps her phone and then turns to me.
"Look I guessed her password." Gio says and I roll my eyes.
"Stop it your invading her privacy." I say and he scoffs.
"As if we haven't already done that by doing a background check. I'm just putting my number in chill out. Plus it wasn't like her password was difficult." He says and I roll my eyes.
"It won't stop ringing." Gio says putting it back in her bag.
"Well she's obviously needed." I say pulling up outside David's house.
"Stay here." I say getting out of the car and grabbing Lara's bag. I head over to the door and knock on the door.
David opens the door and raises an eyebrow.
"I just need to give Lara this." I say signalling to her bag.
"She's s in her room." He says and I nod.
I go up to Lara's room and knock on the door before opening it.
"Jax." Alannah says sitting up and rubbing her eyes.
"Hey." I say and she smiles softly.
"Why?" She asks and I raise an eyebrow.
"Your mom left her bag in my car." I say and she nods.
"Jesus Jax." Lara says walking out of the bathroom clutching her chest.
"Hi." I say smiling at her and admiring how beautiful she looks right now. She looks fucking amazing right now.
"What are you doing here?" She asks running a hand over her face clearly tired.
"Bag." Alannah fills in and we turn to Alannah. Lara sits down next to Alannah on the bed.
She takes her bracelet off and puts it on the nightstand.
"You left your bag in my car." I say handing it to her.
"I didn't even notice, sorry." She says taking her bag from me.
"Neither did I, Gio did." I say and she looks at me confused.
"It wouldn't stop ringing." I say and she pulls her phone out of her bag confused.
She looks at me confused then Alannah sits up trying to look at her phone. Lara tells her to go to sleep and kisses her forehead and she falls to sleep instantly.
"I didn't mean to wake her, sorry." I apologise and she smiles. She's cute.
"She was already awake and playing around for David the whole time." She says and laughs. Her laugh is beautiful.
"You look beautiful by the way." I say looking down at her pyjamas, her messy bun and makeup free face.
"Um... thank you. I'm not trying, I'm about to lie down and go to sleep." She says and I raise and eyebrow.
"You don't look disgusting and why do you struggle to sleep?" I ask and she smiles.
"Its a long story." She says and I smile at her.
"I look forward to hearing about it." I say and she smiles before climbing into bed.
"Goodnight Lara." I say and kiss her forehead.
I walk out of her room closing the door then walk downstairs.
"Jax." David calls stopping me as I begin to walk out the door.
"I haven't got long what's up?" I ask and he sighs.
"I still don't want you around Lara and Alannah." He tells me and I sigh. Really? We're still doing this?
"No Jax im serious. I don't know how much Lara has told you but they don't deserve the life you'll give them." He says and sighs.
"Look David I'm not doing anything to hurt them. They both seem like nice girls and Lara has made me feel better when I just talk to her." I say and David just shakes his head. He really doesn't want this.
"That's just what Lara is like but Jax they can't get involved with your lifestyle." He says and I nod.
"If anything progresses I'll tell her and I'll let her make the decision herself." I say and David nods.
"Fine but I mean it when I say I don't want them involved. So nothing better happen to them for being seen with you." He says.
"It won't" I nod before leaving.
Once I get back in the car Gio puts his phone down.
"You took ages." Gio says.
"Yeah I was talking to Lara then when I decided to leave David just started going off on one. Saying nothing better happen to them and what not." I say and Gio laughs.
We get to the club and we get out of the car. The music was already pumping and I turn to Gio and roll my eyes.
We cut the queue and the bouncers allow us in straight away. Another two bouncers take us to the office in the back.
As we walk there someone grabs my arm. I turn and see Gwen.
"Not right now." I say taking my arm from hers and she just pouts. I continue to follow the bouncers down the familiar club.
"Charles." I say sitting on the opposite side of the desk from him.
Gio sits beside me and we look at Charles firmly.
"Its nice to see you again Jax, Giovanni." Charles says and I roll my eyes. Not likewise.
"Cut to the chase Charles just give us the money so we can leave." I say and roll my eyes.
"Why don't you stay, have some drinks?" Charles asks and I roll my eyes yet again.
"I'm driving." I say when he grabs some glasses.
"Never stopped you before." He says putting a glass in front of me. Someone can't take a hint.
I grab the glass and throw it against the wall.
"I'm not playing your stupid games anymore. You either have the money or don't. You wanna hope you have the money Charles because otherwise I won't hesitate to put a bullet between your eyes." I say and Charles rolls his eyes.
"I remember when you used to be fun." He says and I roll my eyes yet again.
He puts a briefcase on the table which Gio then opens and begins to count.
"You know Gwen is here today." He says and I roll my eyes.
"I don't care if Jesus was here today." I say and Gio laughs whilst counting the money.
"Its not all here." Gio says. I look Charles dead in the eyes.
"How much is missing?" I ask Gio whilst staring Charles in the eye.
"About 3 grand." Gio says and I roll my eyes.
I take my gun that was tucked into the side of my jeans and set it between his eyes.
Not a lot of people believe I'm as good as my dad so I have to prove that with people like Charles.
"No don't shoot." Charles says trying to move away.
"Where's the rest of the money?" I ask and he sighs.
"I haven't got it yet." He says and I roll my eyes and shoot him.
I'm so bored of all these games.
"I told you I didn't want to play your games." I spit and walk outside to see two bouncers standing, guarding the door.
"Clean that up." I command and they nod and head in. We then head back to my car with the briefcase.
We owned this club and well the bouncers all work for us meaning they'll do as they're told. Well from me Gio anyway.
We get home and I park in the garage and we get out of the car and head straight to dads home office.
I knock on the door and when dad shouts, "Come in." we walk in.
"How'd it go?" He asks and Gio puts the briefcase down on his desk.
"He's dead." I say and dad nods.
"How short?" He asks opening the brief case.
"Three grand." I say and dad nods.
"Okay thank you boys you can go." Dad says and we turn around.
"Wait." He shouts causing us to stop and spin around to face him.
"Your mother told me you went on a date this evening. I want her background check on my desk by the morning." He says and I roll my eyes.
Is he fuck having her background check.
"No I want a bit of privacy." I say and he raises his eyebrows at me.
"Don't talk back to me boy. You will listen to me when I say I want it on my desk by the morning." He says and I sigh.
"If you don't want to give me her background check give me her name and I'll do it myself." dad says and I sigh. No way.
If he founds out we can't find anything on Lara he'll tell me to cut it off immediately and I like Lara. She's taken over a lot of my thoughts recently.
"It'll be on your desk first thing." I lie and turn around to leave.
"What are you going to do? We can't find anything on her." Gio says and I roll my eyes.
"I'll give him a background check on Gwen." I say shrugging my shoulders.
"If he finds out, you're a dead man." Gio tells me and I just shrug. What else can I do?
"He won't." I say and sigh.
"I'll see you tomorrow." He says and I nod. I head up to my room and into my room.
I get into my room and sit at my desk. I look over some documents there then sign what needed to be done.
I then pull out my laptop and begin to do the background check on Gwen.
I print it and put it in a folder before heading to dads office. He wasn't there so I put it on his desk and went back up to my room.
I changed from my suit then sat at the foot of my bed for ages.

At 6am I climb out of bed and get some gym clothes on. I work out in the gym in my basement everyday with Gio without a doubt.
After using the gym I tell Gio to meet me at the warehouse. I go up to my room and take a shower.
Just as I finished doing my tie, there was a knock on the door.
"Yeah come in." I shout putting my suit jacket on.
"Your father requested to see you in his home office." Our butler says and I nod. Great. What is it now?
"Thanks." I say. I put on my shoes before putting my phone in my pocket.
I knock on the door before waiting for dad to shout back.
"If its Jax get your ass in here." He shouts and I roll my eyes and walk in.
"What's up?" I ask closing the door behind me.
"I know you didn't go on a date with Gwen last night. I watched the footage and unless Gwen died her hair in 2 hours and shrunk a little bit I don't think it was her." He says raises an eyebrow.
"So explain to me now why your lying to me." He says slamming his hands on the desk and standing.
"I want privacy. I did my research on the girl and shes not going to harm me. I don't see why you can't trust me." I say and he just sighs.
It's silent for a few beats and then he talks.
"If this comes back to bite us in the ass it's on you." He says and I roll my eyes.
"I know." I say nodding.
"Can't you atleast tell me her first name or like her last name." He tries to bargain and I raise an eyebrow.
"Come on I'm going to need something to calm me down." He says and I sigh.
"Her name is Lara." I say and he nods his head.
"I've heard that name before, is she associated with this lifestyle?" He asks and I shake my head.
He takes a deep breath already not liking the fact that I'm going to date someone who is innocent in this.
"Just go to the warehouse." He says and I nod and walk out.
