Lara's pov
I wake up to my alarm ringing. I quickly switch it off and realise I've had about 2 hours sleep. I sit up and decide to leave Alannah asleep.
Today is Thanksgiving so that means Nicole and David aren't working.
I stand up and head through the bathroom to James room to see if he was awake.
There was no surprise when I saw he was still asleep.
I get back into bed and text Jax a good morning text before scrolling through my phone for a bit.
At about 9am someome knocks on my door. "Yeah." I say loud enough for them to hear.
"Breakfast is done." Nicole says.
"Okay thank you." I say and she smiles. I then wake Alannah up and we head downstairs.
"Manha!" Alannah exclaims when we walk into the dinning room.
She sits beside me and a few minutes later James walks into the dinning room yawning.
"Morning." Nicole says and he smiles and sits down with us.
We make small talk at breakfast and then David tells us him and Nicole are going to get Grandma Dee.
Once they leave we head up to my room. I make the bed quickly and we all sit on the bed.
"I'm going to get ready quickly." I say leaving James and Alannah on my bed.
I have a quick shower. Once I get out of the shower I get dressed into a cute green dress with white polka dots. Once I'm dressed I take my hair out of its messy bun and head into my room.
James then goes to get ready and I straighten my hair.
I finish straightening my hair and do my makeup. Whilst I do my makeup James gets Alannah clean.
Once I finish my makeup I brush my hair one more time.
I go to the wardrobe and take out Alannah's new dress.
Nicole took her shopping on the weekend so she could show her what she wants for Christmas. She also got Alannah a new dress for today. I pair it with some tights and then help her get dressed.
Once she's dressed I brush her hair and kiss her cheek.
She grabs the stuffed animal Jax won for her at the fair last week and we head downstairs with James.
When we get downstairs David walks in the door with Grandma Dee and Nicole behind him. "Theres my favourite grandson." She says and hugs James.
"Hi grandma." He says and she smiles. Once she pulls away and kisses his cheek Alannah goes and hugs her.
David's family will be arriving around 3pm today. David has two brothers. One of his brothers has three girls whereas the other one has a boy and a girl.
I offer to help Nicole multiple times but she declines and tells me to chill in the living room.
James and David are watching the football and Grandma Dee was helping Nicole in the kitchen.
"Where's Alannah?" I ask looking around the living room.
"She was just here on your phone." James says sitting up and looking around.
I walk out of the living room and look around before going to my room where I finally find Alannah on the phone to Jax.
"Mama Jax rang to say Happy Thanksgiving!" Alannah says.
"Oh that's kind." I say lying beside her on the bed.
"Hi." I say looking at Jax on facetime.
"Hey." He says smiling.
"How's your day going?" I ask and he scratches the back of his neck.
"Its uh going." He says and I look at him confused. He and Gio argued with his moms family yesterday, he didn't tell me why just that they did.
He just wants to come home now.
"Your doing so well, I'm sure your moms really proud." I tell him.
"I'm tired." Alannah moans.
"Say goodbye to Jax and you can have a nap." I say and she nods.
We say goodbye to Jax and I get Alannah into the freshly made bed.
I lie her down and then tuck her in. I kiss her forehead and she snuggles into the blanket.
It took about three minutes for her to fall asleep.
"Did you find her?" James asks as I walk downstairs.
"Yeah I just put her down for a nap." I tell him and he nods.
"Alright well my uncle Tom and auntie Jen will be here in about ten minutes." He says
"With Mason and Eva." I say finishing his sentence for him.
"Is Mason still as cocky?" I ask and he shrugs.
"Probably." He says as we collapse on the sofa at the same time.
When the door bell rings I roll my eyes.
David goes to answer the door and James laughs before dragging me up.
We walk to the foyer and greet them quickly.
"Save me." I whisper in Eva's ear as I pull away from the hug and Mason walks over and hugs me.
I can hear Eva laughing until James just coughs awkwardly.
"Are you two together yet?" He asks looking between me and James.
"No." I say rolling my eyes.
"Well does this mean you'll finally go out with me?" He asks and I scoff.
"No." I say and he sighs.
"You look hotter, are you sure you don't want to go out with me." He says and I roll my eyes again.
"I don't think her boyfriend would be too happy about that." James says and he looks at me shocked.
"I bet he's not hotter then me." He says flexing his bicep and I look at James and gag.
I sit in the living room between Eva and James.
We went to school with Eva, shes the same age as us. Whereas Mason is a year older.
We didn't hang around with Eva too much as she had her own group of friends but we still spoke and had a few classes together.
The doorbell rings for the second time and David gets up to answer again.
This is where all the noise is about to come from. James's uncle Oliver, his wife Amelia and their three little girls. They're all older then Alannah unfortunately but are still quite young. Hannah is their oldest and she is 15, the middle child is Millie and she is 12 and their youngest is Emily who is 10. Millie and Emily are always arguing over something petty so that is where the noise will come from.
Apart from me, Nicole and now Grandma Dee Hannah is the only other girl Alannah likes.
Alannah has always cried when the others try to play with her. We stay in the living room for them to come in and then greet them.
After about twenty minutes I head upstairs to wake Alannah up as she has been asleep for almost an hour.
I go up to my room and gently wake up. She wakes up and yawns before hugging me.
"Come on everyone's here." I say and she yawns again.
I pick her up and she puts her head on my shoulder and we head downstairs.
I sit down back in my original seat next to James and he ruffles Alannahs hair causing her to moan.
Once Alannah finally wakes up properly I turn her body towards Hannah who's sat on the other sofa.
"Hannah's over there." I whisper and she looks up. Hannah then opens her arms for Alannah to go over to her.
Alannah jumps up and runs over to her.
Once dinner was done we all head into the dinning room.
Alannah sits beside me and Hannah, James sits on the other side of me.
The table was extended so that there was 7 people on each side and then David was sat at the top of the table.
We say a quick prayer and talk about a few things we're grateful for before eating.
After dinner James rushed into the living room to watch the football. It didn't take long for Mason to follow in behind him.
Alannah took Hannah into the living room to play with some of her toys.
I sit at the island beside Grandma Dee who is complaining about eating too much.
Nicole and her sister in law's are cleaning and packing away the dishes. They're also packing away the spare food into the fridge.
"I think im going to explode." Grandma Dee says taking a sip of her vodka.
"That vodka and coke isn't going to be helping you." Amelia says.
Amelia is a doctor along with Oliver, it's how they met according to James. Amelia is also Grandma Dee's doctor so Amelia is always taking care of Grandma Dee.
"How's Hannah enjoying high school?" Nicole asks Amelia.
"Yeah shes enjoying it from what I can tell." She says smiling.
"James looks like he's getting more muscular." Amelia says and Nicole nods.
"Yeah he loves football, anything to stay playing." She says.
"I don't want my babies to go away to college." Amelia says and Jen laughs.
"It gets easier after the first one goes." She says.
"It's still pretty hard for me because James is my only child." Nicole says.
"They're acting as if the worlds going to fall apart." Grandma Dee says looking at her daughter in laws and I just laugh.
We move into the living room and I sit beside James on the arm of the chair. He puts his head on my shoulder as he watches the football.
"Are you guys dating yet?" Oliver says taking a sip of whatever he was drinking.
"No." James and I say in sync. What is wrong with everyone? Why the hell would I ever date James? He's my best friend and I don't look at him like that ever.
"Mama is dating Jax." Alannah says running over to me. I pick her up and she sits in my lap.
"Who's Jax?" Mason asks and I roll my eyes discretely.
"He lives in the massive gated house down the road." James says and they all look at me shocked.
"Wait isn't he one of your dads client's?" Tom asks.
"He hasn't done anything bad its just a safety precaution if anything happens to his business." David says.
"Let's see a photo." Jen says and Alannah opens my phone to get a photo of him and runs over to her.
"That's me and that's Jax." Alannah says showing Jen.
"Woah, he is a hottie." Jen says fanning her face with her hands and I cringe slightly.
My phone gets passed around so everyone can see what he looks like.
"He looks like he could break you in half with his bare hands." Eva says to Mason.
"Pfft no." He says and we all laugh as he hands me back my phone.
My phone begins to ring and it was a facetime call from Jax and I quickly go into the kitchen to answer.
"Hey." I say sitting at the island.
"I wanted to see if Alannah has gone to bed yet, I wanted to say Goodnight." He says.
"Wait what's the time?" I ask.
"Eight-thirthy." Be says and I gasp.
"She's uh still awake, I'll facetime you when she goes to bed. If your not doing anything." I say and he smiles.
"Anything to get away from these monsters." He says and I laugh.
"Alright well I'll facetime you in a bit." I say and he nods. I end the call and go back into the living room.
Alannah was in Hannah's lap whilst Hannah braided her hair.
"You alright?" James asks as I sit back down.
I nod and he smiles at me. Emily and millie were sat with Amelia inbetween them. David was sat in his seat that he always sits in with Nicole on the arm. They were holding hands whilst watching the film.
Jen and Tom were sat further down on this sofa with Eva next to them and James next to her. I was sat on the arm of the chair and Mason stood leaning on the wall texting on his phone.
When I notice Alannah falling asleep in Hannah's arms I go over pick her up.
"Say good night." I say and she waves before placing her head in my neck.
Everyone says a faint goodbye to Alannah before I head upstairs.
"Do I get to talk to Jax tonight?" She mumbled into my neck.
"Yes, bub." I say.
We get into our room and I get her into some pyjamas and then brush her teeth. She's too tired to have a bath tonight and it would be cruel to make her have a bath tonight.
She lies in bed and facetimes Jax. Whilst she was talking to Jax I switch the lamp on and then the main light off.
"Alannah." I hear Jax call and I turn around.
She had completely fallen to sleep. I remove my phone from her hand.
"She's asleep." I whisper and he chuckles.
"Atleast I got to talk to her before she went to sleep." He says and I nod.
"I don't want to talk too much now because we won't have much to talk about later." I pout and he smiles.
"You know we will be able to talk all night either way." He says and I laugh. True. Very true.
"Are you socialising with your family?" I question and he laughs.
"I'm socialising with Gio around my family." He tells me and I playfully shake my head.
I then begin to yawn and he laughs.
"I'll be home as quick as I can so you can get some sleep, it's only another night after tonight." He says and I nod. I'm so ready.
"Do you think it's bad that I rely on you to sleep and all that when were only a month into our relationship?" I ask.
"No I think its cute." He tells me and I laugh as quietly as possible.
"I don't know what it means but I just know that I only get sleep when I'm beside you." He says and I smile.
"Go and finish up your evening with the Miller's and I'll talk to you later." He says and I smile.
"Okay." I say and he smiles before ending the call.
I head downstairs and Oliver was carrying Emily while she was asleep.
"We're going now, it was nice to see you again Lara." Amelia says and hugs me.
"You too." I say and she squeezes my arm before pulling away. I hug Millie and then Hannah.
"Thank you for spending the day with Alannah." I say and she smiles.
"Its no problem I enjoyed it, shes so cute." She says and I smile.
"I might have to consider you as a babysitter." I say and she nods.
"Yeah I don't mind, just text me." She says and I smile.
I say a quick goodbye to Oliver as he was holding Emily and watch as they head out the door.
I sit on the sofa beside Mason and he puts his arm around me.
I shrug it off and continue watching what was on the tv. It was about half an hour later when they decided to go home.
I hug them all goodbye and wave as they walk out of the door. Once they leave Grandma Dee says goodnight and heads up to bed.
It was 11:30 so Nicole and David followed behind her.
I lie on the sofa and put my feet on James as he flicks through netflix trying to find a film to watch.
When the film finishes we head up to our bedrooms. I get ready for bed and the facetime Jax.
