Olivia frowned. âWhat are you doing?â âAlthough Eugene isnât an easy pawn to remove, youâre on my turf. I just need more people, and the odds would favor me. Once I get rid of Eugene...â Christoff rose to his feet and raised her chin with his finger. âIâll bed his woman and beat up his son. Just thinking about it makes me happy!â
Furious, Olivia stomped on his foot. âOh, wake up! Lay a finger on him, and youâll die before him. Iâll promise you that!â
While hugging his aching foot, Christoff cursed, âYou little b*tch.â He sprang to his feet and raised his chin, swinging his hand to slap Olivia. She closed her eyes reflexively but did not feel the impact, so she slightly opened her eyes. Then, she saw him already seated before taunting her, âI thought you were bolder than that.â
She replied, âIâm not as bold as you, but I wonât do anything if you didnât provoke me first. If it gets to the point where I have to retaliate, I will bring you to hell with me if I have to.â After a snort, he challenged, âOh, you think so?â
She said, âDesperate people resorts to desperate moves.â While glaring at her, Christoff rebuked, âShouldnât you have more conscience? At the very least, Iâm the one who helped you find Eugene, arenât I? If I hadnât helped you that day, your boyfriend wouldâve already become the King of the Cityâs son-in-law. But I havenât heard a single word of thanks from you, and youâve been constantly hurting me since we met. What have I ever done to you that made you so desperate to pull me into hell with you?â
Olivia was dumbfounded for a moment. When she thought about it, he was decent to her besides speaking indecently. Also, heâs right. If it hadnât been for him, the matters in Nambahd wouldnât have gone so smoothly. However, he had himself to blame because every time he spoke, his words would anger her.
âThank you.â Christoff snorted. âJust a verbal thanks? I thought you promised to treat me to a meal?â Olivia replied, âI donât have time for that because my son is here, and I need to keep him company.â
âThatâs Eugeneâs son, but what about Carter? How did he become your son too?â She glared at him. âQuit poking your nose in everything, will you?â
âOlivia!â Christoff screamed in anger. âCan you speak more politely?â Taking a deep breath, she reminded herself that he was only verbally rude and had treated her quite well. It took her a while before unwillingly explaining, âHeâs my godson.â He nodded.
âHeâs not a bad kid and knows how to stand up for you at critical times.â
Knock! Knock! Then came Jewelâs voice. âOlivia, are you all right?â Olivia quickly answered, âJewel, Iâm fine. Iâll be out soon.â
It was then that Jewel felt assured. She had been outside the door all along. While others did not know Averyâs character, she knew the guy was dangerous. A while later, the entry to the powder room opened, followed by Olivia and Christoffâs appearance.
When they returned to the set, she apologized to the crew. âDirector Norris, Iâm sorry. My instincts kicked in and injured Avery.
Iâve already explained it to him, and weâve put it behind us. Why donât you check to see if the footage is okay? If it isnât, we can reshoot it.â
Director Norris looked at the two and replied, âItâs fine. We can use the first part of it. Both of you have captured the characterâs personality well. Avery added the part where the character couldnât control himself, and you responded just like Margot would.
That scene was very natural, so if youâre both fine with it, we can continue shooting.â
