Hawaii - sort of long

Luigi Mangione - Imagines837 words~5 min read

It was one of those perfect Hawaii days—the kind where the sun is warm, the breeze is just right, and everything seems to fall into place. I could feel the sand between my toes as I walked alongside Luigi, the ocean crashing beside us in a rhythmic lullaby.

"You know," Luigi said, flashing me that handsome smile, "I've always wanted to do this—just walk along the beach with you, no worries."

I smiled back, feeling my heart flutter a little. "I'm glad we're doing it. It feels like the perfect day."

We continued walking, talking about everything and nothing. The way he made me laugh without even trying, the way his hand brushed against mine every so often like it was the most natural thing in the world—it all just felt so... right.

After a while, we found a spot on the beach, laying down our towels and settling in. I could hear Luigi making some sort of joke as he flopped down next to me, the sound of the ocean filling the space between us. We relaxed there, the warmth of the sun giving us a peaceful moment of silence.

"I'm hungry," Luigi said suddenly, propping himself up on his elbows.

I grinned, nudging him lightly. "Always hungry. Let's go grab some lunch then. I know a good place."

We made our way to a cute little beachside café, the smell of fresh seafood in the air. We sat down, enjoying the casual vibes and indulging in a shared plate of poke bowls. He fed me a piece, playfully teasing me as I reached for the sauce.

"I'm stealing your food," I said, leaning in for a kiss on his cheek.

"You can have some. But only if you kiss me like that again," he said, raising an eyebrow with a smile that could melt anyone.

I rolled my eyes but couldn't help the smile that crept onto my face. "You're a little too confident sometimes."

After lunch, we decided to check out some local shops. We poked around, picking up random trinkets and laughing at quirky souvenirs. Luigi found a tiny ukulele and insisted on playing it, even though he had no idea how.

"Look at me," he said, making a funny face while strumming the strings.

I let out a small laugh. "You're such a dork," I teased, nudging him playfully.

"Hey, I'm just trying to fit in," he said with a shrug, still strumming away as I shook my head, amused by his antics.

We spent a few more hours just enjoying the day—doing everything and nothing at all. Hiking up a small trail near the beach, taking in the views of the ocean from the top of a cliff. Swimming in the crystal-clear water, laughing when we splashed each other. It was the kind of carefree day that made me forget about everything else in the world, just living in the moment with him.

Eventually, we found a little photo booth tucked inside a shop, and of course, we had to take some pictures. We squeezed into the tiny booth, the curtain falling behind us. Luigi was the first to strike a goofy pose, pulling a silly face and making me laugh instantly.

"Okay, your turn," he said, grinning.

I pouted, giving him my best "serious" face, only to have him burst out laughing at how ridiculous I looked. The flash went off, and we both laughed. The next picture, he leaned in and kissed me on the cheek, the photo booth flashing again at just the right moment.

I looked at the picture afterward, grinning at how perfect the moment was. "You really know how to make me laugh, don't you?"

He shrugged, his hand finding mine as we walked out of the booth. "Just trying to keep it fun."

We ended our day with a little yoga session on the beach—Luigi, surprisingly good at it, guiding me through a few poses. I tried to follow along, but half the time, I was laughing more than I was focusing on my balance.

"Your form is terrible," he teased, his grin wide as he held a perfect downward dog.

"Shhh, I'm trying my best!" I said, while falling out of the pose and landing on the sand. He couldn't help but laugh.

We spent the last bit of the day watching the sunset, our legs tangled up in the sand. The colors of the sky were so vibrant, it felt like the whole world was glowing.

"I don't want this day to end," I said, leaning into him as the waves rolled in.

"I don't either," he replied softly, his arm wrapped around me.

"I like hanging out with you," I whispered, my voice barely above a breath.

"I like hanging out with you too," he said, smiling at me and pulling me closer to him.

I smiled, feeling the warmth of the moment settle in my chest. It was simple, but perfect. Just us, the ocean, and the love we shared.
