Chapter 203

“It’s Alicia. I can’t believe it’s actually Alicia.” Yvonne still hadn’t calmed down, her heart racing.

“You could try finding a chance to meet her, take things slowly and carefully,” Sean suggested.

Yvonne nodded, her eyes bright. “You’re right. Help me check Alicia’s schedule over the next few days. Even if I can’t reveal myself, at least let me see her and make sure she’s safe...”

Sean smiled and nodded. “I’ll have someone look into it right away.”

Overcome with emotion, Yvonne threw herself into Sean’s arms, hugging him tightly.

Sean just shook his head, half exasperated. It was only during moments like this that Yvonne ever looked at him with such warmth.

“Didn’t you once say that if the test proved she was your niece, you’d marry me? Does that still count?” Sean teased, grinning.

Yvonne shot him a mock suspicious look. “You’re sure you didn’t mess with the results?”

Sean’s expression darkened. “Get off me. Stop clinging.”

Yvonne just clung tighter, shameless as ever. “Honey, I was wrong, okay?”

Sean stiffened, knowing full well he was utterly helpless against her. Yvonne always had a way to keep him wrapped around her finger.

He hoisted her up and tossed her onto the bed, kissing her hungrily, almost desperate.

He didn’t stop until she was breathless, then growled, “You know I’m not after some pet name. I want a real commitment.”

Yvonne, as thick-skinned as ever, had called him “husband” plenty of times when asking for favors, but never agreed to anything more official.

“Just give it a little more time. When the truth is out and I can bring her home openly, I’ll marry you then. Deal?” Yvonne tugged at Sean’s collar, her voice teasing.

Sean’s gaze darkened. “You’ve been using that excuse to string me along for over a decade...”

Yvonne just snorted, completely unapologetic. “Maybe if you weren’t so useless, it wouldn’t have taken you this long to find Nicole...”

Sean’s eyes flashed with frustration. He bit down on her shoulder, reaching for the box of condoms she’d stashed on the nightstand.

But Yvonne grabbed his hand, tossed the box aside.

“An older mom’s decided to go for it—let fate decide,” Yvonne laughed, curling her arms around his neck and pulling him in for another kiss. “But I’m warning you now, if I can’t get pregnant naturally, don’t even think about convincing me to try IVF. That’s never happening.”

Sean went rigid for a long moment. When he finally understood, he wanted nothing more than to devour her whole.

Yvonne loved teasing him like this. If Sean had a tail, she was sure he’d be wagging it right now.

She loved Sean for this—loyal as a good dog, fiercely protective, a little possessive, and always faithful.

It wasn’t that she didn’t care for him; she’d just been trapped in her own pain and revenge all these years, never able to fully return his love.

But she saw it—she saw every bit of his devotion.

...

Harboridge City, the White family estate.

The butler handed Reginald his medication, watching carefully as the old man swallowed it, only leaving once he was sure.

As soon as the butler was gone, Reginald spat the pills into a handkerchief, his expression dark as he dialed Tyrone’s number. “Tyrone, are you absolutely certain about those test results?”

“Grandpa, if you trust me, then be careful around everyone. Don’t tip your hand. For now, no one can know Nicole is an impostor,” Tyrone cautioned.

“I understand.” Reginald ended the call and immediately dialed another number—his sponsored student. “Clayton Holloway, it’s time you returned to Harboridge City. I need someone trustworthy by my side.”

“Yes, sir. I’ll be back tomorrow to help you.”
