--------Chapter 11-----------
Alexia could be found the next morning in the room that could be called a commons room between the apartments.  She was lurking there trying to wait and find Jada.  She wanted to get close enough to her to get her talk.  To do that, she had to spend some time with her.  Of course, she had to find her first.  Alexia just hoped that Jada wasn't currently using her invisibility powers, if so she might never find her. But since Cheater said that she doesnât use the anymore, that wasnât a big possibility.
Since Alexia couldn't just go up to Jada's door and ask to come in, being that Jada had never said a word to her, she decided to wait on the couch and watch TV. Â The entire time, she watched Jada's door like a hawk just waiting for her prey.
It was a few more hours before Jada came out. Â By that time, Alexia had spent time with just about everyone else. Â They all came and went, but Jada didn't show until around five. Â Alexia was alone at the time and waved her over. Â Jada went to her with a confused look on her face.
"Hey Jada, how are you feeling today?" Â Alexia asked nicely with a smile. When that didn't get a response, she continued. Â "Well, why don't you sit down here and watch TV? Â If you want, you can pick the channel!" Â Alexia said that last part in a singsong voice. Â Jada didn't say a word but a smile was trying to appear on her face. Â Alexia could tell that Jada was trying to hide it so she didn't say anything. Â She did however, hand her the remote.
Jada accepted it without a sound, and flipped through the channels until she found a cartoon channel and sat the remote down. Â Alexia had completely forgotten that Jada was actually around eleven. Â The poor girl had been through things that no one should have to go through, let alone a girl of eleven.
The TV was showing a show with animated animals and Alexia smiled and chattered about what was going on in the episode. Â She never got the slightest noise from Jada, but that didn't matter because of the tiny smile that was starting to form on the girl's face. Â They sat like this throughout the next two hours, Jada picking a TV show and Alexia keeping up a constant stream of one-sided conversation. Â Jada sat quietly and never made any more noise than to get repositioned on the couch. Â But for Alexia, that was enough. Â The fact that Jada was smiling was a great reward, and it meant that she might be able to get her to talk eventually.
-------------
Cheater was sitting in his room most of the day. Â He knew that Alexia was trying to get through to Jada today, so he decided that he would just stay out of her way. Â At one point, around five oâclock, he decided that he should go check on them. Â He cleaned himself up, since he had been lying around all day, and fed himself before he went outside the apartment.
After his meal, Cheater went to his door and edged it open. Â He opened it just enough to peer at the couch. Â He was diagonal to it and the TV. Â He could see them, but they couldn't see him. Â First he saw Alexia, and smiled when he saw that she was keeping up a constant stream up chatter that he couldn't hear. Â He turned to see Jada, and almost lost his secrecy when he gasped. Â He quickly went into his apartment and pulled the door shut behind him.
He had seen Jada smiling.
That was bigger than anyone else could understand.  Cheater hadnât even seen Jada smile whatsoever since she came to the school. The smile looked so peaceful on her face. The next step was getting her to at least respond to conversation.  He just hoped that Alexia could do it soon, they needed out of that school as soon as possible.  Besides, it's not like they could tell the other kids about wanting to escape too early.  They might only get their hopes up and then ruin them in the end.
Cheater decided that he would scan the white coats' minds to see if anything was going on. Â When there was no news, he just lay down on the couch in his apartment and watched TV. Â He was waiting on Alexia to be done so he could ask her about Jada. Â He was just waiting until his mind heard her get ready for bed. Â He lay there for a while before he decided that he was getting too tired from keeping his mind open for so long. Â He got ready and went to bed, wanting to talk to Alexia in the morning.
------------
It was around nine that Jada started looking really tired. Â Alexia noticed and decided that she had better shoo her into bed before she got too tired and fell asleep on the uncomfortable couch. Â Jada was eleven after all, so she needed her sleep.
"Are you tired Jada?" Â Alexia asked quietly. Â She watched Jada out of the corner of her eye, not looking too closely because she was afraid to scare her. Â She saw Jada's small nod of the head, and heard her yawn slightly. Â She couldn't help but smile. Â "Ok dear, let's go to your room ok?" Â She asked and saw Jada smile slightly and nod again.
Alexia stood up and offered her had to Jada to help her up.  Jada accepted the help and lightly pulled Alexia to her apartment.  The first thing that Alexia noticed about the room was all of the pink.  The room was another close replica of hers, but everything was in pink.  The only big difference, other than the color, was the fact that the room was safer.  It didn't have a stove, or anything else that an eleven year old shouldn't have control of.  'At least they try to keep us safe when they're not experimenting on us.'  Alexia thought to herself. There was also a toy chest in the corner of the living room.
Alexia helped Jada find her clothes for that night and the next day, and even helped her get ready for bed. Â Jada didn't say a word the entire time, but she smiled and either nodded or shook her head at questions. Â After Jada had gotten out of the shower and brushed her teeth, Alexia helped her into bed and tucked her in. Â She walked to the bedroom door and turned around to look at the small girl in the bed before her.
"I had fun today. Â Let's do it again tomorrow okay?" Â Alexia asked. Â She saw Jada smile and nod. Â "Night Jada, I'll see you in the morning." Â She said softly as she shut the door.
She thought she heard a soft "Night." coming from within the room after the door was shut, but she was probably just imagining it.
After that, Alexia went to her apartment and decided to work on her powers.  She needed to work out her newer ones, since she couldn't use her telekinesis because of the machine they used to block it.  She decided to work on fire for the night.  She held a piece of paper in her hand, and practiced setting fire to it and extinguishing it.  It was such a cool feeling for Alexia to be able to control her fire. It excited her and scared her at the same time.  It was really scary for a person to know that they have that much power under their control.
After around ten o'clock, Alexia tired herself out. Â She was sweating heavily from the exertion of setting fire to the paper. Â She took a warm shower and let her muscles relax. Â She felt better after she got out and soon got ready for bed. Â She turned her favorite sleep playlist on once again. Â After a-lot of thinking about getting Jada to talk, she fell asleep.
