Lara's POV
"Mama." Alannah shouts in my eat causing me to jump up.
"What's wrong?" I ask worriedly and she smiles cheekily at me.
"Nothing." She says and I just nod. Wow. Okay. She shouted in my ear for nothing.
"I'm hungry." She says and as if on que there was a knock at the door.
"Yeah." I call and Nicole opens the door.
"Breakfast is done." She says and I nod.
"We'll be down in five." I say and she nods.
I stretch before we climb out of bed and head downstairs.
"Manhã." Nicole says when we go into the dinning room which makes me smile.
"Yayay!" Alannah says and claps her hands.
We sit down and I cut Alannah's breakfast up.
"How'd your date go?" Nicole asks.
"Does this mean you love Jax?" Alannah asks and I shake my head laughing.
"Where did you go?" Nicole asks.
"An Italian restaurant." I say and she smiles.
"That's so cute." She says and I smile.
"When am I going to see Jax and Vanni again?" Alannah asks.
"I don't know sweetheart." I say and she nods and eats her food.
After I eat breakfast we go into the living room. Nicole puts on sofia the first and sits beside me.
"Is everything all right with your sister" I ask and she nods.
"She was just upset" she says and I smile sympathetically.
We chilled around the living room for about an hour before getting ready.
Nicole and David already got ready before breakfast. They then watched Alannah for me whilst I had a shower.
Once I get out of the shower I get changed into light blue jeans and a plain black top. I tuck my top Into my jeans.
I then take my hair out of it's bun and brush it.
I then quickly make my bed. Once I was ready I go downstairs and get Alannah.
"Come on bub it's your turn to get ready." I say and she stands up and runs over to me. "Thank you." I say to Nicole and she just smiles.
We go up to our room where we go into the bathroom to brush Alannahs teeth.
After brushing her teeth I clean her face and we head back into our room. I get Alannah dressed into some blue jeans and a yellow chunky knit jumper.
After getting Alannah changed I sit her between my legs and I brush her hair. After brushing her hair I put her hair into 2 space buns then kiss her cheek and she turns to me.
"Mama." She says and I smile.
"Yes bubba?" I ask and she smiles and hugs me. I hug her back until she pulls back.
"What are we doing today?" She asks and I take a deep breath.
Here we go.
"We're going home" I say and she takes a deep breath.
"Home." she repeats worriedly. I nod and the she begins to cry.
"Alannah please don't cry. You know when your with me she won't do anything and we need to face her at some point. Plus she probably won't be there anyway." I say and wipe away some of her tears.
I hate seeing Alannah cry it literally breaks my heart. I pull her into a hug and she calms down under my hug.
We spent half an hour just cuddling till she had calmed down. I was stroking her back when she pulled away.
"Can I play with my toys?" She says and I nod.
I kiss her before helping her off the bed. She was playing with some toys at the desk whilst I was sorting out our bags.
I left the majority of our stuff packed away. I put the bags on the bed and grab my phone to see I had eight missed calls from the same number that kept ringing last night.
I don't answer to people I don't know.
I see James had text me saying, 'Hey stranger.'
I text him back apologising and all before seeing the time. It was now about mid day.
I put our bags in the hallway downstairs before going into the living room holding Alannah's hand.
"So today we have to go see my sister, but your more then welcome to stay." Nicole says.
"I need to head home, I need to sort things out" I say and Nicole looks at the floor whilst David nods.
"Well as long as you know you can come here whenever." He says and I smile.
I need to come around more often so it doesn't look like I'm using them.
I hug them and then they walk us to the door. I put the bags in the trunk of the car whilst they say goodbye to Alannah. I walk back up the steps to their house and they smile.
"Well we'll see you soon." I say and hug them again and they smile.
I pick Alannah up and head to the passenger side. I strap her in ber car seat then head over to my side.
I connect my phone to the aux and play music. We then wave at David and Nicole as we head out.
We get home and I get out of the car. I get Alannah out of the car and walk over to the door and unlock it for her.
I walk back over to the car and open the trunk.
There was a scream. It was Alannah's scream. It was also the most deafening scream i've ever heard.
I ran into the house and saw her standing over my mothers body on the floor. There was blood surrounding her in a puddle. I lean down beside her and put my fingers on her neck to try and find a pulse.
I can find it but it was faint.
"Alannah get me my phone." I say and she runs and grabs my phone where I then ring an ambulance.
It takes 5 minutes for the ambulance to arrive. I stayed beside her the whole time applying pressure to her wound.
The ambulance rush into the house and do everything they need to.
Once the paramedics took over I wipe the blood that was covered all over my hands into my jeans. I then hug Alannah who was crying.
There was people outside and even the police were here.
I picked Alannah up and rested her on my hip where she continued to cry into my shoulder.
My mom was taken out on a stretcher when I see Jax stood by the door. The police at the door tell him to stay back but as soon as I see him I sigh in relief.
"He's fine to come in." I say and the police officer nodded at me before allowing Jax in.
"What the fuck is going on?" Jax asks confused.
"What are you doing here Jax?" I ask whilst stroking Alannah's back.
"I came to bring you flowers and thank you again for last night. I went to David and Nicole's and they said you went home. I came here and well there's cops and ambulances here, so what's going on?" He asks.
We go into the kitchen and I bin Jake's flowers that were dead now in the vase sat in the middle of the island.
I fill the vase with fresh water then put Jax's flowers in the vase.
"Thank you for the flowers." I say and he smiles.
I sit beside Jax at the island with Alannah in my lap. Her head hadn't moved from my shoulder and her fingers were tangled in my hands.
My hands and jeans were covered in dry blood and I can't do anything other than sigh.
"Lara." Jax says putting his hand on my thigh. I look at his hand then up at him.
"What happened?" Be asks and I shrug.
"I uh let Alannah in the house and went back to the car to get our bags when I heard Alannah scream. I uh I ran in after her and she was just staring at my mom that's when I saw it." I say and he sighs.
"I'm sorry Lara." He says and I shrug.
"You shouldn't apologise for something you didn't do." I say and he frowns.
"I'm going to take Alannah up to bed." I say and he nods.
I gently stand up and walk up to Alannah's room. I tuck her into bed and then hold her hand as I sit beside her bed and cry.
"Hey the cops wanted---" Jax says before rushing to my side. "Hey hey it's okay." He says and hugs me.
I carefully remove my hand from Alannah's to hug him back. After about five minutes of me crying and hugging Jax we pulled back.
"I'm normally not sympathetic so just know your lucky." He says and I laugh and wipe away some tears.
"But why you give the best hugs?" I ask and he rolls his eyes playfully. "
Miss Fernandez." a cop says knocking on the door.
"Can you watch her whilst I talk to the cops, it'll only be like 5 minutes." I say drying my eyes and he nods.
"Yes." he says and I thank him. I stand up and then follow the Cop downstairs.
After explaining everything to the cops they nod and write it down. When they finally leave I head back upstairs to see Alannah and Jax hugging.
I lean against the door frame and cough causing them to turn around.
"Mama." Alannah says standing up and coming over to hug me.
"I'm gonna clean downstairs then get cleaned up myself." I say and Alannah nods.
"Are you staying or leaving?" I ask Jax.
"I'll stay." He says and I nod.
"Well I'm going to clean downstairs quickly and then you can come down." I say switching the tv on. I put doc mcstuffins on and Alannah claps her hand.
I go downstairs and the first thing I do is clean the puddle of blood up off the floor.
I cleaned in the kitchen and the living room completely.
I went up to my room and got clean clothes out. I tied my hair into a messy bun then had a quick shower to clean off all the blood that was still on me.
Once I got out of the shower I put on leggings and a hoodie.
I go into Alannah's room and then where Jax and Alannah were sat on the floor. Jax was on his phone texting but Alannah was colouring.
"Hey." I say and they both look up to me.
"Mama look!" Alannah shouts showing me her colouring.
"Well done bubba." I say and kiss her cheek. She smiles then stands up and heads over to me and hugs my legs.
"Hey I need to run but I'll be back soon." Jax says and I look at him to see him standing up.
"We'll walk you out." I say and he smiles.
We walk downstairs and then we walk Jax to the door.
"Bye Jax." Alannah says and hugs his leg.
He smiles at her and I smile and pick her up. Jax smiles at me and leans down and kisses my cheek.
"I won't be gone to long." He says and I smile.
When Jax was gone I put the tv on for Alannah before going into the kitchen to make her something to eat.
It's about 2pm so it's just gone lunch. I just made her a cheese sandwich for lunch and gave her a banana as well.
I called her into the kitchen where I sit her at the island so she can eat. I wasn't hungry, I felt sick at the thought of eating.
After Alannah finishes her lunch I decide fo head to the hospital. I grab a toy for Alannah to play with and then grab her beaker and put them in my bag. I pick Alannah up and head out locking the door behind me.
I put Alannah in the passenger seat and strap her into the car seat.
"Lara." someone shouts causing me to spin around as I shut Alannah's door.
It was one of our neighbour's who I didn't personally know the name of.
"What happened?" They ask pointing to my house.
"I don't really wanna talk about it." I say walking round to my side of the car. I get in and then drive to the hospital.
I walk into the hospital carrying Alannah and I walk up to the front desk.
"Melanie Fernandez?" I ask and they type in the system.
"3rd floor 4th room." she says and I smile and walk off.
My mom and dad are divorced I remember the day she got the letter through. But to her work colleagues she looks like she has the perfect life. She has a daughter and a husband and her dream job. But in reality that is not the case.
We go in the elevator and when we walk down the corridor to her room someone shouts my name. I turn around to see Jake. I roll my eyes and continue walking.
He grabs my shoulder and turns me around and I just roll my eyes.
"What do you want?" I ask and sigh.
"What happened?" He asks and I just roll my eyes.
"I don't know." I say and turn around and walk into my moms room.
"How is she?" I ask when I see Rebecca in there.
"She's alright for now, she won't wake up until tomorrow." She says and I sigh.
"What happened?" She asks and I shrug my shoulders.
"I came home and found her in that state." I say and take a deep breath.
"You should go back home you know. There's no point waiting around." She says.
You're telling me I came all the way here for nothing? What a waste.
"I'll be back tomorrow" I tell her and Rebecca nods. "Come on then." I say to Alannah and we head out.
We get back home and I spent most of the time with my knees in my chest.
Alannah was playing on the floor but I just felt drained. I just sat there thinking about what had happened.
What if I didn't want to come home till tomorrow or Monday? She would have died. I may still be angry at my mom for everything that happened but I didn't expect to see her like this.
"Mommy are you okay?" Alannah asks snapping me out of my thoughts.
"Yeah I'm okay." I say and she stands up and walks over to me and wipes a tear that I didn't know had fallen.
"Its okay mama." She says and I smile and then there was a knock at the door.
Alannah runs over to the window beside the door.
"Jax." she squeals and opens the door.
I wipe away the rest of my tears with the back of my hands. I take a deep breath when Alannah climbs in my lap.
"Muma is upset." Alannah says and I sigh.
"I'm fine bubba it's nothing." I say and kiss her forehead. Jax put his hand on my knee and I look up at him.
"Everything will be okay." He says and I sigh.
"I brought food." Jax says picking up a pizza box.
"Yay." Alannah shouts and I stand up and head into the kitchen where they both follow.
I get two slices and put them on a plate for Alannah.
"Mom why aren't you eating" Alannah asks before taking a mouthful of food.
"I'm not hungry bubba." I say and she nods whilst continuing to eat. I fill up her beaker and put it on the island for her.
"How come your back?" I ask Jax as he takes a slice of pizza.
"I told you I was coming back." He says raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah I know but I didn't think you meant today." I say taking a sip of water.
After dinner I went and sat back on the sofa with my knees in my chest. I put sofia the first on which makes Alannah smile.
Jax sits beside me whilst Alannah lies on the floor. On her stomach she was multi tasking between watching tv and colouring.
It was about 8pm and I didn't realise the time until I noticed how tired Alannah was.
"Shoot its bed time for you." I say standing up.
"Can Jax say Goodnight too?" She asks and I turn to Jax. He nods his head as I pick Alannah up and she claps her hand.
We go to Alannah's room where I get her into her pyjamas and lie her down in bed. I sit beside her and hold her hand and Jax sits infront of me.
"Mama who was that man at the hospital?" She says yawning.
"It was no one bub. Just go to sleep." I say and kiss her forehead.
"I love you." She says turning on her side.
"I love you too." I say and kiss her cheek whilst she yawns again.
"Jax." she yawns and he smiles at her. "Your nice to Mama so can you cheer her up." She asks closing her eyes.
"Of course I can." He says and she smiles faintly.
"Goodnight Alannah." Jax says and I repeat what he says before replacing my hand with one of her cuddly bears. I switch her night light and we step out and head back downstairs.
I go into the living room and clean away Alannah's toys.
"Hey." Jax says and I look up at her. "What's wrong?" He asks whilst I stand up.
"Nothing." I say putting a toy in the toy box.
"Lara." He says following me.
He grabs my wrists and holds them in front of me.
"I want to hate her for everything I do I really do but here I am just worrying about her." I say and he sighs and wraps his arms around me.
We sit on the sofa where I put my knees into my chest.
"Do you think it's safe for me to be here, no one saw or has a clue who hurt my mom. What if they come back?" I ask and Jax puts his arm around me.
"You'll be fine." He says and I sigh and put a head on his shoulder.
"I can't even hate her." I say and he looks at me confused.
"I don't even think you'd ever be capable of hating someone. You have a good heart." He says and I sigh.
After talking with Jax we had watched a film on the tv.
"How come no one's checked up on you?" Be asks and I furrow my eyebrows.
"Well it's all over the news that you and Alannah found her. Why hasn't anyone rang you?" He asks. Good question.
I sit up and grab my phone from the coffee table. I put my head back on his shoulder and look over my notifications.
I had about 5 calls each from Nicole and David and 28 from James along with multiple texts. I also had 8 missed calls from that unknown number. I roll my eyes and delete the calls before texting James back.
James-why aren't you answering my calls????
James- I saw the news on my phone earlier
James-call or text me
James- Lara seriously right now is not the time to fall of the face of the earth
Lara- Hey sorry my phone was on silent , me and Alannah are fine.
I send the same text to Nicole and as soon as I hit send James rings me.
"Lara what the hell?" He shouts down the phone.
"I'm sorry I haven't been on my phone since I called the ambulance. I didn't see or hear you call." I tell him and you can hear him take a breath of relief.
"What happened?" He asks worriedly.
I sigh before then telling him what happened. I stand up which causes Jax to grunt as his head falls without my head for support.
"Who was that?" James asks.
"Alannah." I say and I could feel the eye roll from here.
"No that was a man, was it Jake?" I laugh at his statement.
"I didn't tell you." I say walking into the kitchen where I then tell him everything that happened with Jake.
"Wait I though dad was being stupid when he said Jax I thought he got Jax mixed up with Jake but he didn't did he?" He asks and I roll my eyes.
"Why didn't you tell me?" He asks and I shrug.
"I don't know." I say and he sighs.
"Well don't let me keep you. Just don't fall of the face of the earth." He says and I smile and say goodbye.
I go back into the living room and sit back beside Jax.
He puts his arm around me and pulls me back beside him. I smile and put my head on his shoulder and he leans his head on mine.
"Are you okay?" I ask Jax hardly moving.
"Yeah why?" He asks watching the tv.
"You feel tense." I tell him and he just laughs before raising an eyebrow at me.
"How would you know?" He asks.
"I've wanted to be a therapist for so long so looking at body language and all that is sort of what I do in my free time." I admit to him and he smiles. "That's cool" he says and I shrug my shoulders.
We were watching an episode of Brooklyn nine nine when his phone rang. He didn't seem to happy when he answered but I moved away from him.
"Of course he would of fucking course." Jax says angrily.
"Well I'll be there as fast as I can." He says sighing.
"Yes I'm still here." He says rolling his eyes.
"Yeah whatever bye." He says hanging up the call.
"I need to go but Gio said hi." He says and I laugh slightly.
"Okay." I say and smile. I walk him to the door where I hug him.
"Thank you for being here for me and Alannah today." I say and he smiles.
"It was my pleasure." He says putting his hand on my cheek and I smile.
He leans down and kisses me. Once we pull away he smiles at me before taking his hand off of my cheek.
"Call me if you need me or something." He tells me, I nod and smile.
"Goodnight Lara." He says kissing my forehead before walking to his car.
"Goodnight." I call as he gets in his car and he waves at me.
Once Jax left it was about 10pm but I was physically and emotionally drained.
I made sure all the windows, door and everything were were locked. I go into my room and lie there on my bed. I then drag myself into the bathroom to wash my face and brush my teeth. I then get changed into some pyjamas before getting into bed.
I couldn't really sleep every time I closed my eyes all I could see was my mom on the floor in a pool of blood.
"Mama." A voice calls out. I look over to my door to see Alannah sat there.
"I can't sleep." She says closing the door. I help her climb up into my bed.
I pull her over me and put her on the right side of my bed. I turn on my side to face her and she does the same.
"What's up?" I ask her and she yawns.
"All I can see is that Lady on the floor and its scary." She admits and I nod my head.
"Me too but it's okay because she's getting help." I say she nods.
Me and Alannah spoke for about an hour before we fell asleep how we normally do.
