Have you ever been cheated on?

If you have you know that gnawing feeling in the back of your mind that tells you no one is going to be loyal to you. And the bad side of your mind, Blurryface, tells you that the reason the person cheated was because you weren't good enough.

I feel that.

Everyday.

You begin to not trust anyone. Not even your friends. And when people try to build a window in the high brick wall you formed over the years, they end up making it stronger.

The story starts with my boyfriend, or I guess you could've called him my Fiancé.

I was home while he was on tour. I had a job to do so I couldn't go on tour with him.

It wasn't a long tour. About 4 months.

I remember specifically me calling him one night, because we hadn't talked in a while due to his schedule and time change.

He wasn't picking up. Thought maybe it was because he was in an interview or maybe working on some sort of tour stuff that I didn't understand; still don't to this day.

So i shot him a text:

Me:

Hey, it's me. Just thinking about you and miss you. We haven't talked in a while. Call me back.

I set my phone down, giving him some time to text back. To me, receiving a text back is like waiting for water to boil. You can't sit there and watch it or it'll never do what you want.

After a while I heard my phone ding so I went over to check the contacts.

Tyler:

Who is this?

I remember feeling so confused, and feel a sinking feeling in my stomach. Like, what if he dropped his phone and got a new number and forgot mine? Or maybe he just didn't realize he deleted my contact on accident.

I wasn't sure what, but I texted back:

Me:

It's Y/N.

Tyler:

Who?

At this point I was actually getting kind of annoyed by this. He had to have been playing a prank on me right?

Me:

Your fiancée.

He didn't respond for a moment before his contact popped up on the screen showing me he was FaceTiming.

I picked up, wanting to know why the hell he tried to prank me like that.

Once I clicked accept call, the screen was dark on his end of the phone, but I could hear him moving the phone around.

"Hello?" A high feminine voice sounded into the speakers making my heart drop.

"Who are you? Where's Tyler?" I questioned nervously.

"He's in the bathroom." The girl replied plainly, not willing to show her face.

I remember dropping the phone down onto my bed and getting up to walk around a moment. I felt like crying, and my eyes were almost about to overflow when I heard Tyler's voice on the other end.

"Gosh, Debby, stop hogging the bus bathroom with your stuff. We-" and the girl hung up.

I flung myself on my bed beginning to sob uncontrollably. I should be the one hogging the bus bathroom.

After a few moments Tyler tried calling me, but I wouldn't answer.

Tyler:

it's not what it seemed. Please, call me back.

I left it on read.

Tyler:

Baby please don't let it end this way. I promise it isn't what it seems.

Tyler:

I'm sorry for what you might've saw.

Tyler:

Please

And that's the last of him that I've heard. I blocked his number, and moved out of his apartment before he even got home to confront me.

I didn't want to talk to him. And I sure as hell didn't want him trying to suck up to me.

That was the last time I saw him.

3 years later

I walked down the street turning down the familiar sidewalk up to the coffee shop like routine.

I tied my apron on, and began work.

After a few moments, a man walked in. He had a hoodie over his head and a hat on as well. I found it quite stupid to wear both, but I wasn't the person to judge.

I walked over to take his order.

"What can I get you, sir?" I asked, and he looked up, revealing the oh-so-familiar chocolate honey brown eyes that brought back painful memories.

"Y/N?" Tyler seemed shocked, so I knew he didn't intend to do any of this.

I hesitated feeling a lump form in my throat and anxiety swell up in the pit of my stomach. "Oh my god." I mumbled, and Tyler stood up determinedly, and I stepped back.

"I didn't cheat on you. I promise. That was Josh's new girlfriend. She was just messing around on my phone because I wouldn't tell her I had a girlfriend." He let out a small breath. "You have no idea how long I've been waiting to say that."

I stared at him, my eyes filled with unbelievable doubt. He shook his head and looked down.

"I'm sorry." He paused, beginning to step back. "I'm going to leave now." He advised and he walked out of the shop.

I looked around to see all the eyes on me. I sighed, beginning to think about his story.

I mean, it was believable, but I didn't understand it yet. Part of me was mad at myself for not giving him the time to explain, while the other part of me was mad at him for a reason I  didn't even know anymore.

That's when I decided I had to say sorry myself and I took off out the door and down the street.

"Wait!" I screamed after Tyler, to which he twisted himself around.

I stopped running once I caught up to him, leaning down to catch my breath. He patiently waited for me to say what I wanted.

"I'm sorry too." I gulped down my breath from running. "I didn't listen; I should've listened, and I didn't even give you a chance to try. I'm so sorry."

Tyler's face softened, and he put a sympathetic smile on his face.  "I forgive you."

Heads up: I love debby. she didn't mean to end their relationship, she was just trying to figure out who his girlfriend was. Also, I would've used a different name for Josh's potential girlfriend but I wanted the readers (you) to know that it was a mistake or at least have a hint that it was.

Moral: if you're mad at someone, and they have some sort of explanation, let them explain first before you decide whether to totally ignore them completely. Oh, also always forgive like Tyler :).

My arms were hurting while writing this...
