He prepared himself to meet her in the ballroom. Putting on the music, he sits down waiting for her to appear.

She pokes her head into the room and sees him seated on the floor. His face lights up in a smile when she walks in.

"Welcome. I thought we could do something different today." He says taking her hand and pulling her to the centre of the room.

Careful not to injure her, he holds her waist and takes her hand, moving gracefully to the rhythm. All this while, he does not stop looking at her eyes.

As the song comes to an end, he spins her around and catches her by her neck. To her surprise, he pulls her into a kiss. For a moment, she holds him off but soon joins in on the kiss. Slow as he invades her mouth with his tongue.

She pulls out of the kiss making him stare at her in confusion. "We should not be doing this." Because I am supposed to protect you not love you, she wants to add but holds her tongue.

"I do not care what other people think. The heart does not go wrong in these things Amelia." He replies.

"But Edgar..." she wants to protest but gets silenced by another kiss. A faster one this time as he pulls her closer to him, holding on tight as if he would lose her. Just thinking of how she almost died makes him deepen the kiss.

When he pulls out of the kiss, he cups her face and kisses her forehead. "I have thought of a way to introduce you to everyone when the time comes. I do not want to lose you my little mouse." He says

"I am right here blockhead. Always have been. Always will be." She answers knowing that half of that is true.

He then pulls her into a tight warm hug as she rests her head on his chest, contemplating what she had just gotten herself into.

She had just confirmed her feelings for him and his for her, but would fate allow it? She wasn't sure. Only time would tell.

He spins her around once more gently before leading her out of the ballroom.

It was finally time to tell him the truth. He knew it would be hard but he would have to tell him.

He finds him training with the royal guard and waves him away. Edgar notices his father walking towards him and decides to shorten the distance.

"Shaping up I see." He tells him.

"Aye father. I need to be able to defend the people I love. What brings you here old man?" He asks.

"You see son, there is something you need to know about Amelia." He starts.

"What about her?" He asks

"Ever heard of the ladies' society son?" Asks William.

"Yes. It is a mythical society that is supposedly tasked with protecting the prince. Why?" Asks Edgar.

"It is not a myth son. It is true. I was in the same position as you and found out that she was a part of it." He answers noticing the anger and realisation in Edgar's eyes. "Oh son. Do not let her go. I loved my woman with all my heart and it is my love that destroyed her life." He adds.

Edgar's expression changes. "Thankyou father." He says walking away.
