Bellamy Rose

I WAS GETTING more and more agitated as I had nothing to do. I was letting everything stir me so much that I started neglecting myself; I wasn't like this and I didn't want to be like this. I didn't talk much anymore, either. I gradually became more reserved-distancing myself from others, fumbling for my words. I always seemed unsure of myself.

Nothing mattered because I felt dispirited. Is this is how I was supposed to feel?

I brushed these thoughts away. I stood on my feet and walked into my wardrobe. Taking my outfits out of the closet, I walked into my bathroom.

Since it was autumn, the evenings became a little bit nippy. After having a much needed, warm shower I changed my clothes. I wore a yellow sweater and paired it with my white jeans.

Beaming at myself in the mirror, I walked out of my room and to my father. Papa was sitting in the living room, watching his favorite show.

"Papa?" I gained his attention. He looked at me and turned down the television's volume.

"Yes, pumpkin?" He said and patted the space next to him. He looked at my attire and raised his eyebrow.

"Before you complain, hear me out. I've sulked in my room for over a week, did it change anything? No. Now, it is my day. I am going out and spending the day to myself," I said and waited for his reaction.

He didn't object to my idea but he smiled at me in approval. "Of course, enjoy your time. And if possible, buy me a box of caramel glazed donuts."

Papa had a weird fetish for caramel doughnuts which I found lovable; he had a sweet tooth. Bidding my father goodbye, I walked out of my house.

I already made up my mind to first visit my all-time favorite cafe shop.

The owner of the cafe was a fifty-year-old woman who I consider as the most generous human in my life. Unlike us, she was a human who knew that beings like us breathed in the real world. Her spouse was a wolf and she was his mate.

As I walked, I saw young kids playing with each other and blowing bubbles. Their mothers were sitting under the shades as they saw their little ones enjoying under the warm radiance of the sun. I greeted the kids as they looked at me with toothy smiles and came running towards me. I embraced them all.

"Hello, how are you, little champs?" I asked while ruffling their hair.

"We've been nice, but we miss you," One of the girls said as she looked down at the ground with a somber face. I held her chin and stroked it as she looked at me.

"I missed you too my sweet, April." I kissed her forehead which made her grin.

I bid them a good-bye with a promise that we'll meet again.

I walked inside the cafe as the bell chimed and I instantly felt good. The warm aroma along with the scent of cinnamon made my stomach grumble. I looked up sheepishly to see if anybody heard my stomach growling. Gladly, no one did and I made my way to one of the seats opposite the windowpane.

"Hey Bellamy, I missed you so much, where have you been?" My friend, Lylah, who worked here as a waitstaff said. I got up from my place and hugged her.

"I miss you way more. I know I've been lost, there's so much going around. You know how the alpha family works right?" I told her. Lylah and I became friends around three years ago when this cafe was newly initiated, she was the first worker here and I was the first customer.

"Oh yes, I do. My brother called me and said that our western side had so many strikes recently and he warned me not to come at least for a while until everything is toned down," She said, grief evident in her voice.

Lylah belonged to the western side, her brother was the beta of the western alpha. She moved here because she wanted to study medicine and become her pack's veterinarian. The eastern side has always been the leading one when it came to literacy so wolves from all sides come here to study.

"I just wonder who dares to attack under the rule of the vicious King." She said, hearing about my mate, I stiffened.

"What can we say in such matters?" I shrugged trying to drift the topic. "Anyways, come sit with me."

"I would love to but I can't. I have an exam today. But we have to catch up someday ." After chattering a little bit longer, she hugged me and exited the cafe.

Shortly after she left, a waiter came to me.

"Good morning, may I know your order, please?"

"Well, I would like to have two pancakes with Nutella topping and a cheese croissant," I said. The waiter scribbled down my order on a piece of paper before going back to the kitchen.

After 20 mins of abiding patiently, I saw the waiter bring my order.

I ate my breakfast; slowly nibbling and relishing every bite. I paid for my food and exited the cafe with the chocolate shake in my hand which was given to me as a gratis drink.

I sauntered in the busy streets, I must admit, it's been a while since I've last come here. A little stall caught my eyes, it had pretty small pendants that were presented so the outsiders could come and buy.

"Hey! Can you please show me the little wolf pendant that is hung over there?" I pointed to the pendant which was hung towards the left side of the lady. She gave the pendant in my hand. I looked at it with pure amazement, it was a tiny one but it was cute. I instantly bought it along with the three other pendants.

"I love them! Thank you so much," I said to the lady as she smiled. I wore the wolf pendant on the place.

I remembered Papa had asked me to get him some caramel doughnuts. Papa had no particular choice of the doughnut shop, he loved all sorts of caramel doughnuts. I saw a shop nearby and went there to get Papa his divine goodness.

I bought extra doughnuts for myself too because I usually get hungry in the night. I paid for the doughnuts and exited the shop. The packhouse was nearby so I decided to go and pay a visit.

When I reached the packhouse, I was instantly welcomed by so many people. My heart was over the sky as I felt so happy. I loved my people so much that it was hard for me to hold back the tears.

"Hey guys, missed me?" I quipped.

"Of course silly girl, were you dead or what?" One of my friends, Noah had asked this question. Noah was a goofy guy who was the light of the whole packhouse. He had so much enthusiasm and positivism in him that his appearance automatically lightened everyone's mood.

"Oh yes, you're the only one here that wants me dead, isn't it?" I asked while faking a sad smile as I placed my hand over my heart.

"Damn right!"

I hung around with my friends for a little while. We talked about different things, time sped by quickly. The sun was already setting and I decided to head back home.

"It's almost nightfall lads, I've got to go," I said to everyone.

"Do you want a ride back home?" Grace one of my friends asked and I shook my head in denial.

As I left the packhouse. I was met with the crispy cool breezes which were rushing from all courses. My hair was flying with the wind- I instantly tittered like a child.

I was way too stressed with everything going around that I felt as if I was overlooking myself, forgetting what I truly was. The dream which I had with my mother made me realize that I was my life's superhero and I was the one who needs to fight for myself and so I was doing that.

I was outside my house as I saw a huge car parked. Did Alpha Elliot buy a new vehicle? Why didn't Sophia tell me? My best friend must've forgotten to inform me, I shook my head and went inside.

"Papa, I am home," I shouted as I made my way into my living room. When I entered the room I got fixed to my spot. I couldn't believe my eyes as I gazed at the man in front of me. For a moment I didn't even realize my jaw was wide open. He was the same man who was constantly in my head for the past nine days.

I just stare with wide-open eyes that couldn't shut; I didn't even move. I just stood there not knowing how to react. I was staring right at the man in front of me.

My heart started beating frantically, so much for the amazing day, my wolf thought. My hands were getting sweaty as I locked my eyes with the crystal blue ones. There sat on my living room's sofa in all his grandeur were my mate and the King, King Vincentius Dante with his sister. And right there, I felt the passionate pull radiating off him.
