Bellamy Rose

SOMETHING WAS very special about today's morning. There can be nothing more pleasing to the senses than the sunrise. The colors stirred in such a way that the golden rays of the sun gave a bright coloring to the clouds and grasslands, mountains, and valleys.

The birds were happily twittering in the trees while men and women along with their children were taking pleasure in their morning walks under the warm reddening beauty of the rays. After a little while, I could see young girls and boys bidding good-byes to their mothers in shining uniforms as they ran off to their schools.

"Bellamy, love! Come in here, breakfast is almost done," Papa yelled from the kitchen. I covered my ears to block the high-frequency pitch sound that was nerve-wracking. We can hear everything at a heightened pace.

"Coming Papa, just a few more minutes," I replied as I bit my tongue to avoid screaming in frustration while I watered my roses. The yelling from before hurt my eardrum a little bit.

Every morning I wake up and water my roses. I treat them like my babies. Planting is something I cherished the most while growing up. Papa used to tell me that my mother also did the same when she was alive.

My mother died when she was giving birth to me. Papa told me that I was born in one of the most critical times that the pack faced. There was a war going on and my mother whilst pregnant with me fought to save her people. My father and mother were the Alpha and Luna. So keeping the pack safe was their duty.

There were many complications and my mother who was hurt badly couldn't bear the pain. I feel guilty. I feel as if I am the reason behind her death. If it wasn't for me she would've been here with him but I know these impressions are all false. Papa never made me feel as if I'm the cause behind his wife's and the pack's luna's death.

After her death, Papa treated me and brought me up in a loving manner. Some people think I am spoilt with all the love but deep down I know how to respect my father's efforts and sacrifices for me.

From the stories, both my parents were outstanding companions and were perfect for such massive responsibilities. They made sure that our pack remained protected from any sort of conflict or natural emergencies.

However, after the death of my mother, Papa wasn't the same anymore. He was deeply hurt; he used to go and cry his heart out to the same place where she took her last breath. He soon came to realize that he wasn't capable enough to carry out his Alpha-responsibilities alone so he passed the commitment to his younger brother, Uncle Elliot.

Papa started living his life as a retired man. Mother was a significant part of his life. He felt as if the light of his life has become dim. Papa left the Eastern castle and together, he and I live in a comfortable little home that I adore.

Fresh, windy cool and crispy air started whistling like an unnoticed ghost from the huge trees which brought me back to the earth as I recalled Papa calling me in for breakfast. I wiped the dirt that was on my hands with my clothes for which Papa would scold but few habits just don't seem to go away.

As I entered the house I was met by a very delightful scent of food which made me realize how hungry I was. I could easily tell Papa made my favorite breakfast.

I couldn't wait more so I dashed in the kitchen and sat on my chair seeing the goodness of pancakes with honey topping on my plate. I couldn't wait for more to devour the scrumptious sight in front of me.

As I was ready to take a bite of this heavenly goodness, Papa lightly smacked my hand away and looked at me with narrowed eyes as he said, "Bellamy Rose Valentino! Have you forgotten your etiquette? Who's going to wash their hands before eating? Get up young lady and wash your hands or else I'll eat your breakfast right in front of you."

I opened my mouth to brawl "Papa! but I'm nineteen, I am not a kid anymore. You can no longer scare me," I replied and mimicked him while he shot me a challenging look.

My relationship with my father was very adorable. He was my father but he was more like a friend to me. Even though I am nineteen, a grown-up girl yet papa treats me like a little kid.

Papa didn't say anything instead he quickly took a piece of my pancake and put it inside his mouth using his werewolf abilities. I shot up from my chair and raised a cry before I ran in the washroom to wash my hands as I heard papa muttering, 'kids these days' while chuckling. I made a huffing sound as I knew that he would be able to hear me. Thanking the moon goddess for this amazing super-efficient hearing sense.

While eating our breakfast I decided to ask papa some questions about the pack. Even though he was no longer an Alpha still Uncle Elliot and the rest of the pack general components came to him for guidance.

One thing I loved about the East was that it gave an equal amount of liberties and regard to everyone, be it a member of the alpha community or a normal living wolf.

"Papa since I'm finally nineteen, can I go with Uncle Elliot and the rest of the un-mated wolves for a mate search?" I asked papa wishing he'd give me a favorable reply but in return, he stiffened and shifted the topic which disheartened me.

Papa was overprotective. He knew that if my mate was from another side it would mean that I would have to go and live with him and leave Papa. I know a huge part of him has not overcome mama's death and me leaving him was just as worse as me leaving this world and I completely understood him. Papa just needs more time.

"How about you spend the day with Sophia and the rest of the pack members at the pack-house today?" Papa asked trying to cheer me up and completely avoiding my question. I smiled and just simply nodded. Though, the feeling still lingered.

After my breakfast, I decided to go to the pack-house as per my Papa's recommendation. Pack-house is my favorite place to go. It's always welcoming here. There was a different aura around them; it would easily light a dark room up.

The pack-house is like a never-ending party, it's noisy and loud here, and everybody just adores their time. As I entered, I saw everyone wearing beautiful clothes with lovely smiles, the pack-house is decorated so beautifully, it almost seemed like our East castle.

Cassie looked at me with wide eyes and came running to me for a bone-crushing hug. Cassie is four years older than me. She has a round face with round eyes and beautiful golden hair. She found her mate over a year ago and since then, the two of them are inseparable. I met her when we were young, we were practically family.

"Look who finally decided to reveal herself," Grace said from behind me. I squealed as she picked me up and hugged me. For a twenty-one-year-old mom, she was very strong. Grace found her mate when she was eighteen, she has a beautiful little two-year-old son named Harry.

After greeting the rest of the pack members, we all decided to sit and have some snacks meanwhile my other two best friends came; Sophia and Dominic. Sophia is a tall redhead girl who's just two months older than me, she is the daughter of the current Alpha, who also happens to be my Uncle and Luna Serena, my aunt.

I met Dominic when I was four years old, Sophia and I were playing in a park nearby when little Dominic came and decided to push me just for his fun. Well, little Dominic didn't know that I was a hot head and so Sophia and I pushed Dominic back and well, he fell and broke a few bones.

Dominic is just one year older than us. We are stunned that he has not found a mate yet contemplating his good looks. Dominic and Sophia brought our childhood pictures, It was a reminder to me that no matter how old any of us get, we'll always be stupid little kids at heart and will stick together.

After some time, Sophia, Dominic, and I decided to go and watch a movie in the city area. We as a pack lived on the outskirts of the city. We didn't mingle much in the city with the humans but for a change, we sometimes visit the mall.

Sophia called her father to tell him to send the pack driver so that we could easily and quickly go. Our driver came shortly after the call. We reached the Mall at three-thirty pm and strolled around, doing window shopping. How time flew we didn't realize! It was only when we heard a couple talking to each other about a movie. We realized we were late.

We ran to the movie theatre and we were glad we entered on time. We were watching this unnerving movie even though we argued with Sophia to watch a different one as she gets very scared and a result of that, I forcefully have to spend the night at her place.

Now and then, in between the movie, we heard Sophia scream on top of her lungs not only irritating us but the people in front of us and behind us too. They gave Sophia a stink eye so we had to yank her out of the theatre. Fortunately, it was just six pm I requested the driver to stop at my place and get my clothes not to forget to inform papa about my night stay at Sophia's.

I packed my clothes and informed Papa to which he said, 'stay safe and sleep early.' Dominic had a dinner party with his friends so we dropped him at his place. We reached the East castle shortly and decided to talk to Aunt Serena for a while. At seven, Aunt Serena told the staff to set the table, they cooked vegetable pasta and chili chicken for dinner. The food was yummy!

After dinner, Sophia took me to her room so that I could change my clothes and relax. Then she switched on her music and we listened to songs for almost an hour. While we were at it, Aunt Serena, brought two glasses of milk for us. It was really sweet of her. Lying in bed we chatted for some time and then went off to sleep. In the middle of the night, I woke up feeling rather strange and thirsty.

I headed down towards the kitchen and saw that Uncle Elliot's office was busy with a few pack members. I checked the time and saw that it was half-past 3, I tiptoed towards the office and tried to hear with my werewolf ability. Creepy, I know.

"Alpha, he ordered every pack to have a check on the wolf army. He thinks some skeptical activities are going around."

"What do you mean? I can't just go around and doubt my wolves," Alpha Elliot argued.

"It's his order Alpha and I think, thinking contrarily might cause some problems."

I jerked when somebody touched my back. Turning around quickly, I saw Sophia, who was half asleep but still standing in front of me. I let out a sigh of relief that it was Sophia and not somebody else.

"What are you doing here, Belle?" Sophia asked in a hushed voice while rubbing her eyes.

I told her that I was thirsty and saw the lights of the office room were switched on so I got suspicious. She shook her head and said that Uncle Elliot usually have these uninformed conferences.

Understanding her point I drank a glass of water and headed upstairs and slept again.

The next morning rolled in, her mother woke us up for breakfast. After this, uncle Elliot dropped me home on his way to the pack-house. Before leaving I thanked Aunt Serena and the staff for the love and care they had showered upon me. Even though I come for a night stay every week. I just have a habit of thanking people. Like I said, few habits just don't go away.
