WOLF
My body feels heavy as I drag it towards the flaming bonfire; this entire week has been brutal, and my muscles are still aching. Looking down at Damien as he sits with his back against a heavy log, I canât help but smirk,
âYou look like shit, you know that?â Looking up at me, he rolls his eyes as he scoffs,
âFuck you; you made me do way more than you, and you know it.â Letting out a low chuckle, I take a cold beer from the cooler box right beside him before resting my tired body on the ground beside him, resting against the heavy log behind us; I let out a deep sigh.
âYou know tomorrow weâve gotta start bolting all that shit together, right?â Taking a swig from my beer while looking aimlessly at the flames licking the cool air. Damienâs head slowly turns as he scowls at me, and I swear the chuckle rumbling from my chest nearly sends the bubbles from the beer in my mouth right up my nose. Damien packs up, laughing as he shakes his head at me,
âTell me again why weâre building a fucking obstacle course in the back garden?â
âSo we can train with our pack, make them stronger if Caius decides to pop us an unexpected visit.â
âWhatâs with this we, alpha Wolf? This is your pack, not mine.â He retorts sarcastically.
âIt could be,â I say as I turn my head to look at him. âIf you became my beta, it could be our pack then.â And thereâs this long pause as he eyes me warily for a moment,
âYou want me to become your beta?â Shrugging, I tip my beer in his direction.
âOnly if you want to,â Scoffing, the corners of Damienâs mouth suddenly turn into a grin.
âYeah, I would have to check my schedule and get back to you. Mason takes up a lot of my free time, as you know; thereâs fucking Mason, fucking Mason, and well, more of fucking Mason...â
âYou said that three times already; you canât use the same thing three times; it doesnât count,â I smirk as I raise a teasing brow at him. And the moment a low chuckle reverberates from him, I canât help but do the same.
âYeah, I guess I could become your beta; who else is gonna help you finish building that god-forsaken death trap out back.â And itâs then that we both burst out laughing as we continue staring at the fire, the warmth of the flames slowly creeping into my body as I suddenly begin to feel that all too familiar ache return into the pit of my stomach.
I miss her; I donât think a day has gone by where I havenât.

Two months...
Itâs been a whole sixty-three days, seven hours, and thirty-two minutes since she left.
I know sheâs alive; Edith reassures me that if she wasnât, the fragments of her birthstone hanging around my neck would have killed me by now. How comforting, I think sarcastically to myself as I lay on my bed staring aimlessly at the ceiling.
Edith and Mason removed all of Fenrisâs things from the main bedroom and replaced them with new furniture; as much as I wanted to keep sleeping in Sashaâs room, the memory of her in there, her scent and stuff... It doesnât help one bit with maintaining a level head and staying focused; it is quite the opposite. In fact, it keeps sucking me back into a state of depression, one Iâm willing to drown in.
Edith says itâs unhealthy to be obsessed, so she decided I needed my own room. She also chose to keep Sashaâs door locked, so I canât just keep walking in whenever I feel like it. Sheâs constantly keeping an eye on me; the old bat scolds me like a child whenever she notices Iâm not eating, exercising, or doing something constructive with my time.
But when I go to bed at night, her âmother henâ routine does nothing to keep the memories away. They flood my mind and hound my dreams, turning them into nightmares and sometimes having me leap out of bed like a raging wild animal, ready to attack the very thing standing between her and me...
A curse.
Two months...
Pulling the picture of us from my back pocket, I lift it up and stare at it as my heart begins to ache...
Where are you, Sasha? Where the fuck are you?
