Chapter 14: ♔︎|𝐓𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐯𝐞

AFTER HAVING breakfast, I felt active however, the giddy feeling in my stomach was still there, making me more conscious of tonight's ball. By this time, I felt unsettled, I felt like smacking my head on the wall because I was hyperventilating just for a God-forsaken ball.

I shook all the nervous thoughts out of my head and went outside my house to inhale the fresh air that could somehow ease me and my mind. A better idea came in my mind by my wolf, 'Why not we go for a run?' The idea was very good to say no but I was contemplating whether to go or not. I did not want to face the jerk-face Lukas Dante because he seems to appear out of nowhere whenever I go into the forest.

'He is one the Royals, Bellamy. Why would he come to annoy you when he has a job to do for the masquerade ball?' My wolf said, reasoning me out. My wolf was being fair so I hurriedly changed into a comfortable outfit; I changed my night suit with some grey sweatshirt and sweatpants and paired it with some white jogging shoes.

I left the house and jogged towards the forest. I mentally calculated my run and as per my plan, I only had to run for an hour and a half before going back to the house and then to the castle for the royal makeover. I reached the forest shortly, the freshness of the forest soothed me in ways that it was hard for me to explain, being in the forest and surrounded by tall trees made me feel protected; I felt as if these trees were barriers and shields that stood firm with each other to guard me.

I stretched my arms and limbs to get rid of any sore muscle. Within seconds I shifted into my wolf form, giving full control and dominance to my wolf. I sat back and watched the show my wolf had to perform. It deeply breathed some air before it took off, my wolf ran to its full speed, determined to reach a certain point that was the waterfall.

It dodged every obstacle that came in its way; from the tiny branches to the soft-looking animals. It ran freely and reached the waterfall where it started drinking the cool water. Thank-Goddess, this time there was no-one to disrupt the peaceful moment of myself and the wolf.

After the little run, I came home to see an angry-looking Sophia pacing back and forth in my room. I glanced at the sports watch that clung to my hand and realized that I was indeed late.

I cleared my throat to make my presence felt, this was a stupid idea because as soon as I did, Sophia harshly turned her neck to my side; I feared she might break her it. Anger and irritation were taunting me in her eyes. I gave her a nervous smile and waved my hand towards her, " Hey Soph, you look very good," I said trying to change her mood but it got more critical, "You!" she exclaimed while pointing her index finger towards me.

"I've been waiting for you for so long and you decided to show up now?" She asked while showing me her watch. I couldn't help but feel liable- she was waiting for me while I was out enjoying.

"I am sorry, I lost track of time-" She cut me off, "Whatever it is, I don't want to hear it. Come one-wait you need to take a bath first, you stink," she said while pinching her nose and looking at me in distaste, I laughed and went to take a shower, "Be quick!" I heard her yell.

After the shower, Sophia gave me no time and we drove off to the castle. We straight away went in her room where I was met by four different women who smiled at me, I of course, the weird one, gave a nervous smile to them in return.

"Belle, this is Edna," she said, gesturing to a lady that looked in her early thirties. She was a tall woman with blonde hair that came to her shoulders.

I nodded my head and Sophia further proceeded to acquaint me with these unknown people. "Over here we have Helen and next to Helen we have Vicky. And this is Lara- they will do our hair and makeup. They usually do mom's, so now you know how good they're at their work."

Vicky gave a pleased smile in return, appreciating the compliment. "Helen and Edna will takeover Ma'am Sophia while Lara and I would do Miss Bellamy's."

Lara, the makeup artist, started to apply foundation on my face, followed by concealer. "Lara, I don't want a heavy look, go light on me," I told her and she nodded. I liked makeup but not too much- my skin was sensitive to it.

She applied a thick coat of mascara to highlight my eyes along with a thin liner.

I had already told Vicky not to make my eyes bold and just to keep everything minimum.

Vicky took over my hair. "Wow, is this your natural hair or did you color them?" Vicky asked, looking at me through the vanity mirror.

My hair was naturally different. They were brown from the top but when they ended, they appeared as a deep blondish color. The girls curled my hair and pinned a few artificial flowers on my it. Satisfied with my look, I gave a thumbs-up to Vicky.

Now I was asked to wear my dress- the dress that I wore was deep maroon. Verging on the color itself, It comes in at my waist with a gold belt-like pattern and flowed outward in soft waves down to the floor. It shimmered in the light, flecks of golden glitter sparkling like stars in the night sky. It was ivory chiffon, with a high neck and netted sleeves; a narrow band of transparent fabric from the neckline to the waist, and a flowy skirt with a net crinoline. The crinoline was maroon satin, with black netting underneath.

Everyone gasped when I came out of the changing room, " Oh my! Belle, you look stunning," Said Sophia with her hands covering her mouth.

I smiled at her with a blush on my cheeks. I looked at the makeup artists and they smiled in awe.

I let Lara apply the maroon lipstick which completed the makeup.

The shoes which I was going to wear were block heels. I was never a fan of high heels, so I agreed with wearing block heels. The color of the heels was also maroon and gold, now it was Sophia's time to change.

Sophia came out shortly after and she looked beautiful, my best friend was beautiful herself but looking at her in this blue dress made her look like a goddess.

Afterward, we clicked some pictures- posing with our masks. My mask was of maroon and black color with a gold lining while Sophia's mask was completely blue. After taking some pictures, Alpha Elliot and Luna Serena came along with my father, the three of them looked amazing.

Alpha and luna hugged us and complimented us. I went towards my father who had tears in his eyes as he said,"You look just like your mother."

He kissed my forehead and wiped the tear that fell.

After our little moment, we were notified by the guards that the car sent to us by the Royals have arrived and the driver was waiting.

The journey from the East to the Royals was of three hours and the ball was to start at nine in the night. The timing was good and we were also informed that at midnight we would have to take off our masks to reveal ourselves.

It was exciting but scary at the same time. All the packs were coming along with every wolf. I wonder how big the place would be for all of us to fit in.

We were told that the ball was taking place inside the Royal castle but my question was, how big is the castle?

The hype that the people created for the royals was obvious, I mean it was the first time that we all would get to see them. With each passing second, we were getting nearer to the castle. I was beyond nervous.

When we reached the castle, I gasped. The castle was so beautiful that it was hard for me to take my eyes off it.

I felt a strong pull towards it, I could sense the power, the glory that was reeking off it. And as my eyes took me to every inch of the exterior, a thought raised in my mind,

"Will I find my soul mate?"
