When I wake up I grab my phone to see it was 11am. Shit that's the latest I've ever woke up. The knocking on the door wouldn't go away.
I run downstairs and open my front door.
"Are you only now waking up?" Jax asks and I run my hand over my face.
"Yeah." I say yawning.
"You look cute." another voice says and I instantly recognize it as Gio's.
I open the door wider for them to come in.
"Where's Alannah?" Gio asks looking around.
"Still asleep." I say and yawn again.
"Jesus what time did you go to bed?" Jax asks.
"Well I couldn't sleep properly and when Alannah came into my room we were talking for ages so probably some time after four." I furrow my eyebrows trying to do the math.
"Mama!" Alannah screams and I turn around and run up the stairs to my room.
"I was downstairs your okay. " I say and she nods. I walk over to my bed and hug her.
"Cute room." Jax says scaring me. What?
"Jesus Jax." I say and he laughs.
"You're still here." Alannah asks and Jax chuckles.
"I just got here, you guys slept in." Jax says and she nods whilst wiping her eye.
"Come on let's go get breakfast." I say picking her up and carrying her downstairs.
I take her into the kitchen and sit her on the counter.
"What shall we have for breakfast?" I ask and Alannah shrugs.
"You guys can sit in the living room if you want." I say addressing Gio and Jax behind us.
"Thirsty." Alannah says so I fill up her beaker and hand it to her. I stare at the island for a solid five minutes before it came to me.
"Mama!" Alannah shouts in my ear.
"Alannah stop shouting in my ear." I say rubbing my ear with the palm of my hand.
"Jax is talking to you but your ignoring him." She tells me and I look at Jax.
"Sorry what did you say?" I ask and he laughs.
"I asked if you were okay and what your plans were today." He tells me and I yawn.
"I'm fine and we're going to the hospital." I say and he nods.
"French toast." I shout and Jax and Gio exchange looks before looking at me weirdly.
"Yay." Alannah squeals.
I cut up a banana and give a bit to Alannah before putting it in the blender. I get eggs out and milk out before making breakfast.
After serving up mine and Alannah's breakfast and offering the boys some. We sit at the island.
After having breakfast I gulped a whole cup of coffee because I just felt so tired.
"Easy tiger." Gio says and I roll my eyes and turn to Alannah.
"Is James going to ring me?" Alannah asks and I run upstairs and grab my phone.
As I get upstairs James facetimes me.
"Hey." I say taking my phone off charge.
"Hi where's Alannah?" He asks and I roll my eyes. James rings every Sunday morning to specifically talk to Alannah.
I head downstairs and shout Alannah then she runs over to me. I sit her on the sofa and hand her my phone.
"James!" She squeals.
"You look cute." Jax asks and I smile whilst thanking him.
"Are you to always together?" I ask looking between Jax and Gio.
"Pretty much." Jax says and shrugs.
"I can't wait to see you in a suit Gio. " I say standing next to Jax.
We were all stood in a line looking at Alannah as she was on the phone.
"What makes you think I'm going to see you in January?" Gio asks. Um... is that rude or is he just being curious?
"Because we're all friends." I say rolling my eyes.
"You got friend zoned." Gio says nudging Jax.
"Shut up Gio." He says putting his arm around me.
"She just called you her friend dude." Gio says. Jax turns to me and I look up at him
"Are we just friends?" Jax asks.
"Um I thought so." I say shyly.
"Do you kiss all your friends?" Jax asks and I shake my head. I've never had many friends and I haven't kissed James.
"Well there you are unless you want to be just friends." He says and I shrug. That best not be his excuse to ask me out.
"I'm going to be sick." Gio says walking back into the kitchen and I laugh.
"I'm going to get ready." I say kissing Alannah's cheek.
"Be good." I say and she nods.
"Wait, do you just leave her here?" Gio asks and I roll my eyes.
"Obviously not, she's on facetime to James which she normally does in my room. But you two are here and your not all going to sit in my room and patiently wait for me to get out the shower." I say rolling my eyes.
They aren't the smartest pair sometimes.
Once I get out of the shower I had gotten dressed. I put on dark blue jeans and a black long sleeve jumper. I tuck it into my jeans.
I then blow dry and straighten my hair. I then make my bed and put Alannah's cuddly bear inbetween the pillows.
I quickly put on some concealer and mascara and do my eyebrows before rushing downstairs.
Jax and Gio were sat on either side of Alannah and she was on my phone. She was still on facetime to James.
I cough to gain everyone's attention and everyone turns to look at me.
"Come on Alannah." I say and she turns around and runs over to me.
"Won't be long." I tell them and they nod.
I take Alannah upstairs and talk to James for a minute or two. I end the call then before getting Alannah dressed.
I get her to put on pink bottoms with a white frill around her ankles. I then get her a matching top with the frill on the shoulder.
I help her put some white socks on before brushing her hair. I put her hair into a bun before getting her up. I make her bed then head downstairs.
We get downstairs and Gio and Jax were flicking through the tv.
"So I didn't ask what you were doing here." I say and they didn't even flinch.
"I came to check up on you and what not." Jax says.
Alannah gets her doctor stuff out to play with Gio. I then lean against the wall and look at Jax.
"You could of just called plus you've been here longer then you would have needed to be." I say and Jax stands up and walks over to me.
"Yes I could have but I wanted to see you in person." He says standing infront of me. I look up and he just smiles at me.
"So when are you planning to go to the hospital?" Jax asks.
"In a minute." I say and he nods.
"We need to do a quick job." Gio speaks up and I nod.
"Alright." I say and walk past Jax.
I sit and put some shoes on before helping Alannah with hers. Once we put her shoes on I fill up her beaker and grab a toy for her to play. I put them in my car and we all walk out the door together.
I unlock my car then Gio and Alannah have a race to it. I strap Alannah in her car seat and walk over to the drivers side.
"How come Alannah sits in the front with you?" Jax asks as I go to open my car. I stand still and he towers over me.
"She's the only one that rides in a car with me now James is gone." I say and he nods.
"We won't be long anyway." He says and I shrug.
"I don't know how long I'll be." I say and he smiles.
He leans down but a phone call interrupted us.
I go into my bag and see it's that unknown number. I end the call and look back up at Jax.
"Call me when your done at the hospital." He says and I nod.
He leans back down and kisses me before Gio shouting separated us.
"Move your ass Jax, she friend zoned you." Gio shouts. Jax rolls his eyes at Gio.
He opens the car door for me kisses my cheek again and I climb into the car.
"Bye Alannah." Jax says leaning down.
"See you soon Jax." She says waving. I then say goodbye to Jax and head to the hospital.

We get to the hospital and I get Alannah out of the car. She holds my hand and we go to my moms hospital room. I get in her room and she was sat in her bed on her phone.
"Hi mom." I say and she looks over at me shocked.
"I didn't think you'd come here." She says and I shrug. I sit Alannah down on a chair and hand her a toy.
"I uh... thought you left for good but the cops said you were the one that found me." She tells me and I nod.
"What happened?" I ask her and she sighs and rubs her forehead.
"I can't remember anything from yesterday at all, which is normal because I had such a significant blow to the head?" She says and I sigh.
She can't remember anything?
"I thought you were gonna die." I admit to her and she laughs.
"Don't be so dramatic." She says and I sigh.
"No I'm serious it was horrific I couldn't sleep last night neither could Alannah." I say and she just rolls her eyes.
"Well I'm fine Lara stop worrying." She tells me.
Is she serious?
I walk over to Alannah and pick her up, resting her on my hip.
"Where you going?" She asks when I walk over to the door.
It's not like she actually wants us here.
"I seriously thought you were gonna die. I was really concerned and your acting like this." I say and she sighs.
"Lara calm down." She says and I roll my eyes. I'm not even angry.
"Calm down, I got like no sleep because I was worried and every time I closed my eyes all I could see was you." I argue and she sighs.
"Lara seriously we are at my work, don't cause a scene." She tells me firmly and I roll my eyes. I'm so fucking done
"Oh right, I forgot that according to everyone you have a perfect little life." I scoff and leave the hospital.
I put Alannah in the car and the walk over to my seat. I put my head on wheel and take a deep breath.
"Mommy." Alannah says putting her hand on my arm. I take my head off the wheel and look at her.
"What's up?" I ask and she smiles faintly at me.
"I love you." She says and I smile.
"I love you too." I say before starting the car.
When we get home me and Alannah go in and we sit on the sofa.

We chilled all day and it was nice. I made dinner and now I just got Alannah out of the bath. I brush through her wet hair and put it into two french plaits
. She was wearing her doc mcstuffins pyjamas and she was quite tired because she didn't have a nap today.
I put her into bed and she cuddle her cuddly bear.
"Goodnight Alannah." I say and she smiles before closing her eyes. I kiss her cheek and switch her night light on before heading out.
I sit on the sofa downstairs and cry. I hate crying infront of Alannah that's why I wait until she goes to sleep.
I wanted to talk to someone that lead to me face timing James.
"Hey, oh my god are you okay?" He asks as I wipe away some tears with the back of my hand.
"No." I say letting out a soft chuckle.
"I miss you so much." I say and he sighs.
"It wont be much longer till I see you next." He says and I just nod whilst sighing. I know that I just want to see him now.
"I know but I just want to see you." I say and sigh.
"Where's Jax?" He asks and I shrug my shoulders.
Shit. Wasn't I supposed to call him?
"What's wrong is it Jax I'll come back and I'll beat him up." He says making me laugh.
"My mom is being her normal self." I tell and he groans.
"I'm sorry Lara I wish I was there." He says and I sigh.
"I wish you were here too." I admit, sighing again.
"I spoke to Jax earlier when you were in the shower." He says and I raise an eyebrow.
"That explains why he didn't come back then." I joke.
"I only asked why he was interested in you and what his intentions were." He admits and I sigh.
"James." I say and he smiles at me.
"Do you like him because I know he likes you?" He asks and I smile and look down whilst blushing.
"Awh Lara." He says and I smile.
A knock on the door makes me look at James confused.
"Who's here it's late?" I question and James smiles widely.
"You really think I'd let you be alone whilst crying." He says and I stand up and walk over to the door.
I open the door to Jax and I look down at my phone to James.
"Bye." He says smiling then ends the call.
I roll my eyes and put my phone in my back pocket.
"You don't have to stay here, you can go home." I offer walking back into the house.
I sit on the sofa and the front door shuts and Jax comes and sits beside me.
"James text me saying you were crying, what was wrong?" He asks and I sigh.
"Its a long story." I say before going into the kitchen.
I get a glass of water before sitting at the island.
"Well we've got all night." Jax says putting his hand on my thigh. I smile weakly and take a sip of my drink.
"When my dad left my mom became a workaholic. After she had Alannah of course. I didn't realise she was not taking care of Alannah properly for two weeks. She went back to work way quicker then she should of and I never got to ask her about it. Then well I basically became Alannah's mom and what not." I admit to him.
"My mom shouts at Alannah and blames it all on her. My dad leaving and all. She came crying to me about it." I tell him, releasing a sigh.
"Why are you still here?" He asks.
"I asked my mom a few times and she said Alannah was lying. I believe Alannah more than my mom and well I'm waiting for proof now." I say and he nods.
"That's what Alannah was crying about the other night" I admit, sighing.
"Have you thought about gaining custody of Alannah?" Be asks and I sigh.
"I spoke to David and Nicole about it but because I live under my mother's roof still, I can't." I say and sitting back on the sofa.
"Why don't you move out?" He asks and I look at him confused. I wish it were that simple.
"I don't have a job or anyone to take care of Alannah whilst I work." I say and he nods.
"I want to go back to school when Alannah goes to school. James will be back here to help and well yeah." I nod and he sighs.
"You know I can help you." He says and I raise an eyebrow.
He's offering to help me?
"You have a job plus your taking over your dads company in January so I'm guessing your really busy." I say and he shakes his head.
"Well don't get me wrong I do get busy but I can try and help you when you need it." He admits and I smile as my chest warms.
That's so kind and sweet.
"Thanks Jax." I say smiling.

After talking with Jax for a while I start to get tired.
"I think I'm going to head to bed." I say standing up and yawning.
"Alright." He says walking over to the door.
"Thanks for coming over and cheering me up." I say and he smiles.
"Anything to see your smile." He says and I roll my eyes playfully. He leans down and kisses me before leaving.
Once I check all the doors were locked I went upstairs. I get changed into my pyjamas and put my hair in a messy bun.
I went to switch my light off when I heard faint cries. I walk into Alannah's room and she was asleep but was crying. I walk over to her bed and wake her up.
She sits up and looks at me before wrapping her arms around me.
"Is it my fault?" She asks and I look at her confused.
"What do you mean?" I ask wiping a tear away.
"That lady was in the hospital, is it my fault?" She asks again and I hug her tightly.
My chest constricts. Why would she think it's her fault?
"Of course it wasn't." I say and she continues to cry.
After taking Alannah to my bed and me trying to stop her from crying she finally fell to sleep. I was lying beside her just thinking about it.
Mom's s going to have to take some time off work now so Alannah is going to be scared out of her mind.
It got to about 3 in the morning before I finally fell asleep.
