Vanessa smiled with hope after she heard of Ryan’s suggestion, “Thanks, Ryan. I realized that a lot of things had changed after I came back which resulted in my anxieties, but now...”

“Thanks. I really thank you. I’m very touched.”

Ryan looked at Vanessa and was moved, “No worries. I’m happy as long as you are.” As he said that affectionately, he placed his hand onto Vanessa’s hand. However, when the hands touched, Vanessa immediately retracted her hand and stood up.

“Ryan, I have something else on. I’ll go and prepare while I wait for your news. Goodbye.” After saying these, Vanessa walked out of the café without looking back. Ryan watched in a daze as Vanessa walked away.

Vanessa, do you know that I loved you as long as you had been loving Edward?

He wrung his hands and suppressed all of his emotions. He took up his phone and instructed the other end, “Tomorrow night I need to entertain a guest at Banya Villa.”

“Yes Sir.” The old steward on the other end of the call quickly answered.

Once that was arranged, Ryan took up his phone and called another person, “The drug that you gave me previously, prepare two more packets for me.”

“Hey... bro, didn’t you say that you don’t need drugs?! With your abilities, which woman can’t you get? Why do you need the drugs? Just drive your car to court the girl!” The other party scoffed.

Ryan was already frustrated but as he thought about what he was going to set up, he became frustrated and was close to erupting. He simply yelled, “Fuck off! Just get them for me!”

Ryan ended the call and drank two cups of coffee before calming down. Then, he picked up his phone again and called Edward.

He changed his tone as soon as he spoke, “Hey, Edward, do you know that Vanessa is back?”

“Yeah.” Edward’s tone was totally cold.

“Tomorrow I have a batch of outstanding wine arriving at the Banya Villa. I’ll invite you guys to come over for some fun. Get Luke, Louis, and your wife along!” Ryan said this very casually.

However, Edward was silent and didn’t say anything for a long time.

“I’m going overseas the day after tomorrow and won’t be back for a while. So.... You must come tomorrow.”

Under normal circumstances, Edward wouldn’t attend if it was some regular event but when it came down to sending off his friend who may not be back for some time, he would attend as he cherished the relationship between friends.

“Okay.” He ended the call after agreeing.

Susan didn’t go back to work after she resigned and practically felt boundless emptiness within her. She went to the shopping mall especially to buy Edward a small gift and to broach the issue of the divorce.

Susan pondered for a while as to what gift should she get for him which was appropriate for their contract marriage. But after they were together, most of their interactions were done on the bed. Most of the actions were between taking off and putting on their clothes. So what could she give as their gifts?

Oh... underwear!

Susan pondered for a while and decided to buy seven pairs of underwear for Edward. She wished that during a period after leaving her, that he would think of her as he removed his underwear.

Susan walked into the shop and began to pick the underwear with the largest size. Soon after, Edward called her to inform her that he’ll take her to meet one of his close friends tomorrow.

“Ah? Why are we meeting your friends?” Susan looked at the underwear which she just picked and wondered if she should leave them or not.

“They wish to meet you,” Edward said simply. When Susan wanted to ask why they wanted to meet her, she heard a secretary in the background notifying Edward to attend a meeting and held back her words. She hung up the call.

Oh darn! She couldn’t mention the divorce to Edward tonight. How could they talk about the divorce tonight and then go to meet Edward’s friends tomorrow? That ruled out tomorrow as well.

Just as Susan was about to return the underwear to the sales attendant, someone familiar walked into the shop. Susan was stunned and didn’t know what came over her. She quickly ducked into the fitting room with those underwear.

When she saw that Vanessa came with another friend, all the more she felt embarrassed to go out. Vanessa was there to buy some lingerie. When Vanessa entered the shop and the attendant greeted them, Vanessa’s friend said in a very exaggerated manner, “Take out five of your sexiest lingerie!”

Susan was listening to the conversation between them and felt astonished while she broke out in goosebumps.

She wanted to see what kind of lingerie Vanessa had picked. But from her position and vantage point, she could only see the strange smile that was on their faces. She remained in the fitting room and waited for them to leave.

Susan heard Vanessa taking the lingerie and entered a fitting room beside hers. Very quickly, Queenie also followed in and when she saw Vanessa putting on the lingerie, she said loudly, “Wow! With this, I guarantee that no man would be to resist! Even I as a woman am beginning to feel horny!”

As soon as Vanessa heard it, she replied coyly, “Then I’ll take this.”

“Okay, take those that I picked as well. The styles are different and so is the seduction!”

“Okay.”

The conversation basically ended at this point. Susan heard Vanessa and Queenie paying for the lingerie and left. Susan thereafter came out of the fitting room with the men’s underwear in her hands.

She wanted to put down the underwear and leave but she seemed to think of something as she almost exited the shop. She walked back to the sales attendant and said, “I want the same lingerie as what the lady bought just now but in my size.”
