SONG: 'This is what you came for' by Calvin Harris

We go fast with the game we play

Who knows why it's gotta be this way

We say nothin' more than we need

I say, "Your place", when we leave

Baby, this is what you came for

Lightning strikes every time she moves

And everybody's watchin' her

But she's lookin' at you, ooh, ooh

You, ooh, ooh, you, ooh, ooh

You, ooh, ooh, you, ooh, ooh

You, ooh, ooh

Ooh

HANNAH'S POV

Sitting in my office, I was going through the initial blueprints for the hotel that we're to start working on. Yeah, the same one that trapped me into this. Turns out it wasn't only to ambush me but is an actual project. Sure, I was looking forward to this project but not on this cost.

But anyway, what's done is done, no matter how much I want to undo this.

Get out of your misery, Hannah. Focus on your work, this is what you've always wanted to do, this is what you were born fo...

"What are you doing here?" that voice.

That anger,

THAT DARKNESS!

I looked up to confirm what isn't my suspicion. And turned out I was right about being right.

"I said, what are you doing here?"

"And you are?" I asked instead.

"What?"

"I've seen you before somewhere," if his expressions were to be put in words then they'd definitely be translated to 'has she lost her mind?'. Which I haven't btw.

"Ah right," I said with utmost seriousness yet keeping the legacy of being dramatic alive, "You're the guy I married, two weeks ago, no, three, was it? Or a whole month?" tapping my chin, I pretended as if I'm in deep thoughts.

"Turns out, you forget a thing or two like that, you know," I said smugly, without breaking out of the character.

What a performance, Hannah. You've acted so well as if you cared about him not being here.

Or maybe you do?

Keeping the most neutral and unbothered face, he didn't say anything for a minute.

"Are you done?"

Seriously, after such a performance, this is what he says?

"Because I don't have time to listen to your useless nonsense. Now, what did I tell you about not showing me that pathetic face of yours? What the fuck are you doing in my secretary's office? Better yet in this whole building" Hmm, quick question, how do I let him know that his words are hurtful without actually telling him that they affect me?

Before I could find an answer to this, the door opened and uncle Rick stepped in. I still find it hard to call him dad, though it's been more than a week since I've joined the office.

"Ah, look who do we have here, such an honor. So, how was the honeymoon, son?" his voice had no humor present in it, only pure sarcasm. Yet, the son chose not to answer but question instead.

"What is she doing here, dad?"

"Doing what she was meant to be doing throughout this month. But instead, she was stuck at home doing nothing. Is that how a man leaves his newlywed wife, Elijah? I thought we raised you better than that," he stated with utter disappointment.

"What I do with my wife is none of anyone's concern, I'll treat her however I want. I'm not answerable to anyone," he looked his father straight in the eyes, "not even to you."

"Behave yourself, Elijah. Do you even hear yourself? She's your wife, a self-sufficient human being, not an object living on your mercy."

"I don't need you to school me on marital advice. It's between us, so you better stay out of it."

Alright! One of the two things is happening, either they can't see me or they think that maybe I'm deaf. How can they talk about me in the third person when I'm clearly the main subject here?

"You," he turned towards me as if remembering my presence, "go home. Didn't I tell you that no one can know about this?"

"She won't." said his father, answering for me, "she's not only your wife but also a partner in this project."

"And don't worry," he continued, "No one knows what relation she has with you. All they know is that she's my friend's daughter who'll be assisting you while you train her. I keep my promises, son. Your wedding will not be announced until this project is completed."

"Now, as for Casey, she'll be assisting me while Hannah will act as your assistant until her training is complete."

"No, that is out of the question," said the son with complete absoluteness, "You're the one who wants her here, you can train her. I never agreed to babysit anyone." He looked at me as if in presence of a child, "Now I want her to be moved wherever you seem fit but she won't be my assistant. And while you're at it, send Casey back, we've already wasted a lot of time. "

"Son, as per the contract you're the one to train her and you know it."

"Fuck the contract," he's visibly losing patience while his father is adamant to test it, "as if already hasn't done enough damage."

Uncle Rick's phone started ringing, he looked at his phone and then at me. Now, I'm not an expert at face reading but I think he looks tense.

"We're not having any more discussion about this, Elijah. Now, I have to go out of town for some important business, I'll be back in some days." He looked at his ringing cellphone again in urgency to pick it up, "I want you guys to put everything else behind and start working as a team. Be on your best behaviors, both of you." He looked at both of us simultaneously, delivering his order loud and clear.

And before either of us could answer, he received his call and left the room, leaving us all awkward and ready to break each other's necks.

"You," he suddenly turned back to me, inflicting all his anger towards me with only his looks, "you planned this, didn't you?"

"Huh?" I planned what, a trap to trap myself?

"Despite me making it abundantly clear to you, you still went ahead and brought my father into this. I can't stand the sight of you at home so you joined my office, to be trained by me? Do you take me for a fool, Do you think I can't see what you're doing?"

"Don't you think you're giving me too much credit, like I'm an evil mastermind or something?" who does he think I am, really? "And that too, what for? Do you think I want to be here willingly? No, sir, it might come off as a shock to you but I hate you just as equally as you hate me, if not more. I don't want to be here either as much as you don't want me here. Trust me, if only there was an option to leave, I would've left a long time ago and wouldn't have spent the last whole month in that house of yours in isolation. So, please, don't even for a second, think that I want this."

Enough of his insults, I'm done with his pointless assumptions and attacks. Who does he think he is?

He kept looking at me like I'd done a sin that I spoke in front of His royal highness.

"You're a fucking liar. Do you think I'll believe a single word of that bullshit that you said? No, Ms. Hannah, you can fool my father but not me."

"Sure, let's have it your way. You want to be trained by me, you've got it." and he left. I sighed as I knew in my heart that it was not gonna be as simple as it sounds.

After that, I didn't see him the whole day or heard from him. He said he'll train me, right?

Well, I'll just have wait now. Tik tok, tik tok, tik tik tik tik...
