Chapter 1: Chapter One

The Royal HelpWords: 2137

"Are you sure about this sire?" The royal guard asked The king, looking straight into the wall behind him afraid of angering the king. "Ofcourse Dominic. It is the only way to ensure that this kingdom has a future." Says the king as he rubs his chin, deep in thought. For him, it was finally time.

Looking below him, he could see as his soldiers trained, the heavy clashes of metal with resounding strength bringing his lips into an upward curve. Indeed, it was sad that he could not share the secret of the kings with those he loved. They simply would not understand. It was the only resolve of reason. A soft tap on the door drew him out of his thoughts to look at his wife May, the queen.

She was heavy and at eight months, he found her remarkably beautiful. The gleam in his coffee brown eyes made her purse her lips in worry.

"What is it?" She asks.

"Whatever do you mean?" He replies smiling sheepishly at her as he draws her close and kisses her bump and then her forehead.

"Dont play tricks with me William. I am well aware of your worry. Come on. Spill it." She says, moving away from his embrace to look into his eyes. He surely could not hide anything from this woman.

"Nothing my sweet. Simply putting in security measures." He says, observing that she has cocked an eyebrow suspectingly at him. He cups her face and kisses her sweetly after reassuring her all is well.

"You must promise me,no..nobody will ever know." Andrea chokes as she hands the child to her sister Caramel.

Caramel nods as she wipes away a tear, watching her sister breathe her last. She gathers her things and the babe's after which she takes off. Looking back, she gazes in horror as her home is set ablaze.

With a last vow, she promises to avenge her by honouring her dying wish.

Walking briskly to his carriage, royal guard in tow, he receives a list of names of the ladies he is going to meet.

"Depart!"

He hears the gatesman announce as the carriage begins to move. Slowly, he goes through the list of names and pictures alike. Sipping his tea while skimming the sheet of paper, his eyes widen as he drops his cup. He could not believe it.
