"Are we staying at Auntie N's tonight?" She asks.
"They have to get up early in the morning so maybe not." I say and she nods.
We sit watching doc mcstuffins before we go up to Alannah's room.
I go into her room and grab her bag. I go through her draws and pick out some pyjamas. I put them in a bag I get her some clothes for tomorrow incase I do decide to stay. I put her toothbrush, hair brush and then some hair ties in the bag before zipping it up.
I do a look over her room to see if I was missing anything but I wasn't.
Alannah and I head downstairs. I grab my phone before getting in the car. I left my house at 4:30 to get to Nicole and David's about half an hour later thanks to New York traffic.
I get out and go over to Alannah's side. As soon as I open her door the front door opened. I helped Alannah out and then she ran up the steps to Nicole who was standing waiting for us. I go to the trunk and grab Alannah's bag before walking up to them.
I hand Nicole Alannah's bag and Nicole smiles at me.
"Are you coming in?" She asks and I shake my head.
"No I need to go back and get ready." I say and just as I say that David pulls up into the drive.
"Its Jax." Alannah shouts as Jax gets out the passenger seat of the car.
Someone climbs out of the backseat of the car and I recognize him from the man that was with Jax when we first met. Alannah runs over to Jax where he then picks her up.
David and Nicole exchange looks and then I smile at Alannah and Jax.
"The traffic is crazy." David says and I sigh.
"You best get going then." Nicole says. I smile and then thank them again. I walk over to Jax whose holding Alannah still.
"Bye mama" she says and kisses me which makes me smile. I smile at Jax then look behind him to the man stood there.
"Oh Lara this is Giovanni. Gio this is Lara." He introduces.
"Call me Gio or Vanni." He says and I shake his hand.
"Well I need to go" I say looking from Gio to Jax.
"Be a good girl." I tell Alannah and she nods her head.
"I am." She says and I smile. True.
On the way home I can finally listen to normal music that people actually listen to because Alannah isn't in the car with me. I prefer to listen to music from movies like frozen in the car with her because it's more age appropriate.
When I get home I go up to my room and get dressed. I go over my hair and makeup and chose a dress to wear. The dress was fairly simple just because I don't want to be too much.
I sit on the sofa and wait until the doorbell rings. When I do hear the doorbell ring I stand up and walk over to the door.
"You look nice." Jake says and kisses my cheek.
"Thank you so do you." I say stepping out.
I close the door and lock it and we head to his car. I get to the passenger seat before climbing in.
We were going to cheesecake factory. Unfortunately there's not here so we have to drive like forty minutes to get to the closest one and then with New York traffic on top of that.
On the drive over we just spoke about what happened at Jake's work today.

When we got to cheesecake factory what got shown to a table straight away. We sit down at the table.
The waitress handed us a menu and then walked off. Jake was staring at her ass as she walked away which caused me to roll my eyes.
After deciding that I was going to have I put the menu down.
The waitress hands us our drinks and then smiles between us both.
"What can I get for you guys?" She asks.
Jake was too busy gawking so I just went ahead and ordered.
"I'll have the Fettuccini Alfredo." I say.
"With or without chicken?" She asks.
"With." I say and she nods and notes it down.
After Jake orders, I don't know what, he takes a sip of his drink before he starts talking about his work again.
"So yeah I spend pretty much all my time helping your mom and Rebecca. I've watched in on major operations even though a surgeon isn't exactly what I want to do. Although it is really fascinating." He says and I smile nodding, just trying to be polite.
We've been here for 20 minutes and all he's done is talk about his work.
The waitress brings our food but he continues to talk whilst eating.
"I'm so busy at work it makes me miss college." He says before taking a mouthful of food. Bleh. It's just not even technically a job, he works but doesn't get paid because he's volunteering.
"Must be nice though because now it's a proper experience." I say and he nods.
"Yeah not many people get to do it this early on." He says and I nod. All I can do is nod and smile. I'm bored, this is boring.
After dinner we headed for the car so we could go home, finally!
"Do you think you'll follow in your mom's footsteps." He asks. Absolutely. Not.
"No." I say and look out the window.
"I think you'd look sexy in scrubs." He says and I look at him confused. What has that got to do with anything?
"How can anybody look sexy in scrubs?" I ask.
"I'm picturing it." He says rubbing his temple in circular motions. I laugh and then lean my head against the window.
"Always such a charmer" I say rolling my eyes.
He puts his hand on my thigh. This feel's really awkward, well on my side. Fuck.
I tense up but try to play it cool, this is what happens on dates sometimes, it's okay.
When I got home I unbuckle my seatbelt and turn to him.
"Thank you for dinner I had a nice time." I say smiling. That was a lie.
He leans forward and kisses me, I didn't think much of it till his hand kept moving further up my thigh. I pulled away and moved his hand away.
I open the car door to get out when he pulls me back. He starts kissing me again but I don't kiss him back. This is disgusting.
"Kiss me back." He mutters and I roll my eyes.
"No." I say trying to push him away.
He moves down to my neck and I just slap him. I get my bag and head straight into my house.
I go in and throw my bag on the sofa.
"Typical." I sigh and go into the kitchen. I chug a glass of water before grabbing my car keys and heading to David and Nicole's.
I pull into their drive then walk up to the door. I open it and head into the living room where I could hear people talking. I go in and sit on the sofa beside Nicole and sigh.
"Oh honey, how was it?" She asks and I roll my eyes.
"Terrible." I say.
I hadn't even realised Jax and Gio we're still here until I look up from my lap. Jax was looking at me with a raised eyebrow and Gio the same.
"Where's Alannah?" I ask.
"She's asleep in your bed. Jax kept her entertained pretty much all evening." Nicole says and I nod.
"Thank you." I say to Jax and he smiles.
"Right let me get some drinks and see what's taking David so long." Nicole says and walks out of the living room, leaving me alone with Jax and Gio.
"How bad was it?" Jax asks making me look over at him.
"Absolutely terrible." I say and he raises an eyebrow.
"Care to explain?" He asks and I roll my eyes, he's quite nosey.
"Um well basically I met him like last week at a party. He was kind and a gentleman and all that." I tell them and Jax turns go Gio.
"He brought her flowers." Jax says and Gio smiles.
"Then tonight he was just different." I say.
"Did he get you flowers?" Gio asks and I shake my head signalling no.
"Get rid of his ass!" Jax says and I laugh.
"Something tells me that's not it." Gio says and I play with my thumbs.
"Don't get me wrong I'm a great listener right but he spoke about himself and his job all evening. The only time he said something about me was when he said he recons I'd look sexy in scrubs." I say sighing.
"Scrubs?" They say confused.
"He's training to be a doctor." I say and they nod.
"I'm sure you would look sexy in scrubs." Jax says and I playfully roll my eyes and laugh.
"Was that the only time he complimented you?Jax asks and I nod.
"Well I think you look beautiful." Gio says making me smile.
"Thank you" I say smiling.
"Now you can tell us about the hickey forming on your neck." Jax says harshly, his tone completely changing.
I furrow my eyebrows before attempting to look down. I pick up my phone and open the camera to look down at my neck.
"Um..." I say and Jax raises an eyebrow.
"I don't wanna talk about it." I tell them standing up. One of them grab my wrist making me turn around, it was Gio.
"He didn't like..." Gio says and I shake my head.
"No I slapped him and got out of the car before anything else could happen." I say and they take a breath of relief.
Nicole walks back into the living room and I stand up.
"Um I think I'm going to get Alannah and head home." I say standing up.
"No stay." Nicole begs, I take a deep breath.
"I didn't bring anything with me." I say.
"I'm sure James has something you can wear." She nods.
"How long has Alannah been upstairs?" I ask.
"About an hour." David says sitting down with some papers. I nod my head and sigh. Something is wrong.
"Are you alright?" Jax asks.
"I feel like somethings wrong im going to check on her." I say and as if on queue Alannah walks in crying.
I pick her and hold her tightly.
"I'll get her beaker." Nicole says and runs off.
"Mama." She cries into my shoulder as she plays with my hair.
"Its okay she's not here look we're at auntie Nicky and David's house." I say kissing her cheek.
"Look even Jax is still here." I say. That caused her to look up. Nicole comes in with her beaker and stuffed bear.
"Jax." Alannah mumbles and he smiles at her sympathetically. Shs climbs down from my lap and goes over to Jax who hugs her.
"You still haven't caught her?" Nicole whispers and I shake my head.
"I thought she didn't get them when she comes here?" David whispers.
"She doesn't get them when she's with me." I tell them and they nod.
I look over at Alannah who was sitting on Jax's lap but yet playing with Gio. Jax looked like he was deep in thought and snapped out of it when Alannah kissed his cheek. The shock on Jax's face made both me and Gio laugh.
David and Nicole were whispering about something whilst I was in awe as Gio and Jax helped calm Alannah down. It wasn't long till Alannah fell asleep. It's the first time Alannah has found comfort in someone other than me when she's had a nightmare.
"Thank you." I say to them as Alannh sleeps in Jax's arms.
"I'll take Alannah up and get out of your guys hair." I say walking over to Jax.
"I'll take her just guide me." He says.
"Goodnight." I say to everyone else in the living room. Jax then stands up and follows me up the stairs.
We go into my room and I point to the bed for Jax to put her down. He does so and I sit at the end of the bed and put the blanket on Alannah. I then kiss her forehead and turn to Jax.
"Nice room." Jax says looking round.
"It's not technically my room." I say and he smiles.
"Is she going to be okay?" Jax asks following me out of my room.
"She will be fine once I go to bed." I say and he nods.
"What was that about?" He asks and I sigh. Here we go.
"Look your Alannah's friend but we don't know anything about you so therefore I don't trust you. Until I trust you I'm not going to tell you." I say and he sighs before he smiles.
I lean on the door frame of James room just staring in at his room.
"Can I tell you something?" Jax asks from behind me waking me from my day dreaming into James room.
"Sure." I say and walk into James room looking for a top of his.
James is a football player so he easily towers my 5'4 self. I've wore James shirt before and they are extremely large on me so therefore I can get away with wearing one to bed.
Jax had been quiet the whole time I was looking for a t shirt. I open a draw and find a t-shirt. I pull it out and then turn to Jax.
"I think your beautiful." He says.
I feel the heat rush to my cheeks so I look to the floor. Damn. He probably tells a lot of girls that. I take a deep breath then look up and meet Jax's eyes.
"How many girls do you say that to?" I ask and walk out of James room.
"Ouch." Jax says and holds his hand on his heart. I laugh and then walk back over to my room.
"Goodnight Jax." I say and he smiles and kisses my cheek which catches me off guard.
"Goodnight Lara." He says.
I had completely gotten ready for bed and was just lying there staring at the ceiling. I couldn't stop smiling and my face literally hurts.
Don't get me wrong Jax is highly attractive but I guarantee he does exactly that to about a billion other women.
Alannah's stirring took my thoughts. I turn on my side and tuck a strand of hair behind her ear and immediately she had calmed down. I go to take my arm away but she cuddles my arm like she always does. With the comfort of Alannah next to me it doesnt take long for me too fall to sleep.
