Vincentius Dante
ITS BEEN three days. Three days since I brought back Bellamy. She is still unconscious. The pack doctors said that her body is getting prepared and restarted. It needs rest, her body, and her mind even her wolf has endured too much. She has lost too much blood and now she's wired to goddess knows how many drips.
I sat beside her, caressing her face softly. Her left hand was in my palm as I rubbed circles from fingers.
Wake up, love. I silently prayed hoping moon goddess hears me. I closed my eyes as the familiar horrifying memory of Bellamy hit me. I couldn't get rid of her thoughts, of her bruised body. Even though I killed Luciano Infront of my eyes yet I fear that another like him will bear and harm my Bellamy.
I can't even imagine the amount of pain that she underwent. Her stitches, wounds are a reminder of my failure. Even though I've killed the bastard, technically I won but seeing her in such a distressing situation is reminding me of the failure that I am. This was the day that I dreaded, I feared the most.
If I noticed the threat lingering around the castle, my family, and over my mate, I would've never let this happen. Yes, it has happened and I guess this was written in our fate but the guilt is eating me. I might relax once I see her all fine. But she's not waking up. I keep reassuring myself that she needs time, her body needs rest but am I getting assured?
"Brother, Dorian has some information regarding the scattered infected wolves that ran away," Genevieve said but I shook my head. I didn't want to leave Bellamy alone.
"Go, I will stay with her," She insisted. Feeling helpless I got up before kissing Bellamy's forehead and made my way towards the office.
Upon reaching there, I saw Dorian, my beta, and Damien, my third in the command waiting for me. I gave a nod and sat at my seat gesturing them to speak.
"We've caught the infected wolves. They were hot on their trails and wanted to scatter. They did scatter but we found them. They are currently in the dungeon, severely beaten," Dorian said. I told them to take me to the wolves that are close to tasting their deaths.
The dungeons were the scariest place in the castle. It still haunted me. The memories of my father locking me up in here are still infested in my mind. I shivered as I walked down the familiar set of rocky stairs that led the way to the cave and then the dungeons. Huge candles were lit by the rocky staircase and inside the cave as well. There was no light bulb illuminated here, my father wanted to make the dungeons look frightening. And I guess, it remained like this.
I stood still outside one of the biggest dungeons to ever exist. The dungeon was twice as bigger as a normal basement. The infected wolves were hung upside down. There own made wolfsbane was coursing through their bodies, burning their insides. Their bodies were all badly beaten and witches were constantly casting their spells that made the wolves suffer more.
I didn't feel any sort of sympathy for the wolves. They deserved it. Not wanting to see their rotten-still-alive bodies I ordered Dorian to make their deaths slow but at the same time quicker.
"Cut down the wolfsbane and insert the silver wires onto them. Make sure the silver isn't the normal ones instead ask the witches for the new portion that they made. Those will affect the wolves much badly and quickly," I ordered. As I was ordering Genevieve mind linked me.
Come to your room quickly! She minds linked.
Why? I asked through the link.
She's up That was it. I was running hot on my legs towards my room. She was currently staying in mine as per my order. I opened the door of the room quickly and my heart skipped a beat. Without saying anything, I took long strides towards her and brought her in for a bone-crushing hug.
I felt my eyes getting wet as I finally relaxed. Bellamy sobbed loudly in the crook of my neck and I felt my heart broke. She held onto my shirts tightly as if she was too scared to withdraw back. I sat on the bed and brought Bellamy closer to me. She still held onto me.
"Hush, love. I am here," I whispered in her ears and rubbed circles on her back trying to soothe her. Genevieve walked out of the room giving us space.
"He's gone. You're safe now, my love," I said. I felt her tears on my neck. Somehow I had loosened her hold on me and made her look straight at me.
"I-i was s-so ss-cared," she whispered. I held her face in my hands and caressed it.
"I know, love. But the bad guys are gone now. They won't even think of coming near you," I told her.
"They-they stabbed me, cu-cut my skin. Aa-nd ate pp-people Infront of-of me," She hiccuped. I felt my blood boil as I heard the words coming out of her mouth.
"Listen to me. Shush, listen. They. Are. Gone. Bellamy, I am here now." I brought her in, laying her down on my chest and I soothed her. She's been in a bad trauma and I knew it would be hard for her to get back to how she was.
It took a few days to normalize Bellamy. She had been acting very carefully... hesitant in almost everything. She didn't talk much, didn't eat, didn't do anything to be more precise. All she did was weep silently. She had blocked out a certain part of her life and I understood it. The only things that I could give her in those days were time and unconditional love.
Now, I am thankful that she was getting better. That stage of her life was is still there but it is fading. Right now, I was staring like a lovesick puppy at Bellamy as she was watering and talking to her roses. I was happy about a certain fact that now all the unmated wolves will stay at a limit. I couldn't help but recall the memories of last night when I finally marked her as mine.
"You know you are the most beautiful girl that I have ever seen in my life," I told her. Her head was resting on my chest and I was slowly massaging her head.
She chuckled at my words and said, "You are only saying this because of the bond. There are more beautiful girls in the world than me. I have scars and purple bruises that aren't going away, " She whispered the last few words to herself self reminding her once again of the tragic moments of her life.
"Well, I don't care about the other girls. They may be beautiful but they can't compete with my mate, do you have any questions? If you do, then love, keep it to yourself because I won't hear anything against my mate's beauty," I joked trying to release the memories that she's holding on.
"Your mate may be beautiful, but love, she can't compete against my husband," She scoffed and I could almost see the sly smirk forming on her lips.
"Oh, really Mrs. Dante?" I teased.
"Why? You got anything to say?" She fired back. I chuckled. She was finally regaining her self back.
"Mark me. Vincent, now," she said seriously out of the blue. I froze for a second.
"Are you kidding me?" I asked thinking she might be pulling a prank, as much as I want to mark her now I don't want her to regret later.
"Do you think I am kidding?" She asked while looking up at me, directly in my eyes. I shook my head and she sat.
"Will it hurt?" She asked as the familiar look of fear shadowed her eyes.
"Love, it'll only prick for a few seconds then it'll alright, perfect," I told her while caressing her cheek. She sat up straight.
I won't directly mark her, I'll first divert attention elsewhere. "Okay, so now that you're Mrs. Dante, how do you feel?" I asked massaging the spot where my mark will be placed.
"Well, I like the part where my name is called Dante and I like that now I fully belong to a new family and that I am royal. Oh, you know the perks of being a royal," she winked. I gave her an amused look.
"And what about the fact that now you have a handsome husband?" I asked raising my eyebrow at her.
"Oh silly. Let me tell you a secret, my husband feels insecure when standing with his wife," she joked and whispered almost as if she's telling a secret to her best friend and not to her mate who happens to be her husband.
She chuckled at my look. She looked carefree and the smile that took over her face was priceless. I was swooning over how gorgeous she looked right now in her natural beauty. I kissed her forehead first and then slowly brought my canines into the spot where I was massaging.
Bellamy's eyes widened and she winced at the sudden prick. "Ow," she whispered in my ears. After a few minutes, the pricking stopped, "That hurt." She said with a frown on her face.
I brought my canines back and looked at my beautiful mark. It glowed against her skin almost as if it was waiting to be placed at the spot. She excitedly looked at me forgetting the pain that she was feeling a minute ago.
"Ooh, does it look good?" She asked. I smiled at her and said, "It looks perfect."
A beautiful smile invaded her face as her eyes started tearing up. She came closer to me and hugged me tightly before whispering the following words, "Thank you for giving me another life. I love you."
"I love you till death be our downfall."
*The End*
And just like this, the cold-hearted Lycan King found warmth in his heart because of Bellamy, who was the reason behind unlocking the curse and setting him free.
Love is power, that is for sure. Without love, nobody can feel the sensation beyond one's limits. Love freely. Love everyone, be the reason for their smiles because you never know when you become the reason for someone's happiness.
Bellamy found happiness within Vincentius, and Vincentius found peace and warmth within her mate, wife.
