Chapter 275 of 391

Chapter 275

The teacher wiped the sweat from his forehead and shook his head. No way was he getting involved—with or without security footage, he had to play dumb. “Sorry, the cameras are broken.”

Tyrone nodded in agreement. “That settles it, then. No security footage means no proof we laid a hand on anyone. Miss Holloway, if you keep making a scene, that would be rather rude.”

The teacher jumped in quickly. “Miss Holloway, it doesn’t look like Chloe’s badly hurt. Maybe we should just let this go...”

“Who says we’re letting it go!” Mina shot back, her voice sharp and unrelenting. “Tyrone, do you still think you’re who you used to be? Without your Lynch Corporation inheritance, do you really think you still call the shots around here?”

Tyrone shot her a mocking look. Utter ignorance.

Did they really think that just because he’d left Lynch Corporation, he was fair game for them to push around? “Word is, Evercrest Group already snatched up most of the Holloway family’s assets. You’re barely hanging on yourselves, but you still have the nerve to throw your weight around here?”

Mina’s expression faltered for a split second. How did Tyrone know that Evercrest Group had been targeting the Holloways lately? Could he possibly know the boss behind Evercrest?

She sneered. “So what if you know someone at Evercrest Group? You’re just using your current status to cozy up to the powerful. Wait until you fall from grace—let’s see who even bothers to look at you then.”

She turned back to the teacher. “On behalf of the International Program’s sponsors, I’m formally requesting disciplinary action against the students who started this fight.”

The teacher looked nervous, glancing at Mina. “But... there’s no evidence...”

“Had enough?” Mina was gearing up for another round when Vincent strode into the room.

Chloe froze, eyes darting to Vincent in alarm. “S-sis, Vincent...”

Vincent glanced at Alicia, concern etched across his face. “Alicia... Did she hurt you?”

Alicia took refuge behind Tyrone, refusing to acknowledge Vincent.

A slow, triumphant smile tugged at Tyrone’s lips. It felt good—the girl was starting to rely on him again.

That trust made his heart soar.

“Vincent, look at me! They ganged up on me—both of them!” Chloe whined, her voice full of self-pity.

Mina chimed in, unwilling to let it drop. “Vincent, it was Alicia and that other woman who went after Chloe.”

Vincent’s voice was icy. “She looks perfectly fine to me. If there’s no evidence, stop making a spectacle of yourselves and go home.”

Mina bristled. “Vincent!”

He shot her a cold look. The Holloways were on the verge of collapse, thanks to Evercrest Group; Vincent clearly no longer saw them as allies. Now Mina was the one scrambling to curry favor, a far cry from when she used to keep Vincent at arm’s length.

Times had changed.

It was almost pitiful, really.

Alicia couldn’t help thinking Mina was an absolute fool. Back when Vincent loved her most, she kept him dangling until he ran out of affection, and now that there was nothing left to gain, she’d lost everything.

“Mr. Lawson, you may be easy on the eyes, but your taste in women is questionable at best. Maybe it’s time for a new pair of glasses.” Winnie shot Vincent a mocking glance.

He frowned, shot Winnie a dark look, and left without another word.

Mina glared daggers at Alicia, but with the Holloways’ fate hanging by a thread and Vincent their only hope, she didn’t dare provoke him further.

Swallowing her pride, she led Chloe away.

Tyrone turned to Alicia, gently pinching her cheek. “Let me see—did my darling get hurt?”

Alicia blushed bright red, glancing nervously at Tyrone. “Wh-what are you doing... Winnie’s still here!”

Winnie grinned. “Come on, that was a total victory, wasn’t it?”

Tyrone raised a brow. “Since we won, let’s go—I’m treating you both to something delicious. You’ve earned it.”

Hand in hand with Winnie, Alicia followed Tyrone out, her heart light.

She was so happy—good friends at her side, someone to rely on.
