3rd person's POV
Trigger warning-rape
When the morning had came Lara woke up in a warm bed safe, in Carter's arms.
Whereas Alannah had hardly slept and wouldn't stop crying. She was hurt. She was waiting for someone to come and save her like in the beauty and the beast. They came to save her although it was too late. They still came to save Belle.
Lara got out of bed and went to have a shower to get clean and freshened up.
But Alannah, she was still crying on the freezing cold floor with little to no clothes on.
It was always so warm in Brazil, it made no sense to her. She was dirty. She was covered in dirt, blood, bruises. She smelt awful and would do anything to be in her moms arms as she told her it was okay.
Lara was dressed in her new formal wear which made her excited to finally be helping. She cheerfully walked down the stairs being careful of her heels.
She headed into the dinning room where she met up with everyone else and head breakfast. She wasn't too hungry, she hadn't been all too hungry since Alannah was kidnapped all because the worry was constantly consuming her.
She just had some fruit and coffee but it filled her up.
Whilst Alannah's stomach couldn't stop growing. All she could think about was all the pancakes and cookies she would get once she got out of here. Which obviously made her hunger even worse.
Her thoughts whilst she was stuck was about her mom. She couldn't stop thinking about her mom and wanting to be with her mom.
She also couldn't stop thinking about all the food she had eaten and how much she loved her food. She pretty much got whatever she wanted recently and during this time it made her so much more grateful for everything.
Alannah wasn't aware of the day, the time or whether it was day or night. All she knew was that she hadn't been fed in a while and she was starving.
The metal door swung open giving her quite a fright. The man puts the tray of food infront of her and then watches her eat it.
The man tucks her hair behind her ear but she flinched away from it.
Lara spent the majority of the day at the warehouse getting to know a few people there. She had to take her mind off of Alannah some how, this is how she had been doing it.
Jax was watching over her in admiration. She was put in a room full of the world's worst people yet she could find the good in every single one of them.
If you told a normal teenage girl about every single crime the men had committed in this room, you'd see them no where near the room. But Lara speaks to every single one of them and sees the good in them.
Talking to Lara was amazing. She could hardly ever relate to what you were saying but it's like she understood. She never wanted anyone to get hurt or to feel as they have no one. In fact she's probably encouraging people to talk to her about how they feel right now.
Lara does not deserve this world and Jax knew that, hell everyone knew that.
Jax did her wrong yet she still asked Gio if he was okay. She still made sure he knew she loved him then. She may never trust him again but as long as he knows shes always there for him, that's all he needed to know.
He knew he wasn't a good person, theres not even the slightest chance of him being a good person. But Lara seems to bring out the best in him.
Since that day they first met. He was automatically drawn to her and yet here they are ten months later and he is still so obsessed with her. Her hair, her smile, her smell. Everything about her drew him towards her, he was sort of addicted. He didn't want to admit it but he still loves her and would do anything for her to be his.
"They love her." Carter says to the three of them.
"She's s amazing with them, god how does she do that?" Matteo asks curiously as they watch over the brunette girl laughing with another man.
"She has a good and pure heart." Jax says and Carter nods whilst watching her. "She shouldn't be involved in this lifestyle Carter." Jax tells him and Carter knew deep down that this was wrong for her. But he was being selfish.
"I know." Carter says sighing.
"Guys stop watching, you're freaking people out. I'm sure you have more important business to attend to." Lara says and they all look between each other.
"Not really." They say in sync making her laugh.
"Gio I'm giving you the day off." Lara says which makes them all confused.
"You don't have the power to do that." Jax says but Lara 'shushes' him.
"Amara was sad last night. She's your girlfriend go spend the day with her. Carter drive him back then get back to work." Lara says and Carter raises his eyebrows.
"Thank you." She says smiling then they both leave.
"You two go do some work." Lara says trying to turn them around. She sighs once she fails and heads towards the smaller meeting room.
"You know Miss Fernandez. Gio is my right hand, you can't dismiss him." Jax says following behind her.
"And what are you going to do about it?" She asks stopping in her tracks and looking up at him.
"Jesus christ Lara stop looking at me like that." He says making her smirk before walking towards the meeting room.
"She's so awesome." Matteo says once Jax was by his side again.
"Yes she is." Jax agrees with him and he smiles.
"When you described Lara to us you described this shy petite little girl. Now I'm really confused." Matteo says recalling the day before their flight to Brazil.
"I don't know what happened to her. She's become so much more confident it's kind of turning me on." Jax admits and Matteo laughs.
By the time night had fallen again they were all at home again. The men had just gotten back from checking out a few things.
Lara was sat in the kitchen with some herbal tea just checking through her laptop. She kicked her uncomfortable high heels whilst taking a sip of her tea.
"Oh my god get Lara." Marco says as a video call from the Russian mobsters. Matteo runs into the kitchen grabbing Lara from the island and dragging her to the office.
"All right calm down." She says as she trys her hardest to keep up with his pace.
"Lara uh this is a warning, the Russians are video calling. Don't get overly emotional and brace yourself Carter says once they step foot into the office. She nods as they stand round the screen.
Jax, Gio and Matteo sat in front of them as the Russians don't know the Italians were helping yet. They were like a secret weapon.
"Marco." A man says as he pops up on the screen.
"Dmitri." Marco says glaring at the screen. Lara then stiffened at the sight of the russian man in front of them.
Carter puts his hand on her lower back for really that everything would be okay. This catches Jaxs eye causing him to bite the inside of his cheek.
Lara was his. He hated the fact Carter is touching her with every free second he has.
"Let's get into the basics yeah?" Dmitri says and Marco nods.
"I have Alannah here with me right now." He says and tilts the screen to show a dirty and bloodied Alannah. Lara's eyes widen.
"Mama!" Alannah shouts but she gets slapped in the face leaving Lara heart wrench.
She grabs onto Carter's wrist that's still on her back and just squeezes it.
"You are not to talk unless spoken to." Dmitri says as tears run down Alannah's frightened face.
"We thought that maybe we would rip open someone's stitches today." Dmitri says.
"Feeling extra cranky? Tell me was another one of your children killed or-" Marco gets cut off by Alannah screaming out in pain.
"Watch your mouth Rodriguez." Dmitri says as Alannah cries out.
"Carter I don't think I can watch this." Lara whispers to Carter.
"Just hold on a little longer." He says and she takes deep breaths.
"I just wanted to ask who Alannah's father was. On her birth records her mother and father are not listed which is literally impossible but anyway. Lara sweetheart would you care to tell us?" He asks and Lara sighs.
"She doesn't have a father." Lara says and his eyes widen.
"Impossible." Dmitri says and I chuckle.
"He's a waste of space, nothing but a one night stand." Lara lies and he chuckles.
"Oh I know a lot about you. It's amazing how much you can get out of a person when you're literally torturing them. Now I know you're Alannah's mother and you didn't have a boyfriend for a long time. Till you fell in love. She wouldn't mention who with though, she said you don't like to talk about it because it makes you sad." Dmitri says.
"Your point is what exactly?" Lara asks making Dimitri roll his eyes.
"Don't try to get confident with me sweetheart." He says.
"What do you want?" Carter asks. "She's four, how could you be so sick?" Carter says and he rolls his eyes.
"I don't want or need anything except to watch your face as Viktor over here hurts your precious little girl. You can only imagine what he'll do to her. She is only four after all, how much do you think she'll be able to take?" Dimitri asks and
Lara squeezes Carter's wrist harder.
"For god sake Dmitri what do you want?" Dad asks banging his fists on the table.
"You guys to watch." He says spinning the camera around.
Alannah was pinned down to a tiny thin mattress. The undoing of the belt was enough for Lara. She walked away so she wasn't to be seen on the camera.
"Mom!" Alannah screams and Lara puts her hand over her mouth in shock.
"Stop!" Alannah screams out.
"I can't." Lara says then leaves the room.
As much as Jax wasn't watching the sound was enough. It didn't take long till he was walking out of that office as well. He was disgusted and angry.
It didn't take long till Alannah was knocked out from the pain, it didnt make it any better though only worse.
Not a single person dared to look at the screen, the screaming was enough for them to feel sick.
"That was quite a show." Dmitri says flipping the camera back round to himself.
"You sick bas--" the call was then ended but no one dared to say a word.
Alannah didn't wake up for the rest of the night but for days she was in pain. She was confused and upset. Her body hurt in ways a four year olds shouldn't.
"I need to check on Lara." Carter says walking out of the room and heading to Lara's room.
She was sat in a corner of her room holding one of Alannah's stuffed animals and crying.
Carter leaned down infront of her and brought her into a hug.
"We need to bring her home Carter. As soon as possible." Lara says and he nods.
"They're... they're raping her." Lara covers her mouth trying to fight down the urge to be sick.
That night everyone went to bed with an uneasy feeling. Well not everyone went to bed.
Carter was lying in his bed staring at the ceiling trying to get that god awful moment out of his head. He was also waiting for Lara to come and get into bed beside him but it didn't happen.
Lara climbed out of bed that she had tried her hardest to get into. She walked over to Alannah's room to see a figure stood in there. She turned on the light to realise it was Jax.
"You know she asked to see you, for her birthday. It was her birthday wish." She says leaning against the door frame and Jax sighs.
"Lara, I can't get that out of my mind." He says and I sigh.
"Jax I really can't talk about it." Lara says and he nods.
"I would give so much to go back to last summer, before I was apart of this life, before I knew you. I would of done it all so differently. I wouldn't necessarily be here but she'd be safe in my arms." Lara says thinking back to the fun she had last summer.
"I understand, I completely understand." Jax says sighing. He loves Alannah and today completely ruined him.
They didn't have to say anything to each other, they were both as traumatized as the other.
Jax slides down against the wall and sighs.
"We need to find her Lara." Jax says as his heart breaks.
"I know we do." She says sitting beside him.
When Lara first started dating Jax her biggest concern was that he couldn't take on another child. Alannah is a massive part of Lara's life so wanting to be with Lara you have to accept Alannah. Now as Jax is sat beside her obviously distraught, she knows Alannah doesn't just have her and that many people care for Alannah.
They sat there for the remainder of the night. They both knew how significantly the other was hurting. They didn't even realise they fell asleep in each others arms.
