Chapter 40 Daughter-in-Law Olivia had a menacing look on her face as she pressed harder. âBirds of the same feather flock together. Your whole family is trash!â
âAh... Let me go!â Florence yelled.
Olivia gave North a look. âNorth, you better go now.â
At this moment, North kept a straight face before yelling, âMommy, we only reason with human beings and not other animals!â
These words made Olivia laugh. âAlright. You better go to class now.â
North acknowledged it before casually walking into the school with his hands in his pockets.
Florence angrily looked at North while commenting hatefully, âHeâs really the son of a beggar; he doesnât know what manner is.â
Olivia squinted, then swung at her, sending her flying. âWho do you think you are?â
Being caught completely off guard, Florence was slammed against the schoolâs gate and bounced back, almost falling to the ground. Even though she was absolutely terrified, she still wanted to lash out at Olivia at this point.
âOlivia, you are truly disrespectful. How can you treat someone older than you like this? Fortunately, my son didnât marry you.â
Olivia sneered. âFortunately, I didnât marry him. It would be very unlucky of me to have such a devious mother-in-law like you.
Only someone like Anna can deal with you!â As she finished, she proceeded to walk away.
âOlivia, where do you think youâre going? Iâm going to tell your dad!â Florence shouted, but Olivia pretended not to hear anything.
Meanwhile, the security guard came out of the school. âIs your son still coming in?â
Still slightly mad, Florence yelled at the security guard, âDidnât you see that my grandson just fell?â
The security guard was rendered speechless. âThen, help him up. Thatâs no big deal. Isnât the kid that you pushed just fine? Itâs nothing serious.â
His words shut Florence up. Then, she helped Mitchell up. âMitch, let me have a look at you to see if youâre okay.â
Mitchell broke down and shouted, âMy butt is hurting! I donât want to go to school today!â
Florence dusted him off and consoled, âAlright, alright. Letâs go home then.â
Then, she took him back inside the car as the security guard shook his head, feeling speechless. He could not bring himself to agree with this way of raising a child.
After Olivia got back, she immediately called Kate and Nathan over to her place for a big discussion.
âIâm going to open a fashion studio immediately, and weâre going for the high-end market.â
Kate supported her, âSounds good! Youâll be the founder. Since Iâm in the fashion magazine industry, this makes us a perfect match.â
Nathan added, âI can help you find a suitable shop location. Iâm familiar with Summer City, so itâs not a problem for me!â
Olivia turned to both of them and smiled. âAlright then. Itâs official. Iâm going to make that family pay.â
Kate and Nathan looked at each other. âWhat happened? Did you run into Anna again?â
Olivia puckered up her lips. âIt was Annaâs mother-in-law. I believe Iâve come to the realization that every time God puts you through hardships, you shouldnât complain as the hardships may be Godâs way of saving you.â
She put out such a profound statement all of a sudden, leaving Kate and Nathan even more confused.
âDid you guys fight?â Kate asked.
Olivia responded, âWhen she was sending Annaâs child to school, that child ran too fast and knocked into North. North was fine but he fell...â
After recounting what happened this morning, she added, âFortunately, Iâm not her daughter-in-law. Otherwise, I might die young.â
