Jenna rushed over to the hot boiling water to turn it down slightly and to put the spaghetti in.

Jenna and Tyler planned a romantic night tonight, and Jenna was very excited.

She was already dressed in one of her flowery, yellow rompers, the one that she knew Tyler liked.

She did a bit of makeup, and brushed her hair out, and now she was cooking steak and spaghetti.

Tyler loved spaghetti, and Jenna loved steak. She also added a few surprise Brussel sprouts in there.

She messed with the steak a bit, and then went to the fridge to take out the wine.

She poured 2 cups and placed them on the table.

Tyler should be home from work in about 15 minutes, and she couldn't wait to see his face when he saw she did this for him.

Even though it wouldn't be much of a surprise due to the fact she texted him and made sure he could make it home on time. He was all for it, Saying he also needed a romantic anti-stressful night.

Jenna took the steak from the pan, and put them on the plates. She set up the table nice and sweetly.

She then sat down in her chair, the one facing where she could see the front door.

And then she just waited.

7:00 PM

He should be here any minute. She thought

7:01 PM

7:15 PM

7:30 PM

Jenna watched the door. Dissing her manners, her elbows were now leaning on the table, and her hand was holding her chin up.

She sighed quietly, and started playing with her napkin.

7:45 PM

8:00 PM

That's when she had it, and she took her wine cup and drank it. It's not like she could waste it, that wouldn't be a good thing. And Tyler hasn't made an effort to show up to his own house, so she didn't care.

She just wanted to let loose a little.

Once she finished her glass she grabbed his and began to drink it also.

She felt like crying. how could he just stand her up like that? She was really looking forward to it.

I guess he didn't really need me did he? If he's not going to show up to something so important. She thought.

But who knows, that could have been the two wine glasses talking.

She watched the front door for another 5 minutes until she came up with a little game.

She grabbed the wine bottle from the fridge and filled her glass.

For every 30 minutes passed of him not home she will take a sip of wine.

8:30 PM soon came around, and she took a sip.

9:00 PM

sip

9:30 PM

Big sip.

10:00 PM

Sip.

the glass was now finished. That was 3 glasses, and she felt tipsy.

She stood up, stumbling a little bit, and walk over to the couch to sit.

She grabbed a blanket, and tucked herself in them.

Even though she felt drunk she still felt like crying, and so that's what she did.

She cried.

How could he do this to her? She felt so empty inside, and she felt worthless. His job meant more to him than her? She thought she made it clear that she needed this, because he hasn't been home until late hours and she's usually asleep.

His excuse would probably be "oh well, I was about to leave but then I got this idea that I couldn't just forget." And she would forgive him and begin the repetitive cycle over again.

She had enough of it, so instead of confronting him about it, she decided to cry about it on the couch; drunk.

Soon she fell into a deep sleep, her tear stained cheeks raw from her rubbing the tears away, and the blanket slightly covering her face.

12:30 AM

Tyler rubs his eyes tiredly as he puts the key in the door. He slightly jiggles it before unlocking it and entering the cozy, room temperature  home.

He takes a deep breath, before hanging his coat. He looks up, and the first thing he notices is a table set up for two.

He stares at it for a second before remembering the text Jenna sent him.

"Shoot!" He whisper-yelled, and he shut the door and made his way into the kitchen.

When he entered the kitchen Jenna was no where to be found. He then ventured into the living room, and there she was. His sleeping beauty on the couch.

He let out a disappointed sigh, not at Jenna but at himself, and he squats down beside the couch to get a good look at her.

"I'm so sorry." He whispered, and he noticed her tear stained cheeks and slight frown.

He stared at her for a minute taking in every detail. The way she curled up in the blanket, and a little bunch of the blanket was tucked between her arms as if it was a to cuddle with.

Her eyes were shut, and her eyebrows were slightly furrowed, and she had a slight frown on her face.

He kissed her cheek, and pulled the blanket up over her shoulders.

He sat there for a moment, before getting up and climbing into the recliner chair beside the couch.

He pulled the lever and the legs lifted up making him feel more comfortable. He then fell asleep beside his sleeping beauty.

I didn't like this one either. I liked the concept but I didn't like the writing. UGH
