Nicole strutted over to Alicia, her voice dripping with mockery. âSome people really overestimate themselves. Maybe they should take a good long look in the mirror before running their mouths.â
Chloe, emboldened now that she had backup, chimed in with a sneer. âHonestly, some folks have no shame. Guess when youâre used to being the other woman and living off sugar daddies, decency goes out the window.â
Winnie bristled, glaring daggers at them. âWatch who youâre calling shameless. You run your mouth like youâre begging for a fight.â
Chloe shot Winnie a scornful look. âDonât think you can cozy up to Alicia and worm your way to Tyrone. Let me tell you, only the man who marries Nicole gets to inherit Lynch Corporation. Tyroneâs days are numberedâheâll be out of the family soon enough. The future of the company belongs with Nicoleâs husband, not him.â
Winnie rolled her eyes. âEnjoy your little moment of power while it lasts.â
Alicia watched the drama unfold and let out a weary sigh. âChloe, itâs sad how limited your vision is. Youâll never see beyond this.â
Chloe, stung, grabbed a book from the table, ready to hurl it at Alicia.
Alicia stood up, meeting her gaze calmly. âStill havenât had enough humiliation? Word is, Vincent Lawson just announced to the press that heâs calling off the engagement with the Holloway family. Theyâre barely holding it together now, and without that alliance, what are you even worth, Chloe?â
Chloeâs face turned red with anger. Winnie, unable to resist twisting the knife, grinned. âEveryoneâs talking about how the Holloways sold off Crystal Waters. What a disgrace. And didnât Mina Holloway get herself thrown out of Crystal Waters for causing a scene?â
The rest of the class buzzed with gossip. Chloe, mortified, huffed and stormed back to her seat.
Nicole scoffed and shot Alicia a cold glare. âLetâs see how long you can keep that attitude, Alicia. When Tyrone gets kicked out of the Lynch family, donât say I didnât warn you. If you donât want your life to go down the drain, youâd better get on your knees and beg me.â
Alicia just smiled coolly. âLetâs hope you make it that far.â She took Winnie by the arm and led her to sit down away from the others.
Nicole, meanwhile, had joined the international class, though she barely understood a word and constantly disrupted lessons. The teachers disliked her, but with her status as Ms. Whiteâs daughter, none dared say a thing. She acted like she owned the place, lording it over everyone.
âThat girl is really asking for it,â Winnie muttered, barely restraining herself.
Alicia caught her arm. âLet her run wild. Sooner or later, Nicole is going to get exactly what she deserves.â

Just like Tyrone said: if Jade ever brought the real White heiress back, Nicoleâs days of arrogance would be numbered. If she really was a fraud, her fall would be spectacular.
Class was about to start when a new student walked in. To everyoneâs surprise, it was Easton.
He looked less than thrilled.
Though he was studying finance, Maddox had insisted on transferring him to the international class so he could study abroadâclearly grooming him to take over Lynch Corporation one day.
Tyrone had done his graduate studies overseas before coming back. There was no way Easton could afford to have a weaker résumé than Tyrone.
Alicia glanced at Easton, feeling a pang of sympathy for Tyrone. The old man wasnât even trying to hide it anymoreâhe was laying out the red carpet for Easton, ready to hand him everything Tyrone had worked for.
âEaston! Sit by me!â Nicoleâs shrill voice cut through the quiet classroom as everyone settled in to study.
Easton ignored her completely, walking right past and taking the empty seat next to Alicia instead.
Alicia frowned, puzzled by his choice. Why would Easton want to sit beside her?
