Flashback ~ 1320 b.c. ~ England

The night sky shone with a full moon, howls could be heard for miles yet nobody seemed to care. Besides why would they, wolves had been roaming the forests for years and yet never attacked; they only ever howled on a full moon anyway.

The townsfolk were all on their way to the castle on the outskirts of that very wood. The cobblestone bricks of the towers could be seen over a large distance as they peep over the trees and the vines and ivy crawling further and further up each day never seemed to flower like others, however nobody seemed to mind. Why would they? It was the people inside who they longed to get a glimpse at anyway; the Addingtons.

The family of elegance and power barely left, and if they did it wasn't for long. The people who had seen them had described them as stunning. They would call them 'the family that never seemed to age' as the couple didn't look a day over 25, and the darling daughter of whom every man in the town had wished to wed.

She had clear skin which was as pale as snow and it contrasted greatly with her long dark locks that cascaded over her shoulders in bouncy effortless curls. Her dark brown eyes had golden flecks when glistening in the sunlight and her lips were a deep red. Needless to say she was beautiful and everyone could see it.

It was the night of the Addington ball, an annual event at which they looked for any fitting suitors for their daughter of whom was busy getting ready in her bedroom. Her handmaiden, pulled the strings of her corset tightly before tying it and allowing the gorgeous girl to get dressed as she placed a white Rose in her hair.

Her dress ^

A knock could be heard from her door so she gracefully head over and opened it. Her mother stood at the door, dressed in her poised burgundy dress.

"My darling, you looked wonderful!" her mother exclaimed proudly to which her daughter replied,

"I always do."

"Are you ready to head down to the ball?"

"As ready as I'll ever be." She stated bluntly and her mother rolled her eyes.

"I know you do not like the townsfolk darling, but they will get suspicious if you don't marry soon."

"It is not that I do not like them mother, it is that I would rather eat them."

"Now now, enough of that Evangeline, you were the one who agreed that come the age of 20 you would marry. You are now 22, we have already been lenient."

"I know mother, but what happens if I am to meet somebody and as soon as they learn our secret they run for the hills?"

"Then that is where the art of compulsion comes in my darling."

"But mother, I do not want to compel someone's love, I wish for it to be true not forced."

"You will figure it out darling. Besides you are our master manipulator anyway. Never in my 324 years of life have I met somebody who can get anything they like, such as how you are able to."

"Okay mother." She sighed, not really agreeing to her mother's plan but she knew that her mother wouldn't give this up.

"Please give it up for Isadora and Desmond Addington." The presenter called as Evangeline's parents walked down the stairs towards the ballroom, a round of applause as they passed.

"And finally, welcome the beautiful and graceful, Evangeline Rosabella Addington."

The crowd erupted in applause as she elegantly made her way down the stairs, not a hair out of place and not a mark on her dress. She let her eyes scan the room and eventually towards her suitors. Among the townsfolk, one face stood out; possibly because she knew he wasn't from the town. He began to make his way to greet her, a smirk playing on his face as his grey eyes looked into hers.

He lifted her hand and kissed it before speaking, "Its an honour to meet you Evangeline." A strong American accent showing as he talked.

"The pleasure is mine, I'm sorry I did not catch your name."

"It is Atticus Chase and may I say you are looking utterly dashing. Red is certainly your colour."

"Indeed it is, as well as being my favourite."

A slow song came on and Atticus lifted his hand towards her. "May I have this dance?"

She took his hand and he lead her to the dance floor, they swayed to the music as he guided her delicately across the floor. Curious eyes of the townsfolk watched as they danced, they were like puzzles fitting together as it seemed as though they had known each other for years.

Her parents watched in shock and delight as their daughter, who had never once shown an interest in the suitors they had picked before, was now dancing happily with the mysterious man who was Atticus Chase. The smile on Evangeline's face was visible from across the room as was the one on Atticus'. Anybody could see their chemistry, so much so that at the end of the ball, not one of the other suitors had even introduced themselves in fear of rejection. She had picked her husband already.

California - 1323

Three years had passed since the day they had met. They had gotten married a year later, after he had proposed under the light of the full moon; it was enchanting. Eventually their secrets were shared, she told him about being a vampire just prior to their engagement and in return he told her he was a werewolf. Evangeline was glad that they were both supernaturals as this meant there would be no further secrets between them. They had moved in together at the Chase werewolf's hometown in order for them to lead his pack and they really couldn't have been happier.

Their anniversary was coming up soon and Atticus was in the woods, picking white roses as a table centre piece for their romantic dinner. White roses were a shared favourite between the couple, to her they were a sign of innocence to which she believed their love blossomed from, to him they reminded him of Evangeline in the simple fact that she had one in her hair when they first met.

He was happily placing the flowers in a basket for his love when he was startled by an ear piercing scream; Evangeline's scream. He dropped his basket and took off through the woods to find her and when he did his heart ached.

She stood bent over beside a tree stump. Her hair full of leaves and twigs, her dress torn and tears running down her cheeks. A large blistering bite mark could be seen on her shoulder blade as she knelt. Without hesitation he rushed to her side.

"What happened my love?" He asked in a panic as she wept.

"I am afraid I have been bitten by one of you're kind Atty." she sobbed, his nickname being muffled as he pulled her into his chest.

"We can see a doctor, it will be okay my angel."

"No my love, a bite from a werewolf is deadly to a vampire, I will suffer and I will hallucinate until I-" she explained before he cut her off.

"No love, don't say it, please do not say what I am thinking is true." He exclaimed as tears began to trickled down his cheeks.

"It is Atty, I am going to die." They both cried before he stated.

"If you are to die, then I will die with you. It's us, always."

"And forever." She finished.

With that she snapped a stick so that it was a sharp point at the end and handed it to him in tears. Also with tears running down his face, he held the stake directly above her heart as she grabbed her silver dagger holding it over his chest.

"On 3." He choked out.

"1...2..."

"I love you Evangeline."

"I love you too Atticus."

"3" and with that the stake was launched into her heart as she stabbed the silver dagger into his, they both died on the spot, still in each others embrace.

However, what the two didn't know, was that there was someone watching the entire thing happen from the shadows of the woods, pitying that their epic love would be lost and ultimately making a decision which would make any witch turn against them in a heartbeat if found out. The elder Lockston witch pulled her black hood over her head as to not be seen and rushed over to the couple, removing the impaled objects from each of their chests and quickly performing a cloaking spell before taking the bodies to a nearby cabin.

Once inside she lit many candles around the two corpses and began chanting in Latin. Eventually a light gasp could be heard from the young vampire shortly followed by one from the wolf. They embraced each other before pulling apart and looking at the witch.

"W-what, but we, we died!" Evangeline stuttered while switching her glance from the witch and her husband.

"You did my dear, however it would be a shame for such raw love to go to waste. You two could have had an epic love story, however you were bitten. Only for Atticus to sacrifice himself for you. I believe it would be cruel for that to be the last of your relationship." The witch explained.

"How could we ever repay you?" Atticus asked her, his eyes wide while his hand interlocked his love's.

"You needn't repay me. Just make sure you stay hidden, the people think you are dead and I would suffer great consequences if anybody knew what I have done. I have joined your lives to two people in the distant future, you will know who they are when you meet them and only then can you make you're appearance in public."

"How will we know?" Evangeline asked.

"You just will my dear."

"Where will we go?"

"Evangeline's old castle, I will find a way to evacuate the place and then I will let you know. It shall only take a few days at most."

"Okay, we will stay here for the mean time." Atticus replied while looking over at the brunette vampire in reassurance.

"Perfect, well I must be on my way, stay safe and stay hidden my dears." The witch finished before pulling up her hood and leaving the cabin, locking the door behind her.
