âWhat relationship do we have?â Christoff sneered while continuing to wipe his hand. Veronica was taken aback. However, at the thought that Savannah was still present, she didnât take the manâs words to heart and just assumed that he didnât like her publicizing their relationship.
With that, she attempted to hug him, but Christoff debased her again. âDo you think you mean something to me just because we f*cked? Huh, you should be grateful that I donât find you repulsive to f*ck.â
Shock overcame Veronica as she widened her mouth agape with incredulity. âW-What did you just say?â âI said you can f*ck off now,â Christoff announced as he threw the handkerchief into the trash can.
With that, he walked away ruthlessly. Meanwhile, Veronica dropped to the ground and mumbled, âWhat now? What am I going to do now?!â Savannah, on the other hand, shut the door in a panic before helping Veronica up. âAre you okay?â
âHow can he be so heartless?!â Veronica bawled. âMust he be so heartless for Olivia?!â âBut didnât she say it has nothing to do with her?â âAs if Avery would treat me like this if Maxwell has nothing to do with it! You have no idea how gentle he usually is to me.â
While Savannah tried to comfort Veronica, Christoff went to Oliviaâs green room and coaxed her with a beam as soon as he went in. âWhatâs wrong? Are you upset?â
To that, Olivia glared daggers at him. âAnd how. do you expect me to feel? Smile and say thank you when you canât even keep your woman in check, letting her slander me behind my back?!â
âWho is she to call me her woman?â Christoff sneered. âIn the future, thereâs no need to get me involved in insignificant issues like this. I believe you can handle it on your own.â
âAnd why should I clean up after you?â Olivia huffed, to which Christoff replied with a grin, âIsnât it obvious that you mean something to me? I mean, you can literally do whatever your want.â âWho do you think I am to you?â
âYouâre my girlfriend, of course.â
âHave you no shame?!â
âA girl and a friend; a girlfriend.â Christoff chuckled and slumped into the seat across from her as he spoke. âSay, you really have a short temper, donât you? If anything, people might think youâre being jealous here.â
âSays the guy who likes to overthink,â Olivia retorted, feeling exasperated. âAnd I credit that to you,â Christoff said helplessly. âI have to figure out what youâre implying with every word you say now.â
âCanât you behave like a normal human being?!â Olivia gagged at his words. âDonât worry, weâve broken up. Does it please you now?â Christoff asked with a smile, to which Olivia replied, âCanât you tell I want you two to stick together for the rest of your lives?â
âWell, we canât stick together even for one night now.â âIf thatâs the case, go back to her and stay the hell away from me, lest I get insulted for no reason again. What have I done to deserve that?!â
âYouâve done me!â Christoff grinned mischievously. âYou, me?â Olivia questioned as she sized the man up with despise. âAs if Iâm that blind!â
Christoff was rendered at a loss for words. Eugene had just returned to Muse Peninsula at night when he received a call from an unknown number. Despite finding it strange, he answered it nonetheless. âHi, is this Mr. Nolan?â said an unfamiliar woman on the other end of the line.
âIâm sorry; who is this on the line?â Eugene asked, to which the lady answered, âHi, Mr. Nolan. Iâm Cindy from Mi Amor, the coupleâs restaurant. You said to call you if Blake Rogers and his godmother came over, correct? Well, theyâre dining in the restaurant as we speak. Would you like to come over?â
Finally, it dawned on Eugene. âAlright, thank you.â
After hanging up the call, he rushed out the door, hoping the tripletsâ godmother would have the answers he needed.
