Lara's POV
Halloween
Things have definitely been different since we've been at Nicole and David's.
The beginning of this week me and Alannah spent worried but the second half of the week I spent concerned.
Alannah hardly talks. She says one word answers and that's it. I'm obviously concerned about it but when I ask her she just says "it hurts" or "tired" it's probably a bit of both but it hurts me that she's hurting.
When I woke up this morning Alannah was already sat up and was crying.
"What's wrong?" I ask her straight away.
"Mommy it really hurts." She cries and I sigh.
"I know I know, do you want some medicine?" I ask and she nods.
I stand up and gently pick her up and take her downstairs.
"Morning." Nicole says and I smile and sit Alannah down at the island.
"I'm just serving breakfast up." she says and I smile.
"Alright im just going to get Alannah some medicine." I say and she nods.
When me and Alannah go into the dinning room I cut Alannah's breakfast up even smaller pieces then usual.
She's almost completely lost her appetite too which is also worrying me.
"Alannah are you excited to go trick or treating?" Nicole asks and Alannah shrugs.
"What you were excited last week?" Nicole says and Alannah shrugs again. I sigh and take a sip of some orange juice.
"We'll have a great time." I say and she shrugs again.
After breakfast we went into the living room to chill before getting ready.
Alannah was sat with her legs crossed on the floor playing with a new toy Nicole got her the other day.
"How you holding up?" Nicole asks and I sigh.
"Not very good." I say and she smiles sympathetically.
"Have you spoke to Jax?" She asks and I shake my head.
"I text Gio back on Friday but I'm just distancing myself now." I say and she sighs.
"Maybe you should talk to him." She says and I shake my head.
"No we were never together so it doesn't matter anyway." I say and she sighs.
I get I'm being stubborn and selfish and finding my mom was for the best but I can't even think about Jax right now. Not with everything going on.
Nicole and David watch Alannah whilst I get in the shower. Once I get out I blow dry and straighten my hair.
Today I put on black jeans and an orange jumper with a pumpkin on the front off it. I wore a tiny bit of makeup which I applied before getting Alannah ready.
I took her into the bathroom where I brushed her teeth and cleaned her face. Once that was done I put her in Black leggings and a top. I brush her hair and put it into a bun before we head back downstairs.
We go into the living room before Nicole escorts us to the kitchen. Today were going to be making halloween snacks.
"Should we make cupcakes first?" Nicole asks and Alannah nods.
We made some chocolate cupcakes and decorated them like spiders. They looked pretty cool.
After that we dipped strawberries in white chocolate and used chocolate chips to make it look like a ghost. We then also made pumpkin cake pops and then made some chocolate chip cookies with googly eyes in them.
Nicole has always done this every year at Halloween time.
We were in the kitchen all afternoon baking treats. It got to 4:30 and I took Alannah upstairs to get ready whilst Nicole got dinner ready.
"Alannah before we get ready I have to ask you something." I say and she nods and looks up at me.
"What's wrong your not really talking to me or anyone?" I ask and she sighs.
"You got rid of my friends and I want to see them. I love you I do but without James it's just us. There's not much to do when it's just is." She says and I try to hide the fact that, that was a punch in the gut.
"I know and I'm sorry but I'm still upset and Jax got in the way with all of that." I say and she furrows her eyebrows.
"Why?" She asks and I sigh.
"He rang me so I left you on your own to answer his call. You wouldn't have a fractured rib if I didn't answer his call." I say sighing.
"You can't blame him, no one knew what would happen." She says and I laugh.
"Did James tell you to say this?" I ask laughing and she shakes her head.
"You seemed happier with Jax around." She says and I shrug again.
"Fix it." She says and I nod.
I get Alannah dressed into her costume. She was just wearing the dress right now but she still looked cool. I sit her down and do her eyebrows first. Shes only three so I'm not doing like a full face of makeup. I do some eyeshadow and I tiny bit of mascara. When it came to lipstick she pouted making me laugh. I put on some red lipstick then she kisses my cheek making me laugh.
When we get downstairs both Nicole and David compliment how amazing Alannah looks.
"Where are you going?" David asks. "Probably around the block and the next one." I say and David nods.
"What films shall we watch when you come back?" Nicole asks.
"Hotel" Alannah says excitedly and I smile and nod. She means hotel Transylvania.
"I saw the treats you guys made today, they look amazing." David smiles.
"They're gonna be yummy in my tummy" Alannah says making us all laugh.
"Only if you eat your dinner though." I say and she nods.
"I love the mark you have on your cheek." Nicole says to me. I smile knowing it was Alannah's lipstick.
"I did it" Alannah says standing on her chair and hugging me.
"Do we all get one?" David asks and Alannah nods.
I help her off her chair as she walks round the table kissing David and Nicole's cheek.
"Yay" Nicole says and Alannah sits in her seat and giggles and claps her hand.
After dinner I help Nicole with the dishes before taking Alannah back to our room.
I put a pearl necklace on her and a fur jacket. I then put her red gloves on before putting her wig on. I then re applied some of her lipstick before we head back downstairs.
"Now you really do look amazing." Nicole says hugging her.
Alannah does a little twirl making us all laugh.
"Do I look scary?" She asks.
"You look mean" David says and she smiles.
"Let me take some photos to send to James." I say to her. She puts her hand on her hip for one and pouts for another.
"Amazing." I say and she giggles.
The doorbell rang as we were about to head out. I steal a bag of skittles as Nicole takes them to the door for the trick or treaters.
"Are you ready?" I ask Alannah and she nods.
Just as we were about to head out my phone started to ring.
"Hi." I say when James face pops up on the screen.
"Happy Halloween." He says and I smile.
"Let me see Alannah I want to see how cool she looks." He says. I turn the camera around and show Alannah.
She does a little twirl and James claps his hands
"You look amazing." Be says and she smiles widely.
"James we need to go and get candy." Alannah says and he laughs.
"Sorry sorry." He says and I laugh.
"How are you guys today?" He asks and I smile.
"We're okay James you don't need to worry." I say and he smiles.
"Alright well I'll call you tomorrow." He says and I smile.
When the phone call ends I ask Alannah if she was ready.
Once she nods I take her hand and we say goodbye to Nicole and David. We leave and then head around the neighbourhood for a while.

"You've got lots of candy" I say as we head back to Nicole and David's.
"Yes now I get to watch hotel as well." She says and I smile. I'm so glad she's back talking in sentences
"I wish James was here." She says and I nod.
"Me too but we'll see him soon." I say and she smiles and nods.
We walk up the few steps to their house when someone shouts my name.
"Jax!" Alannah screams and runs towards him.
"Careful!" I shout as she hugs him tightly.
She pulls away and starts crying.
"I'm sorry did I hurt you?" He asks as I pick Alannah up.
"Its okay." I say stroking her hair.
The front door opens but Jax's eyes don't leave mine.
"How was--- oh..." I hear Nicole say from behind me.
"Uh can you take Alannah inside and get her some medicine, I need to talk to Jax." I say turning around to see Nicole.
I walk over to her and put Alannah in her arms and kiss her cheek before Nicole goes in closing the door.
"I was gonna call you." I say sitting down on one of the steps.
"Well you didn't." He says and I sigh.
"I know." I say and look up.
"What was that about?" He asks.
"She has a fractured rib." I say and he nods.
"Did uh your--"
"Yeah" I say cutting him off.
We were sat in an awkward silence. I don't know what Jax was doing but I was trying to find the words to apologise.
"I'm sorry" I blurt and he furrows his eyebrows.
"Why?" He asks and I sigh again.
"It wasn't your fault and I shouldn't have taken my anger out on you. It wasn't fair." I admit.
"It's okay I would of reacted the same, possibly worse if I was in that position." He says.
"I like you Lara I really do and I want to be there for you and for Alannah. I know everything and I just want to be there you know. I can't be a hundred percent committed to Alannah because yes I do have a job and I want to be committed to you as well." He says and I sigh.
His hand connects to my face making me look at him instead of up at the sky.
"Did you know Alannah has hardly spoke to me these past couple of days because she missed her friends?" I ask and he raises and eyebrow.
"I didn't know she had friends." He says I let out a laugh before rolling my eyes.
"I'm on about you and Gio, idiot." I say pushing his shoulder playfully.
"Oh." He says laughing.
"So why did you come here?" I ask and he sighs.
"You weren't taking any of my calls and well I was on my way home from work when I saw your car. I just wanted to talk to you and check your actually okay." He says and I smile.
"Alannah and I had a talk earlier so I was definitely going to call you later." I say and he laughs.
"I missed you." I say and his smile grows widely.
"I missed you too." He says and I smile.
He leans down and puts his hand on my cheek before he leans in and kisses me.
Once we pull away I put my head on his shoulder and he puts his arm around me.
"Lara we are putting the film on in a minute." Nicole says and I turn around. I stand up and then so does Jax.
"You're more than welcome to join us Jax." Nicole says.
"Please!" Alannah shouts and runs over to us.
He turns to me and I just nod letting him know he can if he wants.
"Okay." Be says and Alannah claps her hands before dragging him in.
I help Nicole bring the snacks into the living room.
"Woah did you guys make these?" Jax asks looking at them.
"Yeah." Alannah says.
"They look amazing." He says and she smiles.
I sat next to Jax and Alannah was sat on his lap. Nicole then puts hotel transylvania on and switches the lights off. Jax puts his arm around me and pulls me closer into his side.
About half way into the film Alannah had fallen asleep. But thankfully for me Nicole had gotten her into her pyjamas and taken her makeup off whilst I was talking to Jax.
"I'm going to head off but I'll help you take Alannah to bed." Jax says and I smile.
Jax leads up the stairs to my room where he places Alannah on the bed. I kiss her cheek and then turn to Jax.
"Thank you." I say and he smiles.
"You're most very welcome." He says and I smile.
"Come on I'll walk you to your car." I say and he smiles.
"Night Jax" Nicole says waving as we walk out the door.
"Goodnight." He says smiling.
I step outside shutting the door behind me.
"It was nice to see you tonight." I say and he smiles.
"Well I'm glad I stopped by." He smiles.
He leans down and kisses me which makes my smile widen before he heads to his car.
I wave him goodbye as he makes his way up the street.
I walk back into the house and Nicole and David were stood there.
"So are you guys back together?" Nicole asks and I roll my eyes playfully.
"We were never dating." I say and she puts her hand on my shoulder.
"Well you guys are really cute." She says and I laugh.
"Come on we can watch another film it's only quarter past nine." David says.
After watching another film I say Goodnight to David and Nicole.
I head to my room and then take my makeup off. Once I took my makeup off I went in to the bathroom.
I got into my pyjamas and put my hair in a messy bun before walking back in to my room. Alannah was tossing and turning so I rush over to her and wake her up immediately.
"Its okay." I say bringing her into a hug.
I cuddle her whilst she cries into my head. I move the palm of my hand up and down her back. Which makes her fall to sleep quite easily.
I put my phone on charge and switch the light out. I then get into bed beside Alannah before falling asleep.
