Vincentius Dante
THE SKY looked fiery red mixed with a hint of orange scattered about. The sun was setting giving us a beautiful view. The whole sky seemed to look in patches of different colors. It was a sight to see as the birds bid their good-byes to the sun and made their way home. I inhaled the fresh air which was blowing like a whistle. The crimson colors of the sky reflected upon the water giving a view so breathtaking. I was mesmerized by the creativity of God.
My mother informed us about Luciano's arrival which I wasn't thrilled about. Even though we've passed that malice but the scars are the same. Wounds heal but scars don't. They were a memory that was glued to the hearts and a rewind button in our brains. His arrival meant that I'd have to remember every sacrifice my wolves gave. His arrival meant danger and I don't want any danger to my kingdom.
"Brother, I don't feel good with Luciano coming here," A voice said from behind me. Hernandez stood beside me as he took a deep breath seeing the sun coming down to rest.
"It's been centuries," Lukas said as he stood beside Hernandez as he looked at me with a serious gaze that was very intense. Lukas, when gets serious, becomes firm.
"Is the grudge still deeply stamped in his heart?" Genevieve said as she stood beside me taking in the view that stood in front of us.
We four had seen what took place centuries ago. We've seen bloodshed that I think has never happened anywhere. We've seen hell leashed onto Earth. The screams of agony, pain, and torment were still in my head like a fresh sore bruise. I could still hear my wolves crying for freedom. I could still see how they were ripped apart limb by limb from their bodies.
Every scene which took place centuries ago was so deeply infested in our memory lane that we couldn't help but grieve over our losses like it had occurred yesterday. My siblings have seen far too much pain in their lives and I don't want them or my kingdom to suffer from any sort of conflict once again.
"King, your guest has arrived," One of my wolf guards notified me. I nodded and dismissed him.
"Genevieve, where's she?" I said stressing on 'she' so that my sister could get a clear cut to whom I was addressing.
"She must be with mother or in the garden," She said, I felt a wave, a yearn to protect her from Luciano. My inner wolf stirred- feeling jittery.
"Luciano," I said as I walked towards the entrance. Luciano had a tall height- just like me. He had green eyes that turned red when he was in his wolf form. He has a brown French beard that I loathe.
"My man, Vincentius," He said as he came towards me and brought me in for a masculine hug.
"It's been a long time, eh?" He said as he looked at Genevieve from head to toe. My blood was boiling. Luciano from the start had negative thinking for my sister.
I grabbed his jaw and slightly turned it so that he could see me instead of someone behind me.
He chuckled as he rubbed his jaw and gave me one of his evil grins. I knew this smile very well and what it implied.
"Aye, I couldn't wait to see you, Auntie Aurora." I turned around and saw mother coming towards us with a genuine smile and behind her, my mate.
"I missed you so much," Mother said as she embraced Luciano in a hug. His eyes couldn't help but cast over my mate who stood a little far from us. He had an evil smirk dancing on his lips. My inner wolf was clawing to gain dominance and to wipe off that sly smirk of his.
"Now I am here Auntie, and I have no intentions to go," he whispered as he stared at my mate. His eyes were holding the most usual look of mischief.
"And who's this young and beautiful lady? Never seen her here before," Luciano said as he walked towards Bellamy who looked at him with an eerie look. He grabbed her hand and kissed it.
My fist was ready and so was his face. Genevieve held my shoulders to calm me down.
"Who are you, princess?" He asked her while rubbing circles on her palm with his thumb. His grip on her hand was tightened but my mate forcefully brought her hand back.
''My mate and your Luna," I replied with a bitter voice. Luciano looked at me as his eyebrows rose with realization.
"This would be fun then," he answered, almost to himself.
I looked at Bellamy who was way too busy wiping off that kiss from her hand as she rubbed it from her dress. I felt convinced. My mate felt the same annoyance and disgust as I felt for Luciano.
My father loved Luciano more than me. My father didn't even love me. Luciano was the apple of his eye- Luciano was just like my father and our forefathers. He had the same blood of cruelty coursing through him and he still does. He enjoys making other people suffer. He enjoys them bleeding to death.
"Vincent, Your mate is indeed so beautiful. Beautiful like a rose. How sad that she's yours," He said sighing dramatically and looking at my mate who still couldn't crack the monster standing in front of her.
Growing more and more agitated, I grabbed my mate's hand and walked away furiously. My jaw was tensed and I guess, I feared I might break it with my strength. I didn't know where I was taking her but we soon found ourselves in the Royal forest.
"Vincent," she whispered. My name sounded so good from her- It was so melodious hearing my name. She looked so enticing.
"Yes, Bellamy?" I replied with the same tone of the urge as her. Her eyes widened a little bit and I could help but notice at the small blush that formed on her nose and cheek. How adorable.
I enjoyed my mate's lingering stare on me. I enjoyed her presence. I know, I was a total jerk that ignored her. But now I won't. She's blossoming the hidden feelings which I've never felt.
I recalled mine and Genevieve conversation from last night,
I looked out of my window where endless mountains stood next to each other protecting my-our kingdom. I've seen these mountains grow as I grew. And whenever I felt low, alone, I looked at them and I believe that they soothed me and still do.
A knock on the door interrupted my thoughts as Genevieve came inside. It was late at night around midnight. "You're still up? What's bugging you?" I asked as I saw the restlessness on her face that was evident.
"Bellamy," she said, my eyes widened a little bit as I thought of numerous reasons. Were they having a conflict? I feared.
"No no, she's a sweetheart but she's sad Vince. The other day, I saw her crying on the balcony. When I asked her what happened she told me that she wasn't capable of making you love her. She said that you're not the one to blame but she. She said if she was good enough, you would consider her. She aches for your affection, brother," Genevieve said as she came stood in front of me.
My heart immediately ached for my mate. She was wrong. She was the best thing that had ever happened to me and I can't be more thankful to the moon goddess.
"Gen, she's wrong. She's a blessing. Ever since she's here, I am feeling something; she's making me feel sentiments that I've never felt before," I told her as she waited patiently for me to continue.
"Her presence is suspending time and all I can see is her. She's feeding me more than any nourishment; I feel full, in content when I am surrounded by her. Every pain seems to fade away. I want her to stay by my side for the rest of the eternity and I don't want the incredible rush inside me for her to stop. When I wake up in the morning the only thing that comes in my mind subconsciously is her face," I expressed my true feelings openly in front of my sister who looked at me with pure awe.
"When I go to sleep, I wish for her presence beside me, and even if she's not right next to me and inside the door opposite to mine, I imagine her with me. She's like a soft wave that ebbs like a tide but she's also like a storm that makes me electrified to her. She's slowly becoming my weakness, my vulnerability. She speeds up my heart like never before and I think that I am slowly falling in love with her," I whispered the last part as I took a deep sigh feeling that a weight is lifted off from my heart and I could feel the peace blooming inside me.
I waited for my sister's response and grew nervous every second.
"Then tell her Vince," And with that, she walked away leaving me with my emotions all over the place.
