Chapter 367
âPeanuts? Farley had checked the menu in advance. No way.â Ramona was sure of it.
After all, Lilliana was allergic to peanuts, and the Myers family would have taken note of that.
Gregory poured a cup of coffee for Ramona. âDonât worry. I checked with the chef who prepared the dinner, and they did use peanut butter.â
âThen Janeâ¦â Ramona still remembered my allergy to peanuts, âDid you break out in rashes yesterday because you ate peanuts?â
âYeah, I wasnât paying attention when I ate.â I nodded.
Then Gregory reminded, âRamona, itâs not just Jane whoâs allergic to peanuts.â
âYou meanâ¦â Ramona caught on, her expression turning grave. âIndeed, Lilliana didnât show any allergic reactions, but is it possible she didnât eat those two pastries?â
âShe did.â Gregory was very sure in his response.
Ramona was puzzled. âHow do you know?â
Gregory hesitated for a sec, looking kinda sheepish. âI hacked into the Myers familyâs surveillance system and watched the entire reception from yesterday.â
What?
Ramona choked a bit, not dwelling on it, but her expression darkened. âYou meanâ¦â
âLetâs not discuss whether Jane is Lily or not,â Gregory didnât put me on the spot, just said coldly, âBut the Lilliana we have now seems like someone deliberately sent her to us.â
âGrandmaâ¦â As soon as Gregory finished speaking, Lilliana walked in from the yard, her face as pale and dollâlike as ever, without a hint of color.
Beside her stood Susan
Seeing us as well, Susan wasnât surprised, directly accusing. Jane, you just stood by during Lillianaâs emergency yesterday. How dare you show your face at our house?â
As she spoke, she moved to kick me out.
âStop!â Ramona shouted in anger, âSheâs in my house. Iâm not in my grave yet, and youâre making decisions. for me?â
âRamona, you saw how she was yesterday, not a bit of compassion. Weâre better off with less contact with such people.â
âWhen it was time to draw Dorothyâs blood, I didnât see you showing compassion, either. Lilliana is your daughter, after all.â Ramonaâs tone was neither light nor heavy.
Surprisingly, Susan wasnât mad. She tried to contain her temper and defended herself, âItâs hard since I love them bothâ¦
âEnough, whatâs the matter?â Ramona didnât want to hear anymore, cutting straight to the point.
Susan pushed Lilliana forward, rolling her sleeve. âRamona, I wanted to ask if there was anything with peanuts at last nightâs dinner. Lilliana suddenly had an allergic reaction.â
âLilliana had an allergic reaction, too?â Ramona paused.
Susan pretended to be puzzled. âBesides Lilliana, who else is allergic to peanuts?â

Chapter 367
âSusan, didnât you see how Jane reacted last night?â Gregory asked calmly.
Susan coughed lightly. âSheâs no kin or relation of mine. Why would I bother about her?â
âLilliana, come here.â Ramona beckoned Lilliana over. âYou were fine last night. How come youâre having an allergic reaction now?â
âI just had the doctor come over. Susan was logical, âThe doctor mentioned it might just be individual differences. Some folks react fast to allergies, while others react more slowly.â
âIs that so? Lily started reacting within minutes of eating them when she was little. Gregory suddenly spoke up, and the depth of investigation in his eyes was profound.
