Chapter 126

Alicia didn't flinch. With all these people around, Jade was being unbelievably reckless.

"Jade, this is a shopping mall—a public place," Alicia warned her, hoping she wouldn't do anything stupid.

Jade just laughed, her voice dripping with mockery. "Oh? What, are you going to call the police? Maddox sent us here to take you to the hospital.

We're going to find out if you're really pregnant."

She sounded so sure of herself, as if no matter what Alicia did, it wouldn't matter. After all, Maddox—the family patriarch, Tyrone's grandfather—was the one pulling the strings.

Alicia wasn't naive enough to think calling the police on Tyrone's grandfather would solve anything.

But the realization hit her hard. The old man was suspicious—he doubted she was pregnant. It made sense. She and Tyrone had only just gotten together; there was no way she could be expecting already. If she went to the hospital, the truth would come out.

She couldn't let that happen.

"If this is Maddox's idea, then let him call Tyrone. You have no right to drag me here and force a medical exam." Alicia pulled out her phone, ready to call Tyrone herself.

With a curt nod from Jade, a bodyguard stepped up and snatched the phone from Alicia's hand.

Alicia glared at Jade, her anger barely contained. "What you're doing is illegal."

Jade just smiled. "Don't be naive, Alicia. Are you really going to call the police on the old man?"

Alicia took a deep breath. Jade kept invoking Maddox, knowing full well she'd never dare to get him entangled in a scandal.

"Jade, what are you doing?" Melanie's voice trembled with shock. She hadn't expected Jade to go this far.

"Stay out of it, Melanie. Maddox ordered this—he's worried she's lying, trying to trap your uncle," Jade replied smoothly, trying to calm her.

She turned to the bodyguards. "Take her."

Nicole watched Alicia with a smug little smile. "If you're not pregnant, you'll have to divorce Tyrone anyway. Let's see how long you can keep up this act."

Alicia glared at the guards, taking a step back. "Touch me and you're committing a crime. You really want to go to jail for kidnapping?"

The bodyguards didn't care. They seized her, forcing her toward the exit.

Melanie looked on, stricken with guilt and fear. She slipped out her phone, trying desperately to text Tyrone for help.

But Jade was watching. She snatched Melanie's phone right out of her hand, her smile icy. "No tattling, Melanie. Not today."

Melanie stared at her in terror. She'd never seen this side of Jade before, and it made her shrink back in fear.

"Jade, you can't—you can't just take her like this!" Melanie stammered, her voice shaking with regret.

Jade ignored her, signaling the guards to keep moving.

Alicia scanned the mall, searching for any chance to break free. As they passed a luxury boutique, she suddenly lunged sideways, crashing into the shop's glass door with all her might. The door shattered, and shards of glass rained down, slicing her forehead. Blood began to trickle down her face.

Nicole and Jade both recoiled in shock, momentarily stunned by Alicia's recklessness.

"She's lost her mind!" Nicole shouted, her voice cracking.

Melanie burst into tears and rushed to Alicia's side. "Alicia!"

Boutique staff hurried out, immediately surrounding Alicia. "Ma'am, you've damaged our store. You'll have to pay for this."

With the employees crowding around, the bodyguards hesitated, suddenly wary of making a scene.

Jade stared at Alicia, speechless. "She's insane..."

Alicia wiped blood from her brow, steadying herself. "I'll pay for everything, but I don't have cash. Call my husband for me—his number is—" Her vision blurred as she tried to explain to the staff.

"No one help her!" Jade snapped. "I'll pay for the damage. Nobody lifts a finger for her!"

Alicia shot Jade a cold, defiant smile, ignoring the pain. She strode into the boutique, grabbed anything she could reach, and started hurling items to the floor. She smashed decorative displays, making as much noise as possible. "Miss, you'll need to pay for everything you break..." the shop assistant stammered.

Jade could only stare, horrified. "You really are insane!"
