Jax's POV
"How was your date last night?" Gio asks whilst lifting some weights.
"It was good." I say still running on the treadmill.
"Did you ask her?" He asks and I nod.
"Just be careful, you've never been in a relationship before and Lara's a nice girl." He says and I roll my eyes.
"I'm not going to hurt her." I say and he sighs.
"That's what they all say." he mutters and I roll my eyes.
"We have that meeting in an hour so meet me at the warehouse." I say to Gio and he nods.
I head up to my room where I have a shower. Once I get out of the shower I choose out a dark grey suit with a black shirt. I get changed and then grab my phone from the nightstand.
I then decide to text Lara. I type the text and then I struggle on what to do next. I don't know if I send hearts or x's. I decide on asking Gio but I'll do it later when no ones around.
How are you supposed to text when you're in a relationship anyway?
I head downstairs and go into the dining room to get breakfast.
"Morning sweetheart." Mom says kissing my forehead as I sit at my seat.
"Morning mom." I say and she smiles.
A couple of minutes later dad joins us and kisses moms cheek before sitting down.
"What's today's meeting about?" I ask dad and he puts his glass down.
"Its about having to wait till after Thanksgiving to move on the Portuguese girl. Its basically impossible to find information on them." He says and I sigh.
I don't understand how it's so impossible. We're like the best of the best, other than Russia. Why can't any of our team find her?
"We're just going to double up security and make sure our shipments don't get attacked." He says and I nod.
After breakfast I say goodbye to mom and then grab my car keys before heading to the warehouse. I get in my car and call Gio straight away.
"Sup." He answers and I just sigh.
"I need help." I say and he then sighs himself.
"What did you do?" He asks and I sigh
"I didn't do anything." I say and he just laughs.
"Just hurry up and tell me." He says and I sigh.
"Um well basically I don't know how to text Lara." I say and Gio's laugh echoes through the phone.
"Well I know what to text her but like do I put hearts on the end or them x's or what?" I ask and he continues to laugh.
"Gio." I groan, getting frustrated that he is just laughing.
"Um well just send her an x for now and see how she responds." He says and my eyes widen on the road.
"I don't even send one to my own mother" I admit sighing.
"Fine just send her what you want." Gio says and I sigh before giving in.
"Fine but I best not look desperate." I say and he laughs.
"She's your girlfriend, you won't look desperate." He laughs before ending the call.
I get to the warehouse and park my car before picking my phone up and texting Lara.
Jax- Good morning, I'm coming over later to see you guys x
I put my phone in my pocket and head into the warehouse. I walk through the doors the same time as Gio and he barges me.
"What the fuck?" I ask and he laughs.
"Did you text her?" He asks and I roll my eyes.
"Boys let's go. Conference room." Dad says walking beside Gio's dad.
As we walk into the conference room all the men stand.
We walk to our designated seats and when dad tells us we take a seat. We sit down and everyone turns to dad straight away.
"Has anyone got anything on the Brazilian girl?" Dad asks and nobody says anything.
"I'm really struggling to understand here why this girl is like invisible." Dad says.
"Maybe she's disowned." One of the men say and dad runs a hand over his face.
Why keep her a secret?
"It doesn't make sense. By the time they're eighteen they are forced into this lifestyle. So it doesn't make sense to me." Dad says and sighs.
"Maybe it's because she's a girl." Another person says and the room fills with laughter.
"No that's not how they play over in Brazil. Marco's mother ruled before him, Although they prefer men they've also had women. So no Nick it's not because shes a woman." Dad says rolling his eyes.
"We're going to have to wait until after Thanksgiving now." He says and everyone sighs.
After dismissing everyone we hang around the warehouse for a bit.
Gio and I were stood in the gym and were watching a few of the men fighting.
"You remember when that was us?" Gio asks and I laugh.
"Yes but now we're the best of the best." I say and he rolls his eyes playfully.
"Should we go get lunch later?" Gio asks.
"We should take Lara and Alannah." I say and he nods.
"Text her and tell her." He says laughing and I roll my eyes.
"When are you going to fight boss, we haven't seen you fight in ages?" Andy asks and I laugh.
"I don't feel like embarrassing Gio today." I say laughing.
"Shut up." Gio says rolling his eyes.
Gio and I go to get a drink whilst I ring Lara.
"Hello!" Alannah shouts down the phone.
"Alannah." I say and she squeals.
"Oh, hi Jax." She says happily.
"Where's your mom?" I ask getting a bottle of water from the fridge and throwing it at Gio before taking one for myself.
"She's on the phone to James in his room." She tells me.
Huh?
"But your on your moms phone." I say and she giggles.
"Shes on the phone that sits in the foyer." She says and I run a hand over my face.
"Okay well can you---" I get cut off by Lara's voice.
"Who are you talking to?" Lara asks in the background.
"Jax." Alannah squeals and I laugh.
"What does he want?" She asks.
"Okay well can I talk to Jax?" Lara asks.
"Hello." Lara says into the phone.
"Hi." I say and Gio looks at me confused.
"What's up?" She asks.
"So I'm with Gio-"
"What a surprise." She says laughing.
"Well we're going out for lunch in a bit and I was wondering if you and Alannah wanted to come." I say.
"Yeah okay do you want us to meet you there?" She asks.
"We'll come and get you." I tell her.
"No we'll meet you there because I have Alannah's car seat in my car." She yawns .
"Okay then I'll text you the place and time." I say and she then says okay before exchanging goodbyes.
"Do you always pick where you guys eat?" Gio asks as I put my phone in my pocket.
"We've been on two dates but yes I do." I say and he just rolls his eyes.
"You know maybe you should let Lara pick some time." He says and I look at him confused.
"Jesus your so bad at dating." He says and I look at him confused.
"Your mom may have taught you how to treat a girl but she didn't treat you how to date and it shows." He says and I raise an eyebrow.
"You can't treat her like one of your hoes." He says and I roll my eyes.
What is he on about? I wouldn't take Gwen out, no way.
"I'm not." I say and Gio then rolls his eyes.
"Whatever dude." He says.
Once lunch time rolls around we get into my car and I turn to Gio.
"Didn't you drive here?" I ask.
"Nah dad did." He says and I reverse out of my parking spot and head to a diner, one Gio and I used to eat at all the time.
We get to the diner and go and sit in a booth beside each other.
It takes five minutes for Lara and Alannah to walk in.
Alannah spots us immediately and runs over to us leaving Lara to follow.
"Jax." She squeals and hugs me.
She then moves over to Gio as Lara gets to the table.
I stand up and kiss her cheek and she smiles at me before sitting down opposite me.
Alannah goes and sits beside Lara and begins to hug her.
We ordered lunch and well Alannah stayed hugging Lara the whole time we were here.
"Jax told me your now official." Gio says and Lara looks up from Alannah then to Gio and she smiles and nods.
"Is everything alright?" I ask and Lara nods.
"Mama is annoyed." Alannah says and I turn to Lara.
"I'm not annoyed." She says looking from Alannah to me. "I'm just tired, I didn't sleep well last night." She admits.
"Why?" I ask and before she can say anything our waitress brings us our food and Lara helps Alannah before actually eating herself.
Alannah finishes last which resulted in Lara helping her as she made a mess.
Alannah had sauce down her top and Lara was just shaking her head whilst wiping at Alannah's top with a napkin.
"You're so messy." Lara says making Alannah laugh.
"How did you get sauce in your hair?" Lara asks and then moves Alannah's hair so it's out of her face.
"What are you guys doing today?" I ask and Alannah hugs Lara.
"I wanted to go to the park but its raining so we can't." Alannah says and sighs and I smile sympathetically at her.
"How's work?" Lara asks and I turn to Gio and Gio just shrugs.
"Its boring." Gio says and Lara laughs.
"Its not boring it's just something keeps going wrong." I say and she looks between us both and nods.
We sat in the cafe for ages talking and Alannah had fallen asleep on Lara's shoulder.
"Do you want me to carry her to your car?" I offer to Lara.
"Its fine honestly I can handle her." She says but I then just pick Alannah up and head out to the cars, ignoring what Lara had said.
Gio and Lara were walking behind me just barging each other and laughing.
Lara unlocks her car and I put Alannah in her car seat but couldn't get how to strap her in.
"Let me show you." Lara says laughing softly. I move out of her way and just watch and learn as she straps Alannah into her car seat.
She closes the passenger door and leans against it.
"Why didn't you sleep last night?" I ask putting my arm around her and she shrugs.
"Its nothing that serious honestly." She says and I sigh and look down at her.
"You know you can tell me anything." I say and she smiles and nods.
"Thank you." She smiles.
"So how long till James comes home?" Gio asks and the smile on Lara's face grows.
Both Lara and Alannah are counting the days till James returns. They're both really excited
"Fifteen." She says clearly excited. I smile and hug her from the side.
"What are you doing when he's back?" Gio asks. She shrugs and smiles.
"Alannah is planning it all." She says and Gio laughs.
"What are you guys doing for Thanksgiving?" She asks putting her head on my shoulder.
"We're celebrating it with Jax's family in the Hamptons." Gio says and she looks up at me.
"I didn't know you had family in the Hamptons." She says and I shrug.
"They're boring I see them once like every two years." I say and she nods.
"Well." She says standing up fully.
"I'm going to head home so Alannah is not too uncomfortable." She says and I smile and nod.
"Thank you for lunch." She says smiling and I smile even wider.
The thing about Lara's smile is that it's so contagious. She has the most beautiful smile and she looks so much more beautiful when she smiles.
"I'll walk you to your door, Gio get in my car." I say and he rolls his eyes before getting in the car.
I walk Lara round to her side of the car and she looks up to me.
"Have fun at work." he says and I roll my eyes playfully.
"Yeah doubt I will." I say and she laughs. I lean down and kiss her before opening the car door for her.
"I'll see you later." I say and she leans up and kisses my cheek before getting in the car.
I wave as she drives away before getting into my car.
"Took your sweet ass time." Gio says and I roll my eyes.
