A few days later.
Everything seemed to have calmed down a bit. Most nights between putting Alannah to bed and Jax coming to bed I've had calls with Carter about Brazil and how things are over there. Of course they aren't nearly as bad.
The same as most mornings I had woken up to Jax's alarm signalling he needed to go to the gym.
He leant over Alannah, who had a bad dream and came and got into bed, and kissed my forehead. He then did the same to Alannah who was still fast to sleep with her arms around me.
Whilst Jax was at the gym I decided to just stay in bed along side Alannah. When Jax had came back from the gym he got straight in the shower.
Once he was dressed he came to the foot of his bed.
"Are you coming to have breakfast with us before me and the boys go to work?" He asks and I nod.
I sit up and wake Alannah up. Jax then takes her downstairs in his arms.
After breakfast I take Alannah back up to Jax's room. I'd actually moved my stuff into here because its not like I use the other room anyway.
I had a shower and once I had come out Amara was sat giggling with Alannah.
"Hello." Amara says.
"Hi." I say walking to Jax's closet.
"I'm going shopping today and I was wondering if you wanted to come with." She says.
"I don't know if that's a good idea." I say warily making Amara pout.
"Come on mom we can get ice cream." Alannah says and between the pouting from them both I gave in.
I got dressed and did my hair and makeup as quick as I could with Amara rushing me.
I take Alannah to her room and we brush her teeth and clean her face. I then get her dressed into a pastel purple romper before we head out.
We head downstairs to meet Amara telling the guards our plans.
"You ready?" Amara asks and I nod.
"So do you want to drive?" Amara asks as I put Alannah in her car seat.
"Sure, I love driving." I say and She smiles.
I give Alannah my phone after putting YouTube on then get into the drivers seat.
"So where exactly are we going shopping?" I ask and she furrows her eyebrows.
"Let's go to Manhattan's." She says and I nod.
The mall was actually quite quiet there wasn't that many people around which I found quite odd. We went to a few stores before we went for lunch.
We were sat down in the food court eating our food when I caught eyes with a stranger. He had sort of been everywhere we had went, I just thought he was another one of Jax's guards he did sort of look Italian.
After eating our food Amara dragged us into a few more stores but it didn't really bother me as I had brought Alannah a few things.
I wasnt a massive fan off shopping but it's clear Amara was. We had walked back to the car multiple times to put multiple bags in the trunk.
We decided to head for ice cream as a little break because Alannah was now exhausted. It was about 3pm and she hadn't had a nap yet so it was sort of expected.
We get into the ice cream parlor and I order Alannah a strawberry ice cream cone then two cookie doughs flavour for me and Amara. I walk back to the table and give them their ice cream.
Alannah was sat beside me and was on the verge of falling to sleep whilst eating ice cream.
A group of dodgy men came in and I saw a family heading out. I gave Amara the car keys."blend with that family, get out. Go to the car I'll meet you there." I say and she nods picking Alannah up and rushing out.
The first thing I did was find Jax's contact and try to text him as I stood up to walk out. Then just as expected the group of men spun around with their guns out. As they did this more men came out from the back. Thankfully it was just me in the ice cream parlour now.
"Who have we got here?" Dmitri says walking from the back room to make himself visible.
"You know who I am." I say bluntly and all the men look around at each other whilst laughing.
"So where's your daughter Lara and the other girl you were with?" He asks and I look at him confused.
"I have no clue what you're on about." I say and he rolls his eyes and makes his way towards me.
"Don't lie to me Lara." He says getting very close to my face. I could feel my phone going off and just tried to ignore it as I knew it was Jax.
"Well maybe now we can get some pay back for what Jax did." Dmitri says grabbing a handful of my hair and dragging me into the back so it was away from prying eyes.
"Are you aware Jax killed your mother?" Dmitri says throwing me at a table.
He pins me down on the table whilst his men grab my arms and hold me down.
"I gave the order." I spit and he looks at me with disgust.
"I don't believe you." He says and I scoff.
"You don't have to but maybe one of your wives or children can tell you about the story. Oh wait they can't because Jax killed them." I say which made him so angry he knocked me out.

"You see Jax she has quite the tongue on her." A voice says as I start to wake up.
"I'm sure her tongue is better for something else." Another voice says and all the men start to laugh. God I feel sick.
I go to rub my eyes when I feel the pressure on my arms. I then remember exactly what had happened and start trying to pull my arms from the men that were holding me down.
"Oh would you look at that she's awake now." Dmitri voice says causing me to roll my eyes.
"Now give me one good reason why I shouldn't brutally kill Lara right here infront of you." Dmitri says and I roll my eyes yet again.
I wasn't really listening to Dmitri and Jax. I was just thinking about how im going to get out.
I turn to my left and bite the hand on my shoulder.
"What the fuck?" He shouts making everyone turn to him. Fucking hell. Couldn't of been quiet about it?
"She just bit me." He says and I shrug and roll of the table make a run out of the door when I smack into a man.
WHY????
"Looks like we've got a runner." He says dragging me through to the back room.
"Nice for you to join us Igor." Dmitri says and I roll my eyes.
"Oh so this is the famous Lara." Igor says pushing me in the middle of the room so I was now surrounded by all the men.
"What do you want Dmitri?" I hear Jax asks his tone laced with annoyance.
"Well to kill her obviously." Dmitri says making everyone laugh.
"Try me." I making the men in the room laugh harder.
"Sweetheart might I remind you that you are in fact a women." Dmitri says and that clearly lit something inside of me. I hate men.
"I am yeah." I say shrugging making everyone confused.
I elbow the man in the ribs beside me and then continue to punch him in his temple which sent him to the floor.
I turned to the man who was heading towards me and looked at him with glossy eyes.
"Now now, play nicely." I say running a hand down his face before punching him in the nose causing him to stumble backwards.
Someone grabbed the back of my neck and spun me and pushing me against the wall. They then put their arm across my throat making me cough slightly.
I look up to see Igor staring at me smugly. I hate him.
"You didn't tell me how hot she was father." Igor says and I roll my eyes.
"Maybe I'll let Igor have his fun with her, especially after that move she just pulled." Dmitri says and now I was worried.
There was a good thirty men in this room so they significantly out numbered me right now.
"Does that scare you?" Igor asks running his hand down the side and across my chest to the v shape of my top.
"Watch it." I growl trying to set my hands free.
"Tie her to the table." Igor says pushing me towards a bunch of men.
Then I had completely zoned out, my fate was pretty much settled for me right then.
Oh my god, let me die.
"Do you mind that hurts." I say to the man that was tying a rope across my stomach.
"Does it?" He asks then tightens it.
"Prick." I mutter under my breath.
"She is very pretty Jax, it would be rude to keep to yourself." I hear Igor say as he makes his way to the table.
"Stop stop stop." I hear Jax shout from the phone so it clearly wasn't that loud.
"What do you want?" I hear Jax making Dmitri laugh.
"For you to watch." He says making me roll my eyes.
Alannah. Fuck. I hope she's okay.
Igor was now standing beside my head making me roll my eyes.
"Rot in hell." I say and he laughs before cupping my cheek.
"I'm sure I will." He says then traces his hand down my stomach but stops when he gets to the button on my shorts.
He un did the button making me pull on the ropes as hard as I could. This is not happening.
No.
"Don't." I tell him and he looks around the room.
"Who's going to stop me?" He asks unbuttoning my shorts and unzipping them down.
Thankfully before anything else could happen a machine gun went off causing me to close my eyes and hope to god I could get out.
I feel the ropes around my feet loosen first and then around my stomach and then my arms. I didn't have the courage to open my eyes.
"It's okay, you're safe." Someone says but I still couldn't open my eyes. They lifted me up and from what it sounded like out of the building.
I felt the breeze hit me, which signals I was outside. I was still far to scared to open my eyes, maybe this was all fake a hallucination.
"Yeah I've got her. She's fine just scared by the looks of it. We're in the Alleyway now. Yep. Okay." I heard the man say.
What felt like forever buy was probably like twenty minutes later I heard Jax shout my name.
My eyes shot open and I quickly made my way to him. He pulled me into one of the tightest hugs I've ever been and he took a breath of relief as he did.
"Are you hurt? How badly did they hurt you?" He asks pulling back and checking over me.
"Aren't you going to formally introduce us?" A voice says from behind me.
"Wait your the guy from earlier." I say and he scoffs.
"The one that saved you from being probably scarred for the rest of your life, yes that would be me." He says and I look at him confused.
"No you were following us around the mall." I say and he scoffs.
"Aren't you glad I did." He says and I smile softly and look at the floor.
"Well Lara this is Rocco. Rocco is yet another one of my cousins who in fact is a skilled Assassin." He says and my eyes widen.
"Thank you." I say and he nods.
"Where's Alannah and Amara? Did they get home?" I ask and Jax looks at me confused.
"I followed them to where the car was parked but I then had the text from Matteo over there informing me on what was going on. So I told Amara to go home so she's probably there now." Rocco says and Jax smiles and thanks him.
We all pile into yet another suv with clearly enough room. I sat and rested my head on Jax's shoulder.
"How are you feeling?" He asks rubbing my forearm.
"I'm okay Jax I swear." I say and he nods.
"You're a bad ass, has anyone told you that?" Gio asks as he mainly focuses on the road.
"Yeah actually they have." I say and he glances at me confused though the rear mirror.
"Who?" He asks and I laugh softly.
"You." I say making him smile.
"Well you definitely are. You got out of a room with loads of men in and got out. If Igor showed up on time you would of got out of there. But you beat up two men and didn't even falter when Igor had you pinned against a wall." Gio says and I shrug.
"He knew I was scared and plus Dmitri knocked me out." I say and Jax sits up properly.
"Why did he do that? He said you provoked him." He says and I look down to my hands.
"You have to tell us." Matteo says turning to face me.
"Well he tried to get me to to be angry at Jax or something by saying that Jax killed my mom. When I told him that I knew and I was the one that gave Jax the order he didn't believe me. So then I said something and he didn't like what I said." I say shyly and they look at me confused.
"What did you say?" Matteo asks.
"I told him to ask their wives and children but then I was like 'Oh wait you can't Jax killed them' and then he knocked me out." I say and the whole car started laughing.

When we had gotten home Alannah ran into the foyer to greet me and Jax. I hold her in my arms for the what feels like forever.
"Mama. Can't. Breath." Alannah says making me pull back.
"Sorry bub." I say kissing her forehead.
"Alfred will show you to your room, then you can join us for dinner." Jax says and Rocco nods and follows Andrew.
"We have a meeting this evening." Jax says kissing my cheek and I nod.
"Alfred took the bags up to Alannah's room." Amara says and I nod.
Alannah and I head to her room.
I began to unpack a bunch of new clothes I'd brought for Alannah when Alfred came and told us it was time for dinner.
We all sat round the table in the dinning room whilst Alannah was telling Jax all about how much fun she had out today.
Jax didn't really want to stay on the subject of what happened in Manhattan today and we moved swiftly on to Gio and Amara making out where ever they can.
Jax was not happy when he brought Alannah down for breakfast a couple of days ago and they were making out in the dinning room.
For the majority of dinner Rocco didn't say much, he was very quiet. He added in a few "yeahs" every now and then buy still didn't speak much.
After dinner me and Alannah went into the garden. Alannah wanted some fresh air even though she was out all day, but I didn't mind.
Alannah had made me chase her through the flowers garden. It wasn't too dark out now considering it's still only the beginning of September.
All that I could hear was Alannah's giggles as she ran through the flower garden. The flower garden was absolutely beautiful it even had a slight maze in the middle buy it really was beautiful.
There was a range between blue and pink flowers which had been chosen by Vanessa herself.
Just before 8pm I took Alannah inside. I took her up to her room and into the bathroom where she had a bath.
When she was completely ready for bed she wouldn't go to bed because Jax hadn't come to say Goodnight. She cried when I told her as soon as I saw Jax I would send him up but she wasn't really having it.
I picked her up along with her stuffed animal and we head downstairs looking for Jax.
"Hey sorry have you seen Jax?" I ask Rocco when I see him come from the kitchen.
"Nope." He says looking between Alannah and I.
I went into the living room and looked around before walking around multiple rooms downstairs before walking to his office.
I knock on his office door which Gio then opens. "Ah Lara, never mind." He says causing Jax to look up.
"Oh shoot I forgot." He says standing up and brushing himself down.
"I'll be back." He says walking towards us and taking Alannah out of my arms.
Alannah pretty much fell asleep straight away because she had grown tired whilst we were looking for Jax.
I had a quick meeting downstairs with Jax about my trust fund. He had got them to move the account of which my money was currently in.
After that meeting was done I ran upstairs and into Jax's room to have a meeting with Carter about everything going on there. Currently, they had shipments being stole.
After the phone call I grew tired and got ready for bed.
Once I was ready for bed I went out on to the balcony and sat out there for a while whilst looking at New York.
"You okay?" A voice sounds behind me.
I turn to see Jax stood there with a loose tie and his top button un done.
"Yeah." I say turning back to look at New York.
"You're really strong you know that?" He asks and I smile softly whilst leaning my head on the hand he had placed on my shoulder.
"Come on. I bet you're exhausted." Jax says and I stand up and follow him back into his room.
I lock the balcony door and get into bed whilst waiting for Jax to come out of the bathroom.
He comes out of the bathroom and climbs into bed beside me straight away.
He moves over to spoon me. His arm rest on top of mine as he rests his head in the crook of my neck. He places a soft kiss there which makes me smile.
"Buonanotte amore mio." He says leaving me confused.
"What does that mean?" I ask but he didn't answer and the soft gentle breaths on my neck signalled he had fallen asleep.
