Chapter 116

Alicia vaguely recognized the man's voice, but after so many years, voices could change. She wasn't certain anymore.

Besides, back then her eyes had been injured—she hadn't been able to see a thing. She'd never actually seen the butler's face.

Tyrone glanced at the older man and gave a barely noticeable shake of his head.

The man just smiled, ignoring Alicia's question. "The young master said you love these."

Alicia blinked in surprise, looking back at Tyrone. So, she'd been overthinking it.

"Thank you, sir," she said, beaming as she accepted the strawberry pastries.

Even though he wasn't someone familiar, the warmth from a stranger was still enough to make her happy. She'd always been the kind of person who was easy to please.

"I want some too!" Nicole whined, stomping her foot as the man turned back to his little shop. "Tyrone, I want some too!"

Tyrone didn't even acknowledge her. He just took Alicia's hand and started walking. "There are other snacks over there. Want to try some? I'll get in line."

Alicia shook her head. They already had two bowls of shaved ice—there was no way they'd finish it all.

"Tyrone..." Nicole trailed after them, sulking. "Grandpa said you're supposed to stay with me! If you keep ignoring me, I'll tell Grandpa you're being mean!"

She'd started threatening him now.

But was Tyrone the kind of person to be threatened? He'd dare talk back to the old man himself; his temper was even more unpredictable than the spoiled little heiress's.

"Mr. Brown, take her home," Tyrone said, glancing at the driver and giving the order without hesitation.

The driver hesitated. "But sir... the old master said you should..."

"Take her if you want. If she gets lost, it's not my problem," Tyrone replied coldly, and then pulled Alicia through a side entrance into the mall. With astonishing ease, he found a clothing store, and in the blink of an eye, pulled Alicia into a dressing room with him, all without anyone noticing.

It was so smooth, even the store clerk didn't realize there were two people inside.

Pressed against Tyrone's chest, Alicia could hear his heartbeat, and felt her own racing in response.

She stole a glance up at him. Was he some kind of secret agent? Even sneaking around, he acted like it was nothing.

Meanwhile, Nicole spent ages searching the mall, but couldn't find them. Frustrated, she stamped her foot.

"Miss... maybe we should head back," the driver suggested helplessly, and had no choice but to take Nicole home.

"Alicia, just wait! I'm telling Maddox everything!" Nicole snarled, biting her lip before storming off.

...

Back in the fitting room, once Tyrone judged enough time had passed, he calmly led Alicia out. Without a second thought, he grabbed a couple of outfits off the rack and handed them to the sales assistant. "These ones. And this too."

The assistant was too delighted by the big sale to even be surprised about two people emerging from the fitting room. "Of course, sir, I'll wrap them up right away."

Alicia wished she could vanish into thin air, but Tyrone acted like nothing was out of the ordinary.

After paying, Tyrone stuffed the shopping bag into her arms.

Alicia stared in shock. "You bought these... for me?"

She'd thought he was just randomly buying something to cover their tracks.

"You didn't even check the sizes... What if they don't fit? That's such a waste."

"I checked. They'll fit you perfectly," Tyrone replied, searching for a quiet spot to sit. He helped her open the shaved ice dessert. "Eat while it's still cold."

"How do you even know my size?" Alicia asked, incredulous.

Tyrone glanced her up and down. "Take a guess."

Alicia instantly understood, and her cheeks flushed bright red.

Sometimes, his deadpan seriousness was infuriating.

Alicia asked quietly, taking a bite of the shaved ice. The taste stunned her—this was exactly the same flavor from years ago!

"She barged in uninvited. You think she's the one being treated unfairly?" Tyrone leaned back, watching Alicia with a calm gaze.
